MythicalNomad Posted January 14, 2013 Share Posted January 14, 2013 I didn't really have an opinion. I was neither excited nor worried. As time's passed though, I've grown to love the idea. I'm pretty sure most people will favor one character. For me, that's gotta be Trevor. Then again, I'll love each character for different reasons. If I want to go around the hood dressed in (hopefully) some street thug-looking clothes, getting myself into trouble and pimpin' some rides, I'll play as Franklin. If I want to go into a Casino (if there are any), I'll play as Michael, soaking up the atmosphere and having a good time earning (or losing) money. If I want to go on a murderous rampage or just explore the expanses of Los Santos, I'll play as Trevor. This game is going to cater for everyone's playstyle. Was a lot of speculation that there would be multiple protagonists since the screenshots never really focused on just one person. Even the 1st trailer never focused on just one person. There was Michael talking and an early version of franklin seen in it. I was excited (still am) because its something new. I like to see Rockstar take a risk by putting something completely new in their games instead of sticking to the tried and tested formula. Although I wasn't expecting this sort of mechanics, that allow you to change between them at any time, I'm still wondering how it will be like. But sounds interesting and refreshing. I remember Resident Evil 2 where you could play a story and then start with the other character and everything you've done took a roll in it, like the ammo you took, the items you left and so on, although the same monsters were there and I thought GTA could be something like that, but honestly that wouldn't make much sense in a game like GTA, so looking forward to this. This is the kind of rumour you know it's fake because it's just such a bad idea... and it became true. Now: don't really know that much to have a solid opinion, but the game is looking f*cking awesome. I hope they implement the character switching in a way that doesn't make it seem arcade-ish. I thought it wouldn't fit a GTA game and that it was a sign that R* couldn't make their mind up on who they wanted to be their one and only protagonist. As the time passed by and we learned more about the characters, I grew to like the feature and have accepted it a long time ago. I look forward to seeing how it works. After trailer 2 + a some more info: Hmm Franklin seems like a really cool guy, Repo man job seems cool, he apparently has great driving skills, and he can snipe like a pro. Nice. and Trevor seems like a guy who I can do all kinds of sh*t with. Franklin has a deeper voice than I expected though. Now: I can't wait to play this game!
