Pieface
Im guessing people freaked out on him is because he is not wanting a feature they really want. It could be tons of fun to do demolition derby and i hope its put in. especially if any vehicle is allowed, lawnmower vs semi commence. multiplayer is going to be the real fun with it because people will be bringing tanks, military vehicles, helicopters, and sports cars for some real fun. How about the Crop Harvester from San Andreas That would be something to see! Oh for god's sake I WANT IT, I just dont think we'll be able to TAKE part in it. I don't really know, it could be easily implemented. Rockstar has already figured out most of the mini games by now i'm sure. Everyone here honestly has valid points on why it cam be easily added, I'm just the stupid, humble one. Should have thought abput it a bit more before posting. My bad thpugh, im new :s and I know that's not a valid excuse for my stupidity but oh wel.

killahmatic
Maybe or maybe not. But I personally think they won't since its not very realistic, due to several reasons. So you want GTA to not be a GTA? No, its my opinion I don't think they'll include it unless any of the protags have any previous professional driving experiences. Don't know about you, but where I come from, the last thing you need to be a demolition derby driver is driving experience. all you need is a car with a number on it, a few safety features installed and you're in. Racecarlock
For the record, this is what the most common form of demolition derby is. I don't think that's out of reach for any protagonist. In fact, anyone with an old car or anyone who can buy a car from a salvage yard can enter. Just make sure to take out all glass on the vehicle. Racecarlock
Some people get f*cking weird about that realism sh*t. How is a Demolition Derby not realistic? I don't know. I think it's because people aren't thinking of real demolition derbies, but rather something like destruction derby arenas. But really, all that's needed is the money to buy a scrap car, rebuild it, and the entry fee for the derby.

Because you are not only crashing into cars, but a roaring crowd and the rules of the sport itself are encouraging you to smash the hell out of other cars. That's fun even if it's totally realistic. Remi749
I would love it, and I think it could fit well, Franklin is this "car-guy" and Trevor is this maniac, who I guess would love some wreckage. And Michael might be bored and try some Derby himself. I think there will be a demolition derby! I vote for it.

I don't want stuff that isn't fun, but if R* does realism correctly, it will be very fun. I always look at it the same way. Think about all the stuff we have in real life, but what if you only had to deal with GTA consequences? I don't want refueling, jail time, or eating to maintain weight, but I saw a guy working in Michael's yard in the trailer, and that's the type of realism I love. Some people don't care about sh*t like that and I'm guessing little touches like that aren't in Saints Row, but I'm already seeing some fun gameplay opportunities. What kind of unique tools/weapons do you think we'll have access to because R* cares about realism? Volition's goal is to make Saint's Row as ridiculous as possible, which is fun for some, but it will never be as satisfying as what R* is trying to do. R*'s goal is to add as many realistic details as possible, while still maintaining the fun aspect. Those details will naturally make GTA's gameplay ridiculous if you choose to play it that way, but it will be more satisfying because of the more realistic physics, animations, AI, and every other detail R* includes in the game. I play the game for fun too, really. I hate realism in games but apparently R* likes it . I was just saying what I think they'll do. Don't go blazing guns on me ya'll You HATE realism? In all games? It could be fun if R* gave us superpowers to play with in GTAV, but at the end of the day it would still be sh*t solely on the basis of it being totally unrealistic. suicidehummer
Although the damage physics in IV were good, they could have been better and I'm hoping R* will at least try to improve them slightly. I won't complain if they don't but it would really add to the game for me at least. It would be sweet if we could lose wheels, possibly during a chase, where the sparks could set fire to the wheel well, eventually reaching the tank or engine causing an explosion. Also, real deformation of the car's frame, but that may be impossible until the next gen systems debut.
