Miss Darko
GTA is not really the kind of fandom that works with this. I mean, the characters don't dress in a particularly iconic or fantastical way, and have many different outfits in the later games, and the fanbase is not really the kind of geeky or nerdy kind associated with stuff like Star Wars, or Lord of the Rings, or Star Trek, which are much more conducive of that culture. Not that I knock it, I'm quite a bit of a nerd and geek myself, but I wouldn't expect most GTA fans to dress up for GTA-related events, even if they are willing to do so for other things they are fans of. bobdude100
No bro, not even a midnight release for me. I got a life will wake up at a normal time in no rush to get to my local wal-mart don't even have to pre order it.
saintsrow
Lol no. Just no. Who does that in public. Yeah, I only do cosplay in private. It's so much less perverted that way I think it's a good idea. It might be difficult to to do cosplay for this game, however, since the protags are fairly normal looking, except for Trevor, whom probably half the GTA fans in line will resemble, without even attempting to dress up for it No. Please lock this mods. Very stupid wasteful topic. Another extremely useful forum post, bringing up the average intelligence level of the GTAF. Geez, what a sourpuss. saintsrow
only girls should cosplay, or guys that want to be treated as such Everybody thinks it's a bad idea, until a chick shows up dressed as the "V" bikini babe, taking self-snaps with her iFruit. Then people will be thinking, hey, this cosplay's not such a bad idea... No worry about the weather being too cold for bikinis -- it should be plenty warm in July or August, for the GTAV midnight launch.

kricco
I ain't never seen or neither heard about a GTA cosplay before, so this could be something new. But I won't cosplay. I have a full set of suit. Suit, pants, shirt, tie and shoes.
Miss Darko
Well, you know, now that I think of it, the clothes are common enough yet the styles of each character are recognizable enough that a group of three friends could probably do it without it looking too ridiculous but just doing something kind of fun that might make the wait go a little faster if they're waiting in line and people point it out. I could see some groups of friends having a guy dressed in a dirty white tee, another in a suit, and another in a white long sleeved under-shirt and collared over-shirt. Not going out of their way to make themselves look like the characters, wearing a certain style of clothing. And for some people it wouldn't be that far from the way they normally dress. Still kinda odd. But hey, if you're going to be doing that whole midnight release thing, it could make things a bit more interesting for both yourself and others, without it being so much effort that it becomes overly geeky or weird. Guest
Most people these days cosplay Trevor without even being aware of it. After all, it's real '#swag' to dress like that isn't it?
baguvix_wanrltw
I think you'll get more positive reactions on Kotaku, the "gaming" "blog" which consists of 50% "look at those japanese cosplayers! so awesome cause japan!!!!111", 25% "this isnt really news, everyone knows this already", 20% "some guy stabbed some guy, and both had consoles - IN JAPAN!!!! HOW COOL!!! JAPAN!!!!!11 And look, sh*tty food from Japan. JAAAAAPAAAAAAN!!!!!!!!!1111"; and 5% actual gaming news. This is a gaming forum, specific to a very "gangster" type of game. We don't cosplay. Besides it is 100% free of any sense whatsoever to dress up like someone who is dressed up like a normal person. Just dress normal right away, how bout that? Save yourself some money and dignity.
