GTA4 DLC Questions

I have the GTA episodes from liberty city disc but not the complete game. Can I play multiplayer with my friend who has GTA4. Also will the cheat codes still be the same/ give you the same things (such as vehicles) thanks.

Not 100% sure about the multiplayer; but I don't think you can use the Episodes From Liberty City disk to play multiplayer with those who are playing the original GTA IV (someone correct me if I'm wrong). The cheats from GTA IV can be used in both of the episodes.

Let me make sure I understand:

 

First, are you asking if you can play online with one of your friends while you play an episode as they play the original? If yes, then this cannot happen. You need to play the exact same game to be able to connect online. Second, if you are asking if all the cheat codes from the original are available in the episodes? If yes, then this is correct. All vanilla GTA IV cheats are available in both TLaD and TBoGT, in addition to exclusive ones for each too.

If you have EFLC and your friend has IV, then you can't play online. You would be able to play online if he bought EFLC, downloaded TBoGT DLC, or bought the complete edition (all 3 games on 1 disk). If he downloaded TLaD then you wouldn't be able to play online, as EFLC and DLC versions of TLaD aren't compatible. So, the easiest and probably cheapest way for you to play online is for you to buy IV, or him to download TBoGT.

 

As for cheats, all IV cheats are in both episodes, although the weapon cheats will give you some different guns, and there are new cheats for new guns and cars.
