I can't remember if they did that in RDR. I'd like to see that shark hunting San Andreas Seals off the coast, while I'm watching from my mini-sub. Couldn't of said it better myself. Oh and I got a good laugh at that guy on the first page who said sharks would just be a stage prop pretty much. Gotta love sarcasm ...or insane stupidity. S1LV3R_W0LF Posted January 15, 2013 Share Posted January 15, 2013 I'm sure they aren't there just for the looks and they are the perfect boundary for the sea if you try to swim indefinitely, you can avoid them for a while or shot them if you have that sort of weapons, but you won't do it indefinitely, eventually you'll be caught. ITSLOCBABY Posted January 16, 2013 Share Posted January 16, 2013 I hope that they aren't programmed to immediately attack the player when they are in range because it would just be a hassle for me if I wanted to enjoy going underwater only for a damn shark to rip Micheal into meaty chunks. I want them to attack if I provoke them or go to close to them instead because I don't hear about shark attacks happening everyday so it shouldn't be a death wish every time I enter the water in V. It would be nice to see a random attack on a npc on rare occasions though. I agree. I don't want to not be able to swim in the water because everytime there's a shark. But occasionally, means it'll have more of an impact. It'll make you think twice about the water. For example, I use the water as an escape from the police etc and now that may not be a good idea. Also cruising down to GTA's version of Malibu (hope they have it in!), chilling on the beach then to hear a siren or something, people screaming and running, lifeguards going crazy. So many people come on here and post crazy big pictures that makes the forum impossible to read properly. But yes, I hope the sharks are vicious enough that any time you enter open waters you get anxious. Would be cool if they attack random boats and people, but some reason I can't imagine it..... would also be cool to see their fins poking out the water as they are swimming around.... even just in the distance. jamieleng Posted January 18, 2013 Share Posted January 18, 2013 My understanding of the animals is similar, if not identical to, RDR. Sharks will be like cougars, but in water. Hell there might even be cougars, they are a problem on some trails in California. I expect to see mule deer, dogs of course, other marine wildlife, cattle, horses (Perhaps even to ride), maybe even smaller animals like skunk and racoons. They have it available to use in HD already from RDR. Look at how revolutionary RDR was with wildlife for Rockstar. They could do it in V. Totally agree with all that. I've seen people on here say things like "There won't be many animals & you won't be able to ride horses, because that's RDR's thing. There would be no need for another game in the RDR franchise.". That's got to be the dumbest reason for leaving out a feature which you've already programmed into your proprietary game engine. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It would also be awesome if R* made the sharks breach the water, even tho great whites typically only do that around seal island off of Africa. Not all sharks eat seals.
