Deffpony
I think no matter how old you are at some point and time something happens that makes you feel old. I'm a 26 year old college freshman, so I constantly am reminded of how old I am. Here are some examples. I was the only person in a 28 person class that had seen Top Gun. I'm a year older than my academic advisor. I spent 2 hours trying to explain what pogs were. My funny movie quote jokes go over everyone's head making me look like a jackass-In biology:"Chlorophyll... More like bore-a-fill!" I still have all my old cassette tapes, I'm afraid to throw them away. Oye Vay What situation makes you feel old? Typhus
Ok new topic rule: at the end of every post you have to say "Oye Vay" Lol Would you believe me if I said that I used that expression all the time? To be honest, I've always felt old. Whilst my peers were going out and drinking and having parties, I enjoyed a nice night indoors reading my history books. I've never spent money rashly as others around me have and hoard what wealth I have for whatever problems arise in the future. When I look at the fun other people seem to enjoy all I feel is an enduring, crippling sense of obligation and prudence. So my issue is not that I feel old, but that I've never felt young. EscoLehGo
I feel old when I see teenagers walking around in circles at the mall or other public venues giggling to each other and sh*t, joy in their youthful faces and twinkles in their eyes. I look at them and I say to myself "Just you wait you f*cker, just you wait a few years down the line....you won't be giggling then you son of a bitch, you'll be moping like me, running some f*cking errand and then you'll see what I see when you look at a group of obnoxious teenagers giggling loudly in their big gay clusterf*ck group. f*ck you man, f*ck all of you." Johnny Playert
Think about this one. What makes me feel old, is the idea that we, who grew up in the 90's, witnessed the internet being introduced. Imagine the conversation you'll have with your kids later on, and they'll be like "There was NO internet when you were a kid???", absolutely unable to grasp that thought. It's the equivalent of life before television... lol

Also, it seems like I am the only kid in my school who knows about GOOD cartoons like Corneil and Bernie, Yackety Yak and Kablam. Speaking of that, seeing those cartoons again make me feel like time is going alot faster, because I remember some of them like yesterday.

TheGodDamnMaster
I'm almost 20, almost 21. I guess at times I do feel old. -I feel embittered towards most new technology. iPads and smartphones and 3DTVs are all garbage IMO. -90's cartoons were the best and that's not just an opinion. We will never have another Rocko's Modern Life or Ren and Stimpy. -Time seems to fly by way too fast for me. Probably because not much is going on in my life. I live in the past. -I tend to look down on pre-teens and middle-schoolers simply because they're too different from when I was their age. Oh and the fact that I have clear memories of this show disturbs me. I saw this the other day and almost cried because it represents the period of my life where I wasn't miserable. One thing that made me feel quite old happened the other night. I was complaining about all the young people that are always out and about around town on the weekend, the underage drinkers. During my ranting, my friend turned to me and said "Dude, we did exactly the same thing when we were 16 and 17, we're not better". This really struck me especially when I realised that that was roughly 8 years ago. I'm only 24 yet I've been smoking for 8 years. It just seems wrong. Edit: Oye vay! ryuclan
I spent 2 hours trying to explain what pogs were. Oh sh*t son!!! I used to love Pogs. I think me and my sister were the only people who actually knew how to play. I had a bucket full of those damn things. That was when we lived in Hawaii though, when we moved back nobody friggin heard of them. Anyway there are a lot of things that make me feel old. Here are a few. Fraggle Rock YoYo's Menace to Society Nintendo Tv's with bunny ears and knobs Dial up Floppy Disks Also whenever I open the door, then get on the floor...it just makes me want to walk the dinosaur. TheGodDamnMaster
Haha batman forever was terrible. But super Mario rpg I watched that movie on VHS EVERY SINGLE DAY. It's a bad movie, but Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones were pretty good with their roles. Holy sh*t man Pajama Sam, Putt-Putt, Freddie Fish, Spy Fox and more. They were my life for like 3 years when I was little. I recently found it on Pirate Bay and I took a break from it for about a month. It still holds up. I used to play it on Windows 95. Anyone remember the start-up sound? I also remember being the only one in the house who was tech savvy enough to know how to set the VHS recorder to record tv shows using VideoPlus+ Holy hell! Complete nostalgia overload there. I had completely forgotten about VideoPlus+. Wow...this topic has suddenly become one huge time-travelling trip into the past. Speaking of old things, I found a tape I had made when I was about 10 years-old. I'd recorded the songs off the radio and did that thing where you catch the first second of the DJ talking over it. If I remember correctly the song was Baz Luhrmann's "Everybody's Free To Wear Sunscreen". Amazing song. I let it play over and over whilst I slept. Algonquin Assassin
Well I'm 27 and although it's technically not 'old" as such when I look back on certain things it feels like it was a lifetime ago. I personally think looking back at your school years is when you start to feel old. I started school in 1990 and it's crazy to think that was 23 years ago. I remember all those of rainy afternoons playing Wolfenstein and Duke Nukem on PC when floppy disks when the main form of digital media. The internet used to be a luxury and I had to ask my parents if I could go on it because back then it was all dial up and I could only stay on it for a certain amount of time. Now it's something I use everyday. I could go on and on... Growing up in the 90s was great IMO.

GTA_stu
I don't feel old, the only time I feel old is when I'm interacting with a child and they treat me like I'm a grown up. Then it hits me, I'm a f*cking grown up. I'm one of those people I used to look at when I was a kid. I'm all tall and have body hair, and I have my own bed time and can swear as much as I want. But at the same time I don't want to be older, I wanna stay young. I think part of the reason I shave pretty much all my hair off, is that on some sub-conscious level I have Michael Jackson syndrome. I mean I don't touch kids or have a pet chimpanzee, but I just don't want to grow up.

bread
This computer me and my family used to use, a Compaq Presario from 2000 with like 64 megabytes of RAM. Thing's literally a dinosaur, but to think that I actually used that bulky, loud-ass hunk of machinery on a regular basis back in the day when top-notch, powerful, efficient computers were uncommon makes me feel like a bit old. Also those old Nickolodeon and Cartoon Network shows like All That and Courage the Cowardly dog. When I was a child those were my classics, and seeing that they don't make good shows like that anymore makes me wonder where they went and then I think "wow, it's been like what, 8, 9 years since I've seen Courage, Ed, Edd and Eddy and Rugrats?". Crazy how time flies.
