nimblelinn
I liked the controls in IV for the most part. But one thing that bothered me was the camera and trying to turn all the way around while driving. At high speeds you couldn't even look right or left all the way. and to look back you had to click and hold the right joystick, which is really hard to do while trying aim and shoot. as far as on foot at times Niko felt sluggish and unresponsive, mostly when you are in tight spaces or tense situations. which is when you need them to be the best. what do you guys think? what would you change? Nopheros
I think the controls in IV were perfect, but it was something annoying about the camera when driving. It was like a little bit diagonally I hope they have fixed that. I hope they have some more controls in the vehicles, like when you press B/Circle it does a cinematic cam, I hope they switch that to something better. Matty
The camera angle in GTA IV, while driving, was done on purpose to give the game a more cinematic feel - it also assists with shooting as there is more of a gap from the drivers side of the car to the left-hand side of the screen. I don't think the camera angle while you're driving will be changed all that much in GTA V. Vehicles we already know will feel 'lighter' then they were in GTA IV. I think they've tightened up the foot controls in GTA V if Red Dead Redemption is anything to go by but you're right though, the foot controls in GTA IV were a little stiff at times. I would imagine character control as well as shooting mechanics in GTA V will be a whole lot more fluid than it was in GTA IV.
nimblelinn
My biggest problem was not the angle of the camera. I got the drivers perspective thing. I just didn't like NOT being able to rotate the camera a full 360 or even 180 degrees when driving faster than about 10 mph. trying to do drive-bys and car shoot outs suffered from this. Imo. I would rather have the old style, than the R3 button. One button looks left, the other looks right, and both together look back. Or keep it the way it was, just don't lock the camera if i start going faster.
YoungChrist
I dont think the problem is with the controls, controls were great in GTA IV. The problem is movement, felt stiff especially when using the cover system. I'd like to see them use them use a cover system as smooth as Max Payne but without the jumping out of cover aspect, thats a Max Payne thing. And also when wielding weapons, having to press X/A to sprint as well felt tedious.
