My computer is too fast for San Andreas?

It's been a very long time since I played GTA SA and I wanted to play it again (GTA IV is alright, but SA has a unique clime), but it turns out that my PC is way too fast for it (?).

I think that it is too fast, because I have a following issues:

  • * I can't move while I am in an aiming stance with a two handed weapon (or a spray can/camera).

* Every time when a police is chasing me and I will throw a police officer from a bike, but stop CJ from getting on it, then CJ will be "frozen". I mean, I cannot walk, run, jump, pull out a weapon, I simply can't do anything. Funny part is, that I do not receive damage, even when police is shooting at me.

* Every time when I will exit Ganton gym, CJ is getting back to it immediately. I need to tap a jump button like crazy to counter that (I am not sure about other gyms though).

* Also, I need to tap a horn button very, but very fast if I want to turn on/off a vehicle's siren.

* I practically can't use a super sprint, even when I will tap a sprint button very fast.

There is probably more of that type of issues, but since I am playing SA from the very beginning, it's hard to tell.

I turned off vertical synchronization but it didn't helped. I also turned off three cores in my processor - which is quad-core - but it only works for a problem with a mouse. Even Uncle Google didn't helped too much and I don't know what to do anymore. The only thing that helps is turning frame limier on, but it makes a game very laggy, so I hope that there is another solution.

Although there was a topic about it once ( http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=447634 ), but it didn't helped me.

Here are my PC's parameters:

  • Processor: Intel® Core i5-2500 CPU @ 3,30 GHz, quad-core

Graphic card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti

RAM memory: 8,00 GB

Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium, x64

Like I said earlier, I don't know what to do anymore and any help will be appreciated.

Offtopic:

I understand that a game may not work properly, when your computer is too slow, but it may not work correctly because your PC is too fast? What a fail confused.gif.

Is your CPUs set to Afinity '0' ?

Are playing with the DVD in the drive?

Have you or someone else modded the game?

I set CPU's affinity to '0' every time, when I launch the game.

I play on Steam/electronic version, since my DVD game disc is now FUBAR.

Have you or someone else modded the game?

My game is not modded.

Try Deji's Stream Ini Extender, and modify the "Frame Limit" value as explained here:

-  Frame Limit  -

-----------------

Usage: framelimit %int%

Example: framelimit 105

Default: 30

Description:

This sets the frame rate limit when frame rate limiter is enabled. The value is not the exact FPS. By default this is set to 30, which is actually 25fps. For 60fps, the value is 105.

This will make your game not lag when the "Frame Limiter" is enabled.

Is that normal if your skill level isn't high enough? Camera doesn't let you walk, or are you refering to "move" as in 'aiming'.

* Also, I need to tap a horn button very, but very fast if I want to turn on/off a vehicle's siren.

That is normal. Click fast for siren otherwise it's just the horn.

Wow, It really worked. Thanks MrMateczko biggrin.gif.

You know what? If we ever see each other in real life, then you will have a beer (or something else) on my cost. Seriously.

Oh, and by the way, if you want to use cleo mods on San Andreas's Steam version, then you must first downgrade it (Steam version is v3). <You can downgrade it by using Grand Theft Auto San Andreas Downgrader. Downgrading is something the player needs to do without help on these forums>And thanks again smile.gif.
