We only really know a whole lot about Michael so far - we don't know as much about Trevor and we know even less about Franklin. i hated trevor and still do but atleast i have the option to Not play as him. It's not racist, I dislike the character as that type of character in my opinion is done way too much, nothing to do with the color of his skin. Well, especially since people seem to think that he's going to be some gang-banging dude like CJ, even though it's been explicitly stated that he's no longer involved in that game, chastises his friend Lamar for sticking with it, and just overall has higher ambitions. He may have missions involving helping his former gang members with some problems, but the most important aspect of his character is his ambition and desire to break into a better, more rewarding kind of crime. That's a character that's still been done before in GTA but not exactly, particularly in his relationship with the other characters. I think that's an important thing to consider with all three, really. It's not always just the characters themselves but their relationships as well, and how that affects the story. One could dislike a character for relatively superficial reasons, like how they don't like a 'redneck' character or being a snitch, or they don't like how old one of them looks, but I think the most valid reasons for disliking a character is that they end up feeling out of place in the story or simply don't add anything to it, in the worst case even detracting from the story. I don't think that will be the case with any of the protagonists, but those would be the best merits to base one's decision on whether or not they like a character and that's something that will have to wait until experiencing the game's story. Gameplay reasons are the same issue, in a way. We can speculate that Michael is the slowest of the three and make a judgement on that, or what activities each character has access to or who has the best fighting animations. It's still an area that requires more light to be shed upon it. I mean, overall I dislike the notion of comparing the characters on these relatively shallow kinds of merits because it also inspires thoughts of what you'd rather have had, instead of appreciating each of the characters for what they bring to the game. The more you enforce an opinion in that way, the more polarized you become, and it can really affect your enjoyment of the game whether you want it to or not. So I say go into it with as open a mind as possible. There's some stuff you can't avoid, I even opened this post with my own opinions and speculations, but at the same time I personally haven't decided on who will be my favorite character. I like Franklin the least, there's just something about him, I feel as though I don't really know him, he is currently a stranger to me. Trevor, I know he's a crazy pilot. Meh, no need to explain yourself to people on this board. As for the topic at hand, I don't dislike any of them thus far, as I really like them all. I like Franklin the most, if that matters. Some(keyword some) of these so called "ghetto folk" like him for the same reason "most other people" don't like him, so to an extent they're 1 in the same, which speaks to the fact that people can stand people like themselves.(what a treat that is.) Btw, just a question when you say "ghetto folk" who are you referring to? cause as far as I know there are poor marginalize people of all races, ethnicities, creeds etc. all over the world, so your basically saying all people are racist including people like/that look like yourself. What an ironic and major failure of a statement you made trying to single out a group of people, but in turn you unintentionally showed yourself to be the prime example. Franklin looks very generic imo he too looks not so original. a bit like a mix between cj and luis lopez...even rockstar says so. maybe rockstar was scared to only bet on michael. he seems very original. the whole idea is original for a gta theme. but as we know, too many people complained about him being too old, etc etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
