Very few PCs will be able to max this.

It's really telling on the current state of raytracing that the recommended cards for 1440p and above, which anyone raytracing is probably playing at, are brand new nearly unobtainable cards, it was the same for Watch Dogs 3 too which actually updated their sys reqs for them. Think it's gonna be a few years yet before raytracing becomes a properly usable feature.

It’s hard to tell, yeah. I’ll at least be playing with minimum rtx, like it doesn’t even take dlss into consideration on that spec sheet, right? Control held up pretty nice with rtx enabled and dlss on my 2070S. Like I kinda want to see something like War Thunder’s and Cold War’s DLSS comparisons.

Got this one:

Spoiler

jHboXfYg.jpg

AMD Ryzen 9 3900X

ASUS GeForce RTX 3080 TUF OC GAMING

ASUS TUF GAMING B550-PLUS

ASUS TUF GT501

ASUS ROG RYUJIN 360

Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 32 GB DDR4-3200 Dual Kit

be quiet! POWER ZONE 850W

Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1 TB

Samsung 860 QVO 2 TB

WD Gold Enterprise Class 16 TB

Probably won't be able to really max out everything, but it will look very good.

How is 1060 equivalent to 1660S? The latter should be around 20% faster.

The official requirements don't really reveal much beyond what we knew. On the lower end, RX 590 is ~20% faster than GTX 1060, and GTX 1660 Super is ~30% faster (TechPowerUp), so it's odd they're all lumped together: GTX 1060 would be more on par with RX 580 and GTX 1650 Super (unless they're implicitly trying to say these two are not enough but then it would be interesting to know why). And maximum video RAM usage can't be the same for both 1080p and 1440p: in other words, if 6 GB is enough for the latter, you can probably get away with less for 1080p (which could be more than 4 GB though).

Then it seems +2 GB is needed for ray-tracing but 6 GB would be still be enough for "RT Minimum" at 1080p: in which case however, if you have to give up texture quality to get ray-tracing, would it be worth it? And this is moot anyway since in practice it looks like you'll want GTX 3070 or better for ray-tracing anyway, and they all have at least 8 GB memory.

The rest of the requirements are fairly typical (in particular, CPU doesn't seem to be much of a factor: anything decent should do; and storage size is 70 GB regardless), so there's no need to repeat it across all the columns in the table. I guess I'm complaining a bit here but since CDPR is notable for doing many things better, they could really present all this in a more intelligent way.

Basically, it looks like it all boils down to:

  • Basic setup: GTX 780/970/1060 or better and 3 GB memory minimum, 6 GB at most, more memory won't make a difference
  • Best setup: GTX 3070 at least but then you'll still have to be choosing between ray-tracing and "ultra details" at 2160p
  • There's no upper bound, any hardware available (or not available) now is going to be pushed to the limit, I think the lack of any mention of "60 fps" is telling

Anyway, we'll all find out soon.

No mention of DLSS within those setting?

Aye, nothing.

Nothing at all i don't think. Was hoping for some comparison such as these, for something that would be a huge factor for RTX cards.

I'm just glad I'll be able to get 1080p on high according to that chart. :)

I expect that the settings above are "native", IE without DLSS enabled. With DLSS I reckon I might be able to hit the 1440p "RT High" on my RTX2080.

If not, I'll probably have to dial down the RT settings.

And a bit more information regarding the games photomode.

...okay, that's a cool surprise - so that immediately elevates photo mode to the same level as the ones in Horizon Zero Dawn and Shadow of the Tomb Raider:

Yea with photo mode now being mostly standard in any big game, posing is the next thing I hope becomes standard, especially for open world stuff, it really opens up the possibilities for snaps.

Rumours of gameplay already out there. Edit: Yeah, so from what I saw it’s 20mins leaked ps4 gameplay which I flicked through. Got me even more hyped. Just be careful on where you look now.

Yup, and that gameplay seems to be on PS4 and not without its issues... eek.

Please don't link to it here btw as we might get some angry emails as it has happened with other game publishers before.

so if the game is really already out there with certain leaks, this means its definitely coming on 10th december?

So I'm guessing the game disc manufacturing didn't get delayed, perhaps even the shipping to retailers in some cases, so there's tons of Cyberpunk just out there sitting waiting to be sold right now.

No surprise to see the base consoles struggle a little, they are practically underspec at this point, the slow HDD's won't help either.

If they were even considering it, I doubt they'll do it now. This will force their hand and set the 10th date in stone no matter what.

The game already went gold, meaning disc printing started. The delay to December 10th didn't stop that, the discs that exist right now only have the base version without a day 1 patch. Any (leaked) gameplay that you see right now is what the game would've been on the November 19th release. Also iirc review copies have been sent, so the chance of another delay 2,5 weeks before the release is next to nothing.

I doubt there will be more delays. They just can't afford it.

I've watched the leaked gameplay, there's no big deal. The main menu music sounds cool by the way.

CDPR can easily financially afford more delays, The Witcher 3 has been printing cash for them for years and they are an independent studio meaning there's no publisher above them pushing the game out. There are shareholders to please but I imagine they are all quite content with how CDPR are running the show. But they are under an awful lot of pressure from fans to get the game out and delays are terrible for developer morale too.

They won't delay it now though, it's going to be like the TLOU2 situation but even worse I think, the game is out there now and more copies are gonna appear over the next few weeks so they risk the entire game being spoiled for players and that can have an impact on sales so, the 10th will now be set in stone I imagine.

I haven't seen really anything but 2 or 3 screens of the leaked stuff but it's running without the delay-worthy day 1 patch and on ancient HDD's, so that will likely explain some technical issues people are seeing but I have seen people say that it still looks good visually. I really do think that the HDD will be a major issue for the game on last gen consoles, there's a reason other big AAA games are all recommending SSD's as standard now, I think asset streaming has reached a point where HDD's just can't keep up.

To think the copies are out in the wild and that we're still a good few weeks away from release is pretty scary.

Yeah I'm just waiting for some PS4 footage and I'm gonna go in complete blackout. The next few weeks are gonna be tough.

CDPR must've been sh*tting bricks for a week or two knowing physical copies are out there hoping they don't leak. Gonna be an even longer two and a half weeks for those devs now.

I skimmed through the leak. Didn't want to spoil anything too much and I kind of feel bad for CDPR. I mean they should really have the game presented first the way they want. The guy playing it in the leaks sounds baked and he just sounds super giddy and excited that he has a game he's not supposed to have rather than being excited for the actual game.

First impressions are that it's looking great. I'm impressed by the sheer amount of objects in the world - even if it's just trash on the ground, I love seeing all that detail. The place looks really lived in. And the driving physics look pretty decent. I would say they look close enough to GTA V, or perhaps even improved. Maybe somewhere between GTA: IV and V which is reassuring.

These next 3 or so weeks are going to be long but will be worth it. Going to try not see too much content between now and then. Do a little Cyberpunk hype-detox.

Not to go into spoiler territory, there was a moment within that gameplay leak were V went onto a lookout tower or something and you could just about make out Night City on the horizon over the desert plains...the f*ckin scope of this game, though.

I've already whacked spoiler protections on my self. Don't really need or want to see anything more of the game and I want it all to be a fresh as possible day 1.
