Uninstall GTA IV and all the additional programs (if they aren't already removed), restart your PC, then install GTA IV again and then install Patch 1.0.4.0! If it crashes again, then try to start a new game and look if it works.

also there is way to delete game settings (not game saves). check the pinned topics, they can describe it better than me. also maybe try starting gta iv in safe mode

No, GTA Episodes From Liberty City is when you buy it on version 1.1.0.0 and patch 1.1.2.0 is the newest patch. In EFLC's case, there is not a huge difference when it comes to the performance compared to GTA IV with and without patches. So you should let the 1.1.2.0 patch for EFLC. The stock version of EFLC equals to GTA IV's patch 1.0.7.0 and you can not do anything against it. The newest EFLC patch only improve things so no need to get rid of it.

if your pre-made mode package does not support the current version of the game then i would avoid it myself..

or you can mod the game yourself..

note there is a major bug in any modding activity in ALL versions of GTA IV that is as follows..

Add customs cars = game goes wonky and weird bad things happen such as missing texture or objects

and worst of all is the problem we have all seen.. cars will repeat them selves so you see the same car everywhere.

its related to the size of the car models basicly ..soon as you start adding custom cars the problem gets worse and worse.

there is a couple work arounds here at the forum people made but personally i don't like any of them and won't use them.

My favorite mod i have used on EFLC is a Hell's Angels biker jacket texture mod. Other than that i never bothered moding EFLC.

GTA IV on the other hand i modded lots with stuff such as cars, player models (peds etc) textures, ENBseries etc etc

ALL on the patch 1.007 for GTA !

Just use the current version of EFLC there is no reason to use an older version of the game on EFLC.

And I disagree with the reasons people promote GTA patch 104.. i like 107 better works fine for me..

Well, some versions of the graphics modification ICEnhancer don't work with EfLC at all, you can not do anything against it. Downgrading is not possible because version 1.1.0.0 is the "lowest possible version" for EfLC. Yeah, you can use modifications like cars and so. You can basically use any mod that is not a graphics mod but of course some of the graphics modifications like VisualIV and some versions of ICEnhancer work for EfLC but they are in the EfLC folder of the modfolder that you download. You just have to read the 'Read Me' text file and follow the instructions.

Also, if you have both EFLC AND IV installed, there is a glitch if you try to use the original un-patched version of EFLC with a Patched version of IV, to where both games will share the same settings(so you need the patch for EFLC to fix that problem)...found that out when I had IV with Patch 4 and then installed EFLC with no patches...couldn't get around it without installing the Patch for EFLC too...

Also, downgrading means no more online stuff, like MP, etc. as you would need the latest patch for Live and Social Club...?
