gsbadreligion Posted January 13, 2013 Share Posted January 13, 2013 I've seen a lot of people complain about michaels family being boring and i don't get it. jimmy seems like he's going to bring in some much needed humor back into the series(iv lacked this for the most part due to the serious storyline). His daughter is obviously going to drive him crazy and add more missions to the game with her getting in trouble and possibly her getting with franklin or something. his wife is going to really mess up in the story, with some serious consequences. My list of the best family members besides michael 1. Jimmy(if nothing else you might get to see him get beat up by gang members for using the n word) 2. Tracy(she's probably going to get kidnapped if nothing else) 3. Amanda(michaels rich spoiled wife who might be kidnapped as well) We basically know the bare minimum about these characters anyways and rockstar isn't going to not deliver on important characters to the series. This is Michaels family and they will be a good part of the missions, dealing with them. also add to the fact we've never had to be a father and husband in a gta game which really allows up to do things never before possible. Before this we got that fix by helping luis's mom and sending emails to nikos mom, this allows us to get much deeper into a realistic(but not too realistic granted this is rockstar and sh*t is going to go down with the characters). I'm not really looking forward to the family aspect, but it's not a big deal. I don't think she is, i don't think rockstar has ever had a person that young in gta(except for that one lady with the baby in vice city or vice city stories). i could be wrong i only really played sa and iv. Michael's kids are both adults. Even Lazlow said, "there are only adults in our(Rockstar's) game". He said this on O & A when he was talking about GTA V. That's basically my problem with characters like that in a game like GTA. In real life, I just wouldn't hang out with people like that. In GTA we have no choice, so babysitting or rescue missions could get annoying if there are too many of them. Hopefully it will be more entertaining and not too annoying. Also, I'm not looking forward to the family aspect either. It seems gimmicky and it strays away from the GTA I love. Why? I'm worried that there will be nagging missions where I don't really give a f*ck. His wife and daughter may actually annoy me. I know it's to offer some balance in the game and its realistic in terms if what a lot of working men will deal with bit sometimes that sh*t is best left to watch on TV or films than actually making you play through crap. Margaret from Boardwalk Empire is annoying bit you sort of need her there. It makes the writing more round. Meadow and Carmela Soprano were annoying but again they really fleshed out the show. I'm hoping Michaels Family are there bit don't really come in to te foreground enough to make it more of a hindrance to play. There presence should be fel but only to make Michaels personality more 3 dimensional and believable. I won't accept f*cking trips to the shops to by tampons missions or sh*t like that. I almost forgot about Sweet. I didn't like him either. For me, family characters expect too much, because the protagonist obviously loves them, but I don't give a f*ck about them. I just wish R* would create cool family members, and stop using them as a way to either make us feel bad or annoyed. Jimmy reminds me of Tony Soprano's son, and that little pussy frustrated the f*ck outta me. It would be cool if Jimmy learns some sh*t from his dad and Franklin/Trevor at some point in the game. Now that I think about it, perhaps Franklin will be a sort of "surrogate" son for Michael's family. In the second trailer, you see him helping Michael rescue Jimmy on the highway. I'm going to be doing this kind of stuff with Trevor only. As for Michael's family, I'm curious to see what they will offer to the story. I love the family aspect in Breaking Bad. It just adds a whole layer of depth in my opinion. I keep wondering if his family even knows he used to be a criminal, let alone how he acquired so much money. I think he's referring to the fact that Michael is the first protagonist with his own family (wife & kids). I'm very interested in how R* implements this into the story & freeroam. I think it's the opposite, the most people are most likely looking forwart to the family aspect. The "Franklin only-hardcore"-Fans seems to hate Michael (and his family) for some reason. That, and R* giving him pretty much the spotlight in the trailers. I strongly Dislike Michael, and one of the bigger reasons is because of his family. When the 2nd trailer started, and I heard his stupid daughter and retarded wife fighting, I just wanted to break the screen in one punch. That killed it for me. Jimmy doesn't look so bad I guess, but when it comes to Michael, I simply don't get that excitement feeling I am looking for, unlike the other two characters, besides, he's the most overrated of them all, by far, given most if not all the spotlights. This is bullsh*t! I really like Michael, he reminds me of DeNiro in Heat and he will most likely be like him and since the story is about heists/bank robberies, it fits very well.
