Denikk
Hello. So... I am building a new rig, specifically one that I want to run GTA IV maxed out at 60 FPS on a res of 1400x900. (also, I want it to run GTA V maxed out at around 50 FPS, at the same resolution) I wanted to go for a really tight budged PC but I thought screw that, I wanna be able to play this game perfectly and I want it to look as gorgeous as possible. So I am getting: a 500W Corsair 500CX Bronze PSU a Gigabyte B75-D3V motherboard an Intel Core i5-3470 3200MHz processor. I have 2x2GB Kingston Hyperx 1600Mhz RAM to go along with them. Now my question is the following: What graphics card should I get that's powerful enough to run any game maxed out, but is not incredibly expensive? I have thought about the 2gb GDDR5 AMD Radeon 7850, but it's also kinda pricey. All those keeping in mind that curently I only have 100$, so I'll buy the parts once I get enough money (from doing portraits, or any other mean of getting some money [i am 17 years old and I'm going to pay for this all by myself, so I plan to have the money in June, so before GTA V PC is released]) I will kindly accept any suggestions regarding the components I should buy, so please share your insight with me, as I don't have experience with building PC's. Thank you in advance for your help. EDIT: Also, I will be gaming at 1400x900 resolution, so keep that in mind. I think of getting the 2gb version because I think it's more future proof, since I'm not planing to upgrade my rig too soon after that. luceberg
Just to say that if you want gourgeous, then going for 1920 x 1080 is worth it, for less aliasing and better textures, but for what you are trying to do, the hd6850 is about right. A hd7770 would be the next step down, but would need the settings to be lower.
radioman
[i am 17 years old and I'm going to pay for this all by myself, so I plan to have the money in June, so before GTA V PC is released]) Since you are 17, you could get a regular job and have enough money for the upgrade within 2 weeks..(at $7.79/hr-the current minimum wage and 80 hours in 2 weeks, you can have $623...) lol Luckily, minimum wage just increased the first of this month(from $7.25/hr)-lol So, that is a quick way to get money for the upgrade.. OT- A HD 6850 or a HD7770 would also be good budget cards to use...

(I presume you are talking about the minimum wage in the US) My father's salary for a month would not be enough for this rig, but since I decided to put all the money that I can get on my card, which I never use, I'll keep it at home so I won't spend any. Also, I have school every day until 3 o'clock. My only way of getting some money quicker is by doing portraits. (people say I'm an artist; I don't know if it's suitable for me) I have every doubt that I won't be able to get enough money by the summer, simply because the economy here is bad, I can't get a job, my parents won't ever give me pocket money because, well... they never did, that's just how I got raised. So if I get lucky and I'll be able to sell some portraits I'll get the parts. Otherwise, I guess I'll get to buy the rig in autumn or winter... unc13bud
did they fix the ati bug with the water? cause i remember seeing it with my llano build recently. for only 1440X900, i would just get whatever nvidia card came with 100 shader/cuda cores or more depending on price - ie. a 9800gt for $50 us dollars - gtx 650 ti for $100 would be okay

The thing is I have a 9500 GT, but it's really really slow, can't play anything new, and I want the PC to be future proof. I wanted to go with the llano, crossfiring but it wouldn't give me the performance I seek. I would only be able to play GTA V with aproximately the framerate I played IV with, and it really ruined the game for me.
