Not exited as I was 5 years ago. Because i've grown older and videogames arent as exiting anymore. I like to read forums thogh. Always a good laugh.

Exactly why I think I am not as excited. I was in grade 10 when IV came out now I'm done school in the real working world.

I'm looking forward to it more. IV was a lot to look forward to because the graphics were like nothing we'd ever seen from a GTA game. Those shots of all the tall buildings, bridges, and everything else were fantastic. The game ended up being as great as I had hoped, but a little emptier than I expected once I beat the game, though I still played it a lot. V seems to fill the hole that IV had. I cant imagine getting bored with fighter jets, submarines, a military base, and everything we've yet to see. Plus the many locations to have fun in; the city, desert, forest, mountain, farmland, ocean floor.. Its going to be a lot of fun.

No, I was much more excited for GTA IV because it was next-gen. The first two trailer's for IV were also made magnificently well. The first trailer for IV remains my favourite because of that mysterious and ominous feel to it. I must have played the first two trailers back-to-back about 100 times total before IV's release; it's hard to believe that it's been 5-6 years since then.

To be honest, I didn't even know what GTA was until 2010.

I meant IV.

I already had GTA 3, VC, VCS and SA back then.

Not as excited as i was for IV, And most of the people who voted the V option are just voting it either because they are new to the series or have a strong hate on IV, IV was something to be excited for as it was going to be a whole next gen GTA experience, You don't get that kind of hype every year.

IV was hardly on my radar. Back then, I was a college senior and still very much an SA fanboy. Everything I heard about IV was second-hand and turned me off: one city, no planes/parachutes, Eastern European protag. I'm wasn't sure why the anticipation for IV was so high when so much about IV sounded like a step backward...

Then I finally played it, despite my low expectations, and saw just how many areas in which IV was a step in the right direction. Niko--who I was dreading--ended up being my favorite GTA protag! Prominent features like parachutes were missing, but everything that was there felt improved in some minor, but thoughtful way. IV rekindled my interest in gaming and remains my favorite game this gen, with RDR a very close and welcome second.

That said, my anticipation for V is greater than any game ever before. It will have all of IV advancements, plus the scope and breadth of my beloved SA and RDR. I'm not sure I'll ever be this excited for a game again, tbh, as LS is my favorite GTA city to date. Maybe when R* does a GTA with multiple cities again, my hype shall riseth once more!

GTA V - Is going to rape IV then spit in its eye.

I don't think there will ever be another game

that gets me as hyped than hearing about a new GTA.

They are the best sandbox publisher and I am a advid believer

that most games that arent free roam/sandbox style are going

out of style.

Why do I want to follow a specfic path time and time again with

the same out come same amount of enemies and same end result ?.

I had fun with IV for awhile ,but in the end it was missing too many features

thatmade past GTA's so great.

Therfore seeing such features return plus more I am sincerly going to enjoy the sh't out of it.

I dunno... as I hyped as I am for V, I was pretty damned excited for IV because it was the first HD GTA. I don't doubt that V will be better, but IV has been my favorite since it came out.

GTA IV wasn't HD was it? I thought it was only 720p.

It's hard to say. I was provably more excited about the idea of next gen GTA. So maybe IV. But I also knew it would be like the new GTA3 where we think its great until they come along and make one with countryside mand desert, and then makes IV pretty useless and unplayable. So I am more excited about V in a sense that I know it would be a fantastic game and a classic. But the hype of next gen GTA was a little more exciting. But then again, I didn't check the forums every day like I do now.

I was excited for IV just because of what came before. What we got with IV is probably why I'm not as excited for V as I was with IV. Even though V looks a lot better than IV, I don't want to set my expectations too high this time.

I'm definitely more excited than I was for IV. Especially after it was announced to be in Los Santos. I always liked the rural areas.

actually I voted V for the exact opposite of what you think.

I've been a fan since 02, and I'm voting for V because IV was so great.

I loved IV, and I know that V is going to bring most of the fun things IV had to do, plus a sh*tload of new things.

This is the only Gta where I followed the news before it came out, I actually even bought the game informer magazine 2 days ago and this one is BIGGER than all? has more stuff?

TAKE MY MONEY DAMMIT

I watched trailer 1 and 2 so many times I can tell you what happens from beginning to end in every pixel

and I go crazy over new screens and content.

Same. This game is going to be amazing. If IV made me soil myself the first time I played it, i'm afraid of what V will do to me...

I haven't been as curious or anxious about a game ever until now, i come home from work every evening and spend a while on this forum looking for the slightest new shred of info. If i wanted to know the latest i know to come here.

I never really was on the hype train for games before they released, until about a few years ago. I was still a hardcore gamer, but I just visited EB Games occasionally to see what new games they have and decide what I would buy.

I pretty much lived as if there was no such thing as the internet (even though I visited it frequently, although I only used it for flash games).

But ever since when Borderlands released, I started actually anticipating games; even months before they released. I frequent web pages that warn you about upcoming games (I visit IGN few times a day). I established many games that I like and dislike. And that's how I became a full-fledged gamer cool.gif Oh and I loved GTA IV and SA and V seemed like it was both combined, and so I have been following the game with the utmost loyalty and hype ever since October 25th.

I was interested in IV, but all the possibilities and expectations of V, along the possible scenarios for PC takes it to another level, specially because I got disappointed when I found out that IV was just an urban jungle of bricks and stones.

I was more excited for IV because I thought it was gonna have crazy features, lots of stores, lots of interior, character control, and a ton sandbox freedom like San Andreas. Forget realism, graphics, rage engine and all that other sh*t, because as an openworld sandbox game, GTA IV didnt come CLOSE to San Andreas. So after GTA 4, I tampered down expectations. It's 2013, graphics dont impress me anymore. I need gameplay and features. There are some people on this forum who have gone far enough to say that GTA V is the greatest game ever and it hasnt even come out yet. I dont understand those type of fans, let a game come out first then we'll see. GTA V doesnt have to me as good as SA to me, but it has to be a better sandbox game than GTA IV and hopefully we can get a balanced game with great graphics, realism, gameplay AND features instead of a bare minimum openworld with shiny graphics.

GTA IV was/is much more refined more refined than SA will ever be. Saying things like forgetting about R.A.G.E is like saying forget about the engine in a car.

It's the heart of the game aswell as other core mechanics. It's what makes everything tick and to further my analogy features are things like air conditioning, seat warmers, in car dvd etc which all make the driving experience more enjoyable, but are worthess without the engine which is exactly what R.A.G.E is in this case. Physics are also apart of that too.

As as far as a "sandbox" game goes well that's debatable. SA had a lot of features the series could've survived fine without. Now I'm older I can genuinely see it had a lot of sh*t that wasn't very fun at all.

To me it's a matter of balancing these features to make them work rather than the quantity of them. To be honest that's why GTA IV having less features has never bothered me.

I agree however that hopefully we'll get a balance as obviously not everyone liked the approach used in GTA IV. GTA V is already more appealing to me than SA because the "pursuit of the almighty dollar" angle seems far more interesting than the early 90s hybrid street gang theme of SA.
