First Mission...

I dont know if a topic like this had been ever made but f*ck it. Have you ever wondered what the first mission will be like ? Who are we going to play as ? And what would it be like, in IV we only had to drive drunk Rom home, in SA we had to escape these gangstas and get to Grove St. I dont remember how was it like in VC but I think that V may be like we start off at Mike's crib and meet da family, then we have to pick up Frank and then meet with Trev and introduce Frank to him, mission finished, and we go and explore the map. My version of first mission, summin simple, after a few hours Frank calls Mike for a mission.... It's preety probable as whoever watched Trailer 2 knows that Mike introduced Frank to Trev and siad summin like this "That's Franklin, The son I've always wanted, then Frank: Whats up" or summin. What's ur view on first mission ?

Michael will be around the house, his family arguing. He takes a bicycle or some other form of transportation and heads through the city, to the beach (while purposely leading us past important areas of the city). He sits down at a bench and meets Franklin for the first time. Franklin and his friend get into a sticky situation and Michael chooses to help them out. Thing is, in the second trailer franklin friend ask Micheal where a place is, and micheal and franklin look like they don't know each other at this point.

 

So i have no idea how the first mission will start, and who you will start with..

 

I really hope we don't find out till the game though, all i want is a release date, then wait until I get it till find out all these things plus all the other bits and bobs in the game.

If you're referring to him wearing different clothes, those screens could be from anything, not just the first mission.

That's what I was thinking however I think Michael is taking a trip to the bank to see the damage of his wife's reckless spending only to be hit with the news he has little left. This eventually leads to Mike sitting on the bench a bit later on in deep thought about his money problems and just his life in general.

your comment made me realize that he's wearing the same shorts in the photo where hes on the bicycle, that hes seen wearing by the pool in trailer 2..

well, one member not to mention the names said ull find out when you get the game, true but then if every1 had that attitude, then V section in gta forums wouldn't have anything in it. i wanna find out when is the actual relase date and then dont care about it until then

This could mean the game starts out with him chilling by the pool like in the GI article and the second trailer, goes inside and interacts with his daughter and wife like again in the GI article, then puts a shirt on and rides his bike somewhere.

Wearing the suite he looks like hes been through crap, so some things might have happened in between and these kinda things are difficult to piece together so I wont endlessly speculate.

I could see it now. R* first gives the appearance that he's living the perfect life.. he walks over picks up the leaf, sits down by the pool.. peace and quiet... and then his family is heard screaming in the background, and R* then proceeds to show the reality of things.

Didn't GI discuss the first mission, and how you start as Michael and your wife takes the nice car and you're left with a bicycle? Or maybe that was just a different mission.

Not exactly the first mission, more like the intro LEADING to the first mission.

 

 

The game starts with Michael's therapist talking over a blank, black screen. After he finishes his sentence, ROCKSTAR GAMES presents, and then, a ROCKSTAR NORTH production, appears on the screen.

 

The beginning cutscene is Michael talking with his therapist about family issues. After the session, Michael exits the office, and gets in his grey Audi R8. The theme song rolls in and the whole opening credits show up on various environments Michael's passing by. Reaching his mansion, Grand Theft Auto V appears infront of the skyline from the mansion.

 

Michael enters his home, Tracy playing a dancing game, Jimmy leaning on the couch with headphones on, and Amanda pulling out groceries from a bag. Michael walks in the kitchen, and attempts to kiss his wife, but she pushes him away. She tells Michael about Tracy's boyfriend staying over and how she doesn't WANT him to stay over.

 

Tracy walks in the kitchen, getting into an argument with her mother, and Michael casually walks away. The scene jumps over to Michael walking to his outdoor pool, resting on the chair, yells of Amanda and Tracy still heard from outside the mansion.

 

Moments later, Amanda exits the mansion and takes Michael's convertible, and Tracy enters her car. They both leave. Michael sighs, and continues relaxing.

 

The scene jumps over to a highway, with semi's and minivans crowding the roads. The camera pans over to a small town, and rests on a gas station. Trevor is seen taking a dump, in the gas station's bathroom. A group of bikers enter the bathroom, loud and obnoxious.

 

One of them tells Trevor to quickly release the brown, and get out. Or else. Trevor takes his time. After finishing taking a dump, he doesn't flush, and makes it seem like he's still in there. Though, he's not. The biker grows tired and angry. He bangs on the stall, and threatens Trevor. After a long list of taunts and insults, the biker knock's the stall's door over, and see's that it's empty.

 

Confused, the biker turns back around, and see's his biker friends knocked out. He turns back to the stall, and Trevor punches him in the face, grabs him, and sticks his head in the unflushed toilet.

 

The scene jumps over to Trevor exiting the bathroom, police arriving in the area. Trevor pulls out his gun, and shoots all policemen, knowing more will arrive and drugs stashed in his pickup. He enters the gas station, grabs a gallon, fills the container with gasoline from the gas pumps, and spills it on his truck. Grabbing a lighter, he lights the vehicle on fire. Turning around, a man, his employer for the business he wants to open stares at Trevor. Trevor laughs and says something about a contract and bodies, hmmmm...?

 

We are now in South Los Santos, in a car dealership. Franklin is arriving to the building in a red convertible. An Armenian man exits the building and yells at Franklin about being late. Franklin apologizes and reminds the Armenian about the job he does, he steals cars and that he's not exactly a real worker.

 

The Armenian reminds Franklin that the reason he has cash and the nice red car is because he still WORKS for him. The Armenian tells Franklin about a car he needs stripped apart, but stolen, near Pleasure Pier. Franklin accepts the job and leaves the building.

 

He calls a friend, Lamar, to help him in the job.

 

The scene cuts to Michael, again. As he exits his garage with a bike, and sighs. He peddles and exits....

 

@giona - GI sometimes describes missions inaccurate. Like the first SRTT mission was ACTUALLY the bank job but GI described it as the plane/gun skydiving.

I think that the first mission will be what gaming magazines/websites got to see on Oct. 11, 2012. The way it was described makes it seem like the perfect opening mission, IMO. They got to see what Michael's family life is like, and then what Trevor likes to do. (Blow sh*t up)

 

It also showed off the amazing detail of the world. Then they jumped right into a mission where they rescued some guy from the IAA building (I think that was the one) and it set the tone, IMO, for what the missions will be like.

Still, maybe they are correct this time. I mean, it does sound like a good first mission to ride around Los Santos in a Bicycle, introducing you to the game mechanics, AI, graphics, landmarks, physics, etc. on the way to... wherever Michael is going. Plus it gives some homage to SA.
