los santos bigger than liberty city?

I hope they did, it would mean it is bigger than all the land together in IV, but most likely they just mean LC without the water in between.

Liberty City with water in between islands included - 6 square miles

 

Liberty City land only - less than 4 square miles

They did say they wanted to focus on one city, I personally belief Los Santos will be bigger because its the main city, you need a variety of everything to balance out the map structure, I cant imagine Los Santos being smaller than LC and not being explorable especially from what we have heard about interiors and the deep oceans surrounding Los santos, Los santos plays a major part in the game there is no way R* would make it smaller than LC

So far, everyone I'm aware of who has actually tried to make a realistic estimate of the size of Los Santos, beyond just "looks big" or "looks small", has come to the conclusion that most likely, it won't be much bigger or much smaller than Liberty City. Check the "Mapping Los Santos" thread. I'm relatively certain that, when the game comes out, the most common reaction is not going to be "WTF that city is tiny", but "WTF that countryside is HUGE".

I made this map of LC without the rivers to give everyone a general idea of how big LS will be. It may be bigger or smaller, and the leftover water in the rivers account for lakes or ponds that might be in the city.

I think los santos will be 1.5x the size of liberty city about the same size as la noir
