Idk, i've always wanted to live in california, just because of the scene out there, especially the weed scene. Dispensaries blow my mind. I just got my card last month and it's pretty awesome. Some places overcharge like crazy, but the quality and choices are ridiculous. I have had my card for a couple years now. It's the complete opposite here where I live, the dispensaries have amazing deals. Yesterday I picked up 4 grams of really good sh*t for only 30$. Either way it's nice just being able to walk in and cop with no troubles of tracking it down. I'm still thinking about growing like 10 plants. I hope you can actually smoke the bud that you buy from the dispensary that Franklin pockets. His "Dayyyyuum." sounded like a total pot smoker to me so I believe we can use it. But if not oh well I'll still enjoy walking into the dispensary and looking around seeing if theres bud and any rockstar humor names for each strain. Crazy! Yea i saw a video of this one shop in Denver CO and they were selling oz's for 100$ during some sale they were having. You legal states don't know how fortunate you are. It's not seen as that big of a deal anymore! Plus video games are a way for me to enjoy doing illegal things without taking it up the ass in the shower after. GTAVTheHeat Posted July 13, 2013 Share Posted July 13, 2013 Marijuana is very very prevalent in California in general, medical marijuana is legal, and the mexican drug cartel is very close to la. new york just isn't the type of place that weed really thrives. i fully expect marijuana to be in V in a couple of different ways. First i hope it is actually smokeable in-game just like drinking and getting drunk was in iv. theres a lot of money in weed and i can easily see either trevor or franklin dealing in a mission or maybe as an activity. not to mention michael's son jimmy is a huge stoner. rockstar could definitely parody medical marijuana stores in-game, have radio shows talking about it, having to help medical marijuana places stay open, etc. not to even mention that celebritys get a hold of medical marijuana and la has tons of celebrities. there's just alot of opportunities for weed in GTA V and i don't even see it being a controversy as far as the media goes(except for the really really stupid people). and cali weed...lets just say little jacob would approve of it. medical marijuana in cali on an unrelated note just a funny german christmas http://metro.co.uk/2010/12/09/christmas-tr...s-plant-603282/ p.s. mods i hope you don't have anything against my topic, its an honest discussion about something that is everywhere in california and a big business for the cartel, medical marijuana stores, and california in general. Yeah my biggest gripe would be, if drugs are in the game, why would Marijuana get more attention than say, Methamphetamine? Have they even confirmed anything in the game other than Marijuana? And how come all these Video Game journalists see it in a negative light? Just because its illegal does not make it bad. It just has limitations because like anything, too much could lead to damaging your life. But in moderation could be very beneficial considering you have a reason to self medicate. But back to the topic at hand. Trevor has already claimed dependance to drugs in the game and will be either a major distributor or mule, seeing as how he's competing with The Lost- a biker gang- which would probably be in some form a satire to the Sons of Anarchy (they're drug mules for cartels in the show) As far as is being consumable it would have to have an ulterior function other than being for sale in the game, like replenishing health or giving a temporary boost to a certain stat. If not then it would be empty drug usage and draw unwanted attention. I do realize you were able to do this in SR but that game wasn't going to be as mainstream as GTA or reach as big of an audience. So as far as it making lots of money, I'm sure it will generate revenue for Trevor, but he would contend with The Lost in which case he couldn't keep it up without meeting too much adversity, he'll always be outnumbered and doing heists is much more profitable as well as less dangerous. Fedor Posted July 13, 2013 Share Posted July 13, 2013 I remember playing a game (it must've been Saints Row) where you could buy joints/blunts, smoke them and actually get high and everything off them to the point where your screen would get blurry and everything. They already allowed us to do this with alcohol in IV so I wouldn't mind being able to smoke a little weed here and there on V. I can't really even speak for NY tbh, bc my neighborhood is all rich kids and to my knowledge we get our sh*t from Florida anyway, or at least some of it. And I mean I get some nice stuff but I would kill for some good sour diesel from Cali. Haven't had that sh*t in a minute.
