TenEightyOne
Try explaining to the PCSOs why you're in jeans, cowboy boots, blood-stained-T and carrying a replica shotgun. Ash_735
I cosplayed once last year with a few mates, I went as Max Payne. The thing with GTA characters, really, is that there's no iconic outfit, since you can change clothing in GTA games, and the choices are usually pretty normal and common, hell, the only stand out costume I can really think of is Tommy Vercetti's Blue Hawaiian Shirt, and even then you'd have to nail the hair and facial hair to even look remotely close. Def it would be easier to cosplay as Max Payne -- fat bald guy with mirroed shades and a multicolored Hawiian shirt. But yeah, walking around with a toy gun at midnight is a good way to attact a hail of police bullets, or a least a prolonged tasering / beating session. It might be wise to have a friend tagging along behind in the shadows with a low-light video camera, so he gets it on video and if you survive you can sue the cops and make some dough. VickeX
Cosplaying is awesome. Never done it myself but i love the culture. Why the hate guys? I would problably consider going as Trevor if only i was going to a midnight release in a bigger city. The gamestore in my city doesn't do midnight releases, and i usually pre-order games online. Edit: To you guys saying that cosplay isn't fitting for GTA - bullsh*t! If there's anything even a bit iconic somebody can cosplay. Imagine you and your friends rolling up to the midnight release queue in a Bugstars-painted van, dressed in the full pest controll outfit, complete with gasmasks and everything. In fact, now that i've given you the idea, i'd be terribly disappointed not to see it happen. Someone in here needs to make it happen! Ben73
99% of GTA fans would think you're off your head if you cosplayed for GTA release. If you dressed up as Trevor everyone will be wondering why a meth addict is at a game store. Probably assume you are about to perform an armed robbery with a syringe or trying to sell some stolen games and consoles.

Talking about cosplay, he's problably the most iconic character, that's why i mentioned him. And why are people interested in him? Because from what we know he's a stone cold psychopath. His entire characteristics is based around what GTA protagonists can, will and have always done... go crazy and blow everybody up. How is that just a "wildcard"? saintsrow
only girls should cosplay, or guys that want to be treated as such Everybody thinks it's a bad idea, until a chick shows up dressed as the "V" bikini babe, taking self-snaps with her iFruit. Then people will be thinking, hey, this cosplay's not such a bad idea... No worry about the weather being too cold for bikinis -- it should be plenty warm in July or August, for the GTAV midnight launch. August. Haha, you're quite the funny guy. Let's open up the definition of GTA cosplay just a bit, to make it easier. What GTA-themed stuff (not just GTAV) might you bring or wear to the midnight launch? There are lots of possibilities. Rockstar is already selling GTAV shirts, of course. But one of the aspects of cosplay is that the participant makes or customizes some of their stuff, so it is unique and not simply a commercial item. And many of the fun GTA in-game brands have not been licensed to third parties for selling, so, for example, players could make t-shirts or hoodies with GTA-themed logos, like Ammu-Nation or Pißwasser. Here's the whole set of GTA brand logos in one place. Or here's an idea: I would say that bringing toy AK's or Uzi's is probably not a good idea. People might dress up as Niko / Sasha. I might print some of my GTAV Bumper Stickers and bring them to the midnight launch. Anybody who can convince some hot chicks to show up as the bikini babe for the midnight launch, I would encourage that. Bring a coat for her -- it's going to be chilly in September -- or so.... Fuzzknuckles
No. I won't be dressing up, because I am an adult. I've only ever been to one midnight release, for Skyrim, and it was one of the most horrible things I've ever witnessed - all of these lardy, greasy haired weirdos looking at me like I was one of them. Sure, I'm a little fat and have long greasy hair, but that's NOT THE SAME THING. Signatures are dumb anyway.
