Gavino Satana Posted January 11, 2013 Share Posted January 11, 2013 I've been looking through the topics but I haven't really gotten an "answer," and me and a few friends were talking about this but really couldn't say yes or no. I'm pretty sure you guys know how in the start of San Andreas and GTA IV you pretty much started out broke, and in some instances straight off the boat right? Well in the first and second trailer Michael seems really wealthy, do you think you'd start the campaign with Michael, and not having to work hard for money? I'm aware that Michael use to rob banks and that their are 3 protagonist but in the Trailor Michael seems "set." and the camera is more viewed on him. I think GI said his wife spends all his money so theres that. Also if Michael was already set I don't really see the point of him returning to the life of crime. Michael is Michael, hes probably got the Most money. none of them are just coming to america, breaking out of jail or coming from another place with a couple dollars in their pocket, theyre all career criminals in their own individual lines of work and theyll come together for the purpose of Getting Richer and probably taking care of eachothers laundry so to speak. Valid points. I think it's not a rich/poor thing, never been like that really. In every GTA there is always a catalyst that gets the gears moving. And seeing how Michael seems to have the most to lose (family, identity & money).I think he'll be the one we start with. IMO Michael is just the one we would relate to the most: he's getting back into crime (just like us!) and he's the "straight man" of the three. For example Michael will be the one who we learn the basic controls to run and drive, Franklin will be the one who we learn how to steal cars since he is a Repo man and finally Trevor will be the one who we learn the combat. Michaels wife will spend all his money in the first couple missions, she will spend so much that michael gets into debt........ Michael cant keep up with his car payments, so Franklin enters the story and is sent to repo michaels car, from there they get talking and michael starts seeing parts of the young him in franklin, and from there the budding relationship blossoms!! Do I think he will lose it all? No. Trevor - Doesn't have a lot of money because he blows it constantly on stupid sh*t. Either he has it, or he don't--it doesn't really matter to him, but if he see's opportunity, he will take it just because he likes the carnage. It's just a personality thing. Franklin - Has money, but is hungry for more, and wants more power. He's ready to step-up his game at all costs, no matter what the risk. Matty Posted January 11, 2013 Share Posted January 11, 2013 The Game Informer preview has stated that you would be able to choose which protagonist you start the game as, and would be able to switch throughout the game. Playing as Michael though, I do think that he will start out with more money than the other two protagonists but I don't think it will be as much as some people think. Most of this money will probably have to be spent on weapons and other stuff that will be required during the early stages of the game. The other two characters; Trevor and Franklin, however probably won't start out with as much and will have to work their way up to being able to buy the meatier weapons and gear in the game, in my opinion.
