ArcaneKnight
If you all have a problem with my opinion then you can cancel your subscription to Xbox Live because I WILL be playing GTA V's online multiplayer as it may be its only saving grace for me, so if you don't want to see or deal with me I suggest you cancel your XBL subscription. And No offense.. but Black Ops 2 KILLED Halo 4, that could've easily been GTA V if they followed through with their intended fall/winter release. It killed Halo on every level, sales you name it. Within the week of release BO2 turned Halo 4 into a ghost town. Went from 100's of thousands of users being on a few of halo 4's different game modes, to no more than a few thousand over 10k. Halo knew they had to release before BO2 dropped otherwise their game would've completely flopped and that would've been the end of the Halo franchise as we knew it. GTA V delayed their release almost a full 6 months just to avoid being anywhere near BO2's release window. Face it COD has a stranglehold on the industry, notice how Rockstar tried to get cute and release their 2nd trailer when BO2 hit shelves to try and steal the spotlight from BO2? Oh you didn't notice that? That's because nobody cared, BO2 was already taking the world by storm. Besides, this GTA game just looks like a bunch of cutscenes anyway. GTA's cutscenes look cartoony or something IDK, the AI in IV had grainy/jagged facial features and all I know is V is running off the exact same engine. BO2's campaign cutscenes you actually see the facial expressions and detail, it pulls you into the story so much more than past GTA's where I found myself skipping them because I got bored, not to mention the AI graphics just aren't as polished so I can't take the characters seriously like I do with COD games. Not only that, COD has the most loyal fanbase in gaming history, that is why they can never fail. You can't find another game that has more die hard fans. The haters just need to face it and deal with it. Come to terms do whatever you have to do, all your whining and complaining isn't going to stop, slow or even deter the COD franchise. They will continue pumping out classic after classic and if you don't like it, then too bad, you can get left behind because you're a straggler and don't matter in the grand scheme of things. Again not trying to turn this into a COD vs. GTA debate as youtube has seemed to have done, but I had to respond to the other kid that called me out. Don't underestimate just how much say COD has in regards to when Rockstar releases their titles in today's era of gaming. They release a new GTA every 4-5 years, going heads up with COD would be disastrous. That said, I will not respond to another COD comment, I'm deading the debate right there with that so don't worry about that mods. This is about how Rockstar is beginning to bother me with their overexaggerated slow motion character walk off explosions. It's like they're making that the theme with all their protagonists to paint a harder/tougher/grittier image for all of them. If they couldn't do that with their dialogue alone then something is wrong here because its not fooling me. I don't like the fact that it seems like if you aren't a blind diehard Rockstar-can-never-do-no-wrong fanboy you are not welcome here. Respect peoples differing opinions and allow people thir right to freedom of expression, if you don't agree then fine, I have no problem with that. I'm just not biased and am able to look at the big picture of gaming as opposed through the lenses of specific gaming genre fanboyism.

shadyslady
i will buy gta 5 right away and not wait for a review. even if this game disappoints in story mode, it will have this huge map and possibilities in multiplayer. now trolls can say "you don't know nothing about mp yet!" but using common sense, we will definitely have GTA RACE RACE DEATHMATCH FREEMODE which is already enough reason for me to buy it! AdvanceTrak RSC
Other than the non sense about the trees all I've heard from people are good things and how excited everyone is to get their hands on the game. But 2 trailers in, I'm seeing a reoccuring theme that is going to piss me off to no end and may just cost Rockstar a sale and long time supporter of the franchise if they seriously don't tone it down. From the trailers, to the screen shots, it's like Rockstar is trying way too hard. Taking scenes from what would be considered B-rated action films/sequences by today's standards. Like Stallone/Schwarzenegger action movies from the 80's and 90's, where every other scene is some explosion with the action star casually and non chalantly walking away in slow motion like it was supposed to make them that much more badass for walkin away all overdramatic like that. But come on, it's 2013 for crying out loud. That might've been cool in the 80's and early 90's but if they tried that now it would just be pure cheese and nobody would be able to take the movie or its actors seriously. Which is why IDK if I can take GTA or its protagonists seriously anymore. Like did they think I was supposed to be more impressed with the protagonist for walking away from an explosion in slow-mo with some mean grin and disregarding flying debris because they want to act like some kind of hardass from the 80's? And before you all try to come in here and tell me not to get the game then.. Listen, I don't need GTA V, pointblank period, I'll tell you that much right now. I was born and raised in the LA area, I know Southern California like the back of my hand, my life will go on just fine without V. It's not like I'm going to be experiencing something completely new for the first time like the majority of you who are not native or familiar to the Socal region. I've grown up and lived the very lifestyles they're trying to depict in V. I'm probably going to recognize everything and end up selling the game after I beat the campaign because I will be bored with the map by then I'm sure. You all might be inclined to go exploring, but not me, I already know the map so I'm getting right into the story mode and plan on beating it within the first 2 days of release and selling it back to game stop for top store credit dollar and using that on the new COD game that comes out later this year. You all entitled to your opinions just as I am, but I was fine with one sequence like that, but now that I know they have multiple scenes like that based off the few SS's they released and the first 2 trailers alone, I'm seriously considering making this my last GTA. And that scene where the kid is swinging by the boat sail is a direct rip off from Terminator 3, where Arnold was swinging around by the ladder crane on top of the Firetruck. Wouldn't be surprised if they rehash the Dirtbike/Semi-Truck sequence in the storm channels from Terminator 2 either. They used to be creative and innovative with their missions and cutscenes, now it seems they compile a bunch of different scenes from old action movies and essentially copy/paste them into their game and try to pass them off as missions they came up with on their own. Again, no offense, but just felt like that was something I had to get off my chest. I hope its not a reoccuring theme in future GTA titles, or for future trailers for that matter. I hope most of those scenes have already been covered with what they've released so far, because if more sh*t like that keeps popping up in the coming months I'm going to get pissed. Its just a game

Wait a second mister Zee 2.0.. You would rather be an arrant boy like in GTA IV where you would go somewhere and end up killing everyone. Without any variation whatsoever. I don't how about you but most normal people (and yes I'm depicting you as not normal judging by this entire post I would be inclined to think you're in fact a troll) prefer entertaining action sequences over being an arrant boy for some failed mobster. Having them react like a "badass" is just a nice added bonus which adds to the whole experience. And before you all try to come in here and tell me not to get the game then.. So you were born in the "hood" started robbing banks when you were older and are now a psychopathic methhead with pyromanic tendencies living in a beat up trailer in the middle of the desert. Not that it would surprise me whatsoever. Anyways, there is no comparison between real Los Angeles and fictional virtual Los Santos. Just so you know it GTA V is in fact a game! I know big shocker! AtomicPunk
If GTA isn't that important to you, then.......why are you here in the forums? The 80's and 90's fu**in' rocked, unlike this lame-a$$ times of today. Compared to the old days, everything today is weaker and pathetic, really. The only game breaker would be a small map or Skyrim-type glitches. I thought trailer #2 was action-packed! Of course R* will draw some inspiration from certain films, but so what? I'm sure there will be plenty of original ideas there as well. No offense, but, you just sound like you need to change your fu**ing Tampon, to me. Andreas
This topic will not end well and also ArcaneKnight, that is how I feel now: Sorry, I couldn't help myself. Okay, I will try to be serious from now! Halo knew they had to release before BO2 dropped otherwise their game would've completely flopped and that would've been the end of the Halo franchise as we knew it. Halo 4 sold 1.9 million copies in the first 24 hours on XBox 360 and it sold 7.39 million copies in total according to vgchartz until today. Is this the result of a flop? I do not think so. GTA V delayed their release almost a full 6 months just to avoid being anywhere near BO2's release window. No, if GTA V was ever supposed to be released in 2012 which is likely considering that the first trailer was released in November 2011, and then delayed to 2013 then it was because anything unusual happened in the development. Rockstar Games has a long history of delaying games and that is a fact. Call Of Duty is in a completely different genre than Grand Theft Auto and the sales wouldn't affect much each other. The sales of GTA V wouldn't decrease because of CoD and even if, then the sales from CoD would decrease as well because each game would affect each other. How do you know that CoD was the reason for the release of the second trailer? They released it because it was the right time since it takes still some time until the release of the game in Spring. So you think that nobody cared about the second trailer? I don't think that 16.62 million views are that low. Besides, this GTA game just looks like a bunch of cutscenes anyway. GTA's cutscenes look cartoony or something IDK, the AI in IV had grainy/jagged facial features and all I know is V is running off the exact same engine. Grand Theft Auto - just a bunch of cutscenes? Have you confused GTA with CoD now? You should replay GTA IV because it doesn't have errors like jagged facial structures/features. I have a slight feel that you want to let GTA look bad to let your so highly praised and beloved CoD look better even though these two games are not related in any way. The cutscenes of GTA don't look cartoony, in fact they look almost exactly like the game in gameplay! GTA V runs on the same engine as GTA IV, that's right but all games from Rockstar Games use the same engine since Table Tennis in 2006 and the engine improved pretty much and Rockstar proved how much the engine can offer. GTA IV already looked good in my opinion but the games that came after it, improved many things and GTA V will be this, what Rockstar learnt in all the years. GTA V will be this what GTA San Andreas was back in 2004/2005, perhaps even bigger and better. BO2's campaign cutscenes you actually see the facial expressions and detail, it pulls you into the story so much more than past GTA's where I found myself skipping them because I got bored, not to mention the AI graphics just aren't as polished so I can't take the characters seriously like I do with COD games. The cutscene graphics in GTA look like the gameplay and I think that is better than when the cutscenes look significantly better than in the gameplay. You can not compare CoD with GTA. CoD is a linear scripted first-person shooter while GTA is a highly dynamic openworld game with complexe AI. Things like the peds, vehicles, the AI of the peds (reactions et cetera), the outstanding details and many more things makes it hard and probably even impossible to represent the graphics of a scripted shooter. You have obviously no idea what you are talking about because if you would know anything from things like this then you would never make a pathetic comparison like this one. I have no idea what the so-called 'loyal fans' have anything to do with the actual quality of the product. Correct, it says nothing about the quality but it can prove that some products are just overrated and Call Of Duty is surely one of them.
