In my opinion, Houser, in making this statement, is saying that although Trevor is a psychopath; he probably has a somewhat good side to him as well without being a "hero type" of character. A good boy growing up, has an actor for a father and mother in Vinewood (Hollywood). Had a charmed life Pretty smart coming out of school being first in class and all, but something secret he saw in Vinewood provoked him to join the military and see the world, just to get away. He cared about the military until his secret followed him there. He then started boozing, boozing turned to drugging, and got someone killed while on a mission as he was under the influence. Because of his background, he wasn't dismissed without honors, but was told thanks but no thanks. He thens turns to a life of paying back the society who has fooled him with it's lies. He finds another young up and comer named "Michael" and they go on heist together until they get caught and told to agree to a deal to be lackies and informants. Trevor says no way and decides to do his time. Upon getting released, his father, mother, and all ill gotten gains have been taken from him. He has nothing and vows to never set foot in that ritzy life again. He is determined to make his niche in the deserts of Los Santos where he makes a tidy living on fear by running illegal "businesses", but revenge is on his mind for those who betrayed him. It's your opposite Riches to Rags story that happens all to often in L.A. and it's seedy underground of glitzy fame and government secrets. HAHA this is just a shot in the dark.
