Drop in Drop out

I know this may sound tacky but i think it would be great idea. I know that the LEGO game series is most famous for using this feature ( and dont accuse of loving that crap ) but i think it would be great for me and my friend to play just us two,for example if i would prefer more dangerous flying but i know the other protags will be unable to take out the enemy as fast as i would like i could ask my friend to shoot while i fly dangerously low action sequences like these would provide a much more enjoyable mission plus hilarity and teamwork with friends.

I liked the co op in San Andreas but disliked the having to stay close to my friend as this made parachuting nearly impossible which is why id prefer it to be split-screen.

 

I'm wondering if this is even possible as well because i doubt the consoles could handle me playing as Franklin taking chop for a leisurely drive around los Santos while my friend is going a hundred miles an hour in a jet over the desert.

 

And don't start saying 'go play lego star wars'' or everyone's favorite ''this isn't what gta is like''

all i gotta say is 3 characters is not what gta has done before however its a kick ass idea, don't spend time worrying if it'll ruin the gta franchise because this is just my idea that is 90% to not be in GTA V (most likely higher)

pretty sure rockstar confirmed this isn't happpening offline. i think they said something to satisfy that need would be available online though.

There is a reason Mario still does really well in sales.

Dude has been doing the same thing basically forever, but people like to play with friends in the same room.

Unfortunetly this will never happen, when to play against one of your friends, they sell a minimum of 2 copies of the game.

 

What sux is I only have an xbox 360 (I'd love to own both, but alas I need to put money on more important things) and REFUSE to pay for xbox network on top of the internet. I'm not even that interested in online multiplayer, I'd still like to dabble in it since they refuse to give me the option to play with my equally poor buddies in the same room.
