Franklin an undercover FIB agent?

This is one of the most ridiculous theories. Learn something about what it means to be an undercover agent. You're still law enforcement, so you can't do the type of sh*t Franklin will be doing.

Ever played Sleepings Dogs? While Wei isn't an FBI agent he's still an undercover cop and does all the things a Triad would.

 

I agree that Franklin turning out to be an FBI (or FIB) agent in the GTA universe is a bit far fetched, but even if he did he could still do all of the things a criminal would.

 

The question is how would R* do it in a convincing way if he really is an FIB agent? In Sleeping Dogs we know Wei is an undercover cop and at certain points he converses with superior officers on his case progress.

 

If R* wanted to make Franklin an FIB agent a secret it would just feel forced IMO. I'd rather another chaarcter vital to the storyline turning out to be law enforcement like Michelle in IV.

Another problem with that is, You are Franklin if you play as him.. If you, yourself don't know that your undercover FIB, well.. that just wouldn't make sense unless Frankly was a mentally unstable FIB agent.

 

Do you know what I'm trying to say. We will play as all the protags thus, at once point, we are all Franklin, Michael and Trevor. We should all know OURSELVES better than anyone.

I understand exactly what you mean. In order for it to work the player would have to know he's already an FIB agent rather than it being a big secret that gets revealed towards the end.

I agree with what you guys are saying. When Dan Houser describes Franklin as the most traditional protagonist and I see images of him in action, it's hard to see him as an undercover agent. And like you said, we would need to know for it to work anyways. I can't see it working if R* kept it a secret.

I don't think that any of those 3 is a FIB. but it would be an awesome twist in the storyline.
