Im not complaining, its called a discussion. The first sentence of this thread stated that. Im probably more excited for GTA V then half the people on the forums.

And you complain more than half the people. Just stop complaining about the game until its released. When its released and everything is final, thats when you can complain. Rockstar is still fixing stuff in the game. You dont tell an artist his painting looks horrible when its not complete with the little details.

You're essentially complaining but you deny it constantly. Also, Im unsure if it was you (I get names mixed up often) but somebody complained about textures on a parking meter. Is your next thread going to be about that?

Do you not understand what the point of these forums are. We are here to discuss things about GTA V.

Doesn't really bother me, just an observation

 

I have high hopes for this game. I want V to fix what was wrong with IV but keep all the good things from the past. Im not gonna argue with you anymore because you are obviously not smart enough to realize that Im not "judging" the game, rather Im talking about a game I have been coming to these forums to talk about for 4 years.

I'm guessing its part of a mission/cutscene and that rogue missile may be infact a heat seeking missile that is supposed to be in the game. Only explanation I can find.

If you look closely, you see the trail from something in the top left of the screen, could be from the missile.

Maybe it came from a stray missile Niko shot in Liberty City. It traveled across the continent to land perfectly into frame for trailer 2 of GTA V.

This is honestly the most likely explanation. It's something that you wouldn't notice unless you went through the footage frame-by-frame like the OP did, so it gets the job done.

It DOES look a tiny bit cheesy when looked at frame by frame, but it doesn't look any worse than most CGI effects in today's movies. I HATE CGI. It seems like older films look so much better when it comes to action scenes, especially where explosions are concerned. There was so much more detail that was painstakingly calculated.

The best example i can give is the original Star Was trilogy. Most of the visual effects were achieved through actual modeling, carefully filmed, and built around expensive sets that took thousands of manhours to create. You just can't get the same level of realism when computers are involved.

Then came the final 3 prequels. These films relied almost entirely on CGI effects, and look AWFUL in comparison, in spite of having such a technological advantage.

Video games are more forgiving because everything is animated through computer technology. That chopper scene is ok by me, however, i've seen much worse in some MOVIES. THAT, is really bad.

To me it looks like the chooper takes the first rockets like a boss. This knocks the chooper into the flight path of the jet. The jet then hits it at speed causing it to explode.

 

I'm presuming the rockets fired are heat seekers and the final random rocket is a second rocket fired from the plane that glitches and travels downwards. If you look closly it looks like it comes from the planes wing.

Looking at it closer the plane fires 2 sets of rockets 1 of the second set makes contact just as the plane appears to smash through the chopper and the other rocket glitches. Looks like they have hardened helicopters up!

There are two police choppers and you can see them split, the jet engages one, it's possible the other could shot rockets at a higher felony level and he shot against the jet, but the jet traveled so fast that it crashed on the chopper that was under it. I don't think Rockstar had the need for a "magical missile" to add an extra explosion.

I think it's likely one of the first explanations on page one after OP brought the second missile up - Rockstar are probably using a dev mode of their game. It seems weird that they don't have the control to put an explosion where they want it but it wouldn't take long to place an "active" rocket and have it fire at the right time, and thanks to the wonders of programming this "Active" rocket will explode on contact.

I think it appears like it comes ontop of the heli because its a highspeed explosion, the flames would engulf behind the heli's direction bursting out on our viewing side.

 

As for that extra missile i aint got a clue wtf that is.

To be honest, i think you really could be right here man. Think about it, they fire the first pair, then when they smash through it they fire another set, perfectly timed. And indeed, that hanging missile could be the poor animation, looking weird because it flew too close but it can't miss because it's heat-seeking...

IMO, its just the missile lagging behind the speed of the jet. I think that the same jet fired that 'stray' missile, but the jet is flying faster than the missile, on top of the fact that maybe the missiles take a moment to shoot forward like the Buzzard's missiles in TBoGT.

All though I'm not sure about the plane being faster than the missiles. It's feasible that the plane could be going slower on the initial rocket shot but I don't think this is the case.

 

It seems to explode when the plane almost smashes it out of the way. The explosion of the helicopter happens before the random rocket appears on screen. Witch as from our perspective with the plane banking heavily to the right makes sense as the random rocket came crom the left wing witch is off screen by then.

 

I could be wrong and it could be something else, but to me it makes sense more than rockstar putting in after effects.

It is possible that the jet fired multiple missiles to assure a takedown, but the first ones already hit it and therefore the last fired missiles were just overkill.
