Situational Awareness

In GTA IV, Niko, Johnny, or Luis got into a gunfight or had a wanted level, if you looked at their faces you could see that they had an angry scowl or grimace on their face. This was one of the cool little details that most didn't notice, that brought even more character to the protagonists instead of their faces remaining the same during any situation. I think this can (and hopefully has) been improved upon further in V.

When all is calm (no wanted level, no shooting or fighting), the protagonists will act accordingly, meaning that they will enter and exit vehicles normally, mantle objects slowly, and just like in IV, they will have a calm expression on their face. But when they are wanted by the police or are being shot at by whoever, their actions will speed up (but not to a point where it becomes "unrealistic"). They will enter and exit vehicles faster, climb objects faster (albeit haphazardly), and of course, have a displeased look on their face (except Trevor, he'd probably be smiling).

OR

Entering/exiting vehicles, climbing and mantling could be sped up by mashing the corresponding button. (facial animations would remain the same)

Do you think R* has implemented something like this in V? Do you like this concept? Do you like cookies?

Yeah I'm hoping for that too. One thing I noticed in IV was that when having a wanted level, Niko would immediately break the window on cars. Unlike in normal situations where he pulls the handle to check if it's locked.

I'd really like something like that. I think every single one of us have had moments where were shouting "MOVE YOU c*nt" to our characters onscreen as they moved like molassess trying to escape the cops. Sadly I doubt gta5 will improve upon this, but im holding out a teensy, tiny sliver of hope.

Brilliant idea, that's one of those subconscious things in GTA IV that I never thought about; but you nailed it. Everything is so damn slow. When bullets are whizzing past your head, you shouldn't politely drag someone out of a car in order to steal it. You should run up to the door, pull them out as fast as possible, and keep your head down. GTA IV almost felt like a simulator in that way, as opposed to a free-roaming crime game.

Edit: Most optimistic post Zee has ever made.

Agreed. In such situations you should totally kick the crap out of the car drivers

Perhaps in a normal situation, the character climbs over fences and high walls like they did in IV, but if you are wanted, they climb things much faster, the way they always do it in movies where they swing their bodies over the top of the fence really quickly.

I would love for a ducking feature to be implemented. If you were ever unfortunate enough to have a cop car or F.I.B. Buffalo on your tail on 5-6 stars, you would get shredded if you were on low on health.

It could work like this, you hit the duck button, and your character ducks as low as possible with their hands on the wheel, thus making them significantly harder to hit. But, when you duck, the camera pans down to back of the car, obstructing the view in front of you l(ike in San Andreas when you picked up a hooker) so that players won't abuse it. Rockstar could even make it so that you would have slightly less control over the vehicle due to the position of your hands as well. Hell, ducking in a car could even help while evading the police while wanted.

Holy crap. Thats awesome. But what button would be used?

It would be better (or work better, I should say) if it was automatic, minus the camera ducking. So when the car is shot at, whoever is driving automaticlly ducks down.
