Ineedhelpz
Hi guys I need to know as to whether or not my computer can play GTA IV because last time I bought it and it did not work on my laptop, I only realized later because it was not powerful enough to run it the graphics were severely wrong showing cars and motions very slowly, I could drive and the physics would be there but no road nothing just a either a black plain background and the voice acting and noise or a blue and other colors background like the laptop was trying to run it as hard as it could. So I built a computer for Christmas and spent a good amount of money on it and I want to purchase GTA IV and play it however I don't want to by it and have the same or a similar thing happen to me again. Right now these are my system components and all are relatively good working. ASRock 970 Extreme3 motherboard, AMD FX 6300 Six-Core Processor 3.5 Ghz overclocked 3.9, ASUS LED 21.5" Monitor, Thermaltake MK-I Full Tower Case, 2 220mm fans, 1 140mm Aftermarket fan, Soundcard is integrated I think, Western Digital 1 TB SATA Hard Drive, LG Blu-Ray/DVD Burner and Reader, A good power supply at around 1000 watts I'm not sure the model or make I forgot them, 8GB RAM running Dual Channel, and last but not least an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650. All parts were bought from Microcenter and I currently play GTA San Andreas on this computer and it has good graphics. Please tell me if this enough so I don't waste my money again. Garfield 2
Yes. Should be fine as long as you don't max everything out...

Andreas
Yeah, it will definitely run but I would have taken some other PC parts than you have. Well, a 1000 Watt power supply is overkill and just a waste of money and power because with these PC specifications, less than half of that ammount of Watt would have sufficed, you could have bought a power supply that actually fits to your system and that has a good quality. The GTX650 isn't a really good graphics card considering that it's even weaker than a two and a half years old GTX460, hell it's even weaker than a GTX460SE! unc13bud
well, both of those cards require more power - although he listed a 1000 watt power supply as his components, so he isn't concerned about power drainage. i like my gt 640 because it uses so little power and cools down very fast - it idles at 32 degrees
