Which GTA Had The Best Graphical Look/Theme?

    • GTA3 - Too much of gamma filled, pale, dark, gritty, mainly blue/grey colored.
      6
    • GTAVC - No gamma at all, brighter than III (but not colorful), non-color filtered.

    • GTASA - Worst color choices in everything (just look at SF buildings for reference)
      4
    • GTALCS - Low quality of textures with highest level of brightness and gamma. Orange/Yellow color filtered.

    • GTAVCS - Oversaturated, bright, colorful, bloom filled atmosphere. Mixing SA and VC at a lot of point in the graphical way.

    • GTAIV - Simply, realistic. Dark, shadow filled city, grey overtone and at some points, colorless.

Same here. VCS's graphics gave game 80s atmosphere even though it's outdated engine it looks awesome imo.

SA - I love the Orange sky when in Los Santos ghettos. The starry nights are perfect. The sunny desert can't be beat. Rainy days in the backwoods with K-Rose. Prefect atmosphere, and every city's graphic/theme fit's perfectly.

I liked VCS' scheme, but honestly it felt a bit overdone. VC's felt more Scarface-ish IMO.

I liked VCS' scheme, but honestly it felt a bit overdone. VC's felt more Scarface-ish IMO.

Yeah, I love euphoria physics and the cars' handling, also the map layout and HUD, but the map is too "cage - ish" it made me feel trapped, and Niko was a whiner, I mean GTA VCS (my favorite game) had a better backstory, Victor had to gain money for his family, then he meets a woman who falls in love with, then Martinez -his former sergeant- kills her, then the story becomes a story of vengeance instead of the typical rags to riches, then when we complete it we feel hollow, because even if we have businesses and such, we already know that crime does pay at least for Vic because he is shot to death two years later and his brother becomes a backstabbing asshole.

For me it had a better story, dude, in the last mission you have to kill 2 main antagonists that were the main reason the plot changes from "money making" to "vengeance", in IV everything was vengeance. It sucked

Ah fair enough. Don't agree the story is better than GTA IV's, but each to their own. smile.gif

GTA IV had the best graphical looks, but SA is close behind. SA's graphical theme matched the game perfectly. For example, if you're in the desert, it gives you the feeling of actually being in the desert, and they even have dust storms. If you're in the city, it gives you the feeling of being in the city, with all the lights and buildings.

For me San Andreas would be number one, followed closely by the dark and gritty atmosphere of GTA 3. 3rd would be TLAD, it felt so epic dude.

Definitely IV.

 

 

The atmosphere perfectly matched the story in the sense that it showed a connection to Niko's depressed-filled journey. It was of course perfectly able to capture a feeling of say, TBOGT, but they ran the route of dark. I like it.

I hated LCS lighting/filter so much. It ruined the essence of the dark, gritty atmosphere of Liberty City which was meant to be the worst city in America.

 

Sure didn't feel like it in LCS.
