Listen NG+ is a nice feature and all but I swear if it's one of the big "selling" points of the next update I'ma flip.

Really tired of seeing it farmed out post-launch as a big new feature in games.

But the game really needs NG+, ppl need a reason to do multiple playthroughs, ppl should benefit of them. NG+ should have been a thing with version 1.5 already IMO. But there also needs to be a way to redistribute all attributes in an official way, not by using mods.

The story is what makes the game great, and you can only stretch a playthrough for maybe 100-150 hours, depending on how you play the game. It sucks having to start from scratch everytime after your through the game. It would be nice to play it with official NG+ and rebalancing of the enemy levels, so if you start the game at level 50, the enemies are level 50 and they use level 50 clothing and weapons too. They should raise the level cap to 80 IMO, so ppl can still progress further after one full playthrough, it would also make the choice of skilling the char easier and better. Imagine having Cool, Reflexes, Body and Technical Ability very high, we could finally level up a lot of skills much further.

I currently got a char with lot of Body, Reflexes and Technical Ability, and it sucks i can't level up any Cool perks anymore, if i sneak up to enemies i don't gain anything from it and it sucks. I mean we are the ultimate killer machine already anyway, it wouldn't make the balance so much worse if we could level up to level 80, if the enemies still level up to our level. It would make everything much less tedious and more fun, it's a singleplayer game, let us be totally ultimate killer machines.

We can still increase the difficulty slider to max if we want bulletsponges and if we wanna die fast. I mean it wouldn't change much, but we could have more variety how we aproach missions.

Oh I'm not saying NG+ shouldn't be added, I'm saying it should've been in at launch. Sony in particular have made a real bad habit of launching games w/o NG+ then very coincidentally adding it as a big bullet point in an update a few months after launch.

It's one of those features that if it's planned it should be in at launch IMO.

Would just be frustrating if NG+ and transmog are the big new features coming with the next patch imo.

You can't expect very much from version 1.6, it's probably still mostly bug fixes and minor small things. Maybe they add a side mission, and some new crime scenes, clothing and weapons, NG+, Transmog and that's it. And the DLC also won't be a huge gamechanger, no idea why ppl still have high hopes for something big to happen. All they do now is polish the game some more, release that one and only DLC and then the game is "finished". Then they will focus on the new Witcher game using Unreal Engine 5, and after that they will probably work on another Cyberpunk that also uses UE5 engine. I am pretty sure they learned from their mistake, they won't publish another unpolished game.

If we are lucky Cyberpunk 2077 2 or whatever year it will take place in, will be released in the year 2030 if we are lucky.

On tuesday we will know what the new update brings. The update will be released directly after the Night City Wire video stream, like the last time.

I'm not holding my breath for anything major with the 1.6 patch, especially after that message from one of the devs to keep your expectations in check. I would be happy with any new content, be it transmog, NG+ or something else.

I finished up a bit more of the storyline, visited Fingers and managed to save Evelyn. I unlocked the skill that gives my pistols a +15% damage buff when enemies are 5+ meters away. That allows me to pretty much one shot kill most enemies with a silenced pistol now. It fits nicely in my pistol build, though it can feel OP at times. Also did the ''Riders on the Storm'' quest again, I think it's my favorite mission in the entire game. The rescue part is so-so, though it's nice the game lets you approach it any way you want. The talk with Panam at the farm has some great writing and performance though. Moments like that is when Cyberpunk really shines in my opinion.

Must be nice to enjoy the story for the first time. :kekw:

I played through the game directly after release, i finished the game with just the day one patch. But honestly i had the feeling it looked much better back then, than how it does now. Due to perfomance optimizations they must have downgraded the graphics a bit.

I don't think there's any noticeable changes. The game still looks gorgeous.

There was also a similar shot in the Next-Gen Trailer of V w/ the gorilla arms. I think the cutscene is early on?

It's still more than likely that we're getting NG+ & transmog.

Oh no, this is my second playthrough 😄 my first playthrough was at the release as well, but it's been about a year and a half since I finished it, so all the details are a bit fuzzy. Bonus is that I can play it on a more powerful PC now.

It seems like the Edgerunner content will be a bit more fleshed out than the game just handing you the gear (inspired content & missions, hmmm).

I'd imagine it's only gonna be a handful of them. I'd be surprised if the radio stations will get updated with original songs composed for the Edgerunners anime.

I think the 1.6 patch will be of a smaller scale compared to patch 1.5.

New game plus would be welcome, but for me it's only because they dropped the origin thing so hard. Whether you're street kid, corpo or nomad is meaningless beyond the first half hour, when this could have been much more meaningful, and added the variability to a new playthrough that might see me give it another go.

For example, I played as street kid, which meant nothing other than the very first thing you do. After that there's no difference. But what if instead of meaning nothing, a street kid start meant you have a different apartment down the barrio, while corpo has a high-rise and nomad's out in the desert? That a street kid had access to unique tools for subterfuge and thievery? That unique items were available at the fence, or that a street kid got special pricing at stores that make sense. Maybe a street kid gets specific unique information about missions, marks and opportunities. Even if these examples are not the best, you can see what I am getting at. That CDPR completely dropped the ball with these origins.

I have to believe that much more was intended but cut, because honestly there's no difference at all regardless of which one you choose. It's wasted motion. But if each of these origins brought out unique opportunities, game play and narratives it would probably be enough to compel a replay on its own.

New missions might be the 'cut' (or perhaps more accurately 'WIP') missions that people have datamined in earlier patches - not sure how Edgerunners-related they might be, though, so maybe there's more.

"New features" is ...well, that's the biggie, isn't it? Could be the bigger-ticket stuff like transmog or NG+, but I'd be glad of more stuff like 'change your hair/cosmetics at a mirror' update. Maybe this might be something like 'rework your face/body at a ripperdoc', or even full respec options - features that aren't huge (because they're just a case of adding existing character creation features to vendors in the open world), but nevertheless welcome.

Same would be true of 'new' vehicles: even just some cheap options to buy/unlock currently-unobtainable existing variants (the Shion Targa, for example) would be a quick-but-worthwhile way of adding more 'stuff' without making this a hugely involved update. Overall, I'm not expecting 1.6 to be some vast game-changer (I'd expect anything more substantive around the time of the expansion*), but there's plenty like the above they could do to just make good use of what's already there.

*speaking of which, wonder what stuff people are going to dig up on PC when 1.6 drops... 🤔

They normally don't do an announcement like this for patches, and they specifically said 'new stuff' is coming in 1.6. So this isn't just a bug fix patch. I'm guessing they'll be adding new cosmetic items, weapons and transmog. If we're lucky, they'll have added in a proper police system. the devs have commented on that and know it's one of the most requested features.

And how is that meant, that NG+ won't be part of the update or that it's not the coolest thing of it?

Very cryptic IMO.

It means, whether or not NG+ is a thing they're working on, they aren't showing it tomorrow.

Just a few bullet points from the stream - I'm guessing these things are included in the new Edgerunners update (1.6):

- Wardrobe aka transmog system is in!

- Ripperdocs can now be used to resculpt your face/body (don't need a mod for this anymore, yay)

- New hairstyles and customization options.

- Nibbles the cat can now pose with V in photo mode. Best update ever.

Coming in the future:

- Complete overhaul to the police system, and vehicle-to-vehicle combat.

Decent additions overall, the wardrobe system looks like a good implementation and new weapons is good cause the weapon variety was lacking a bit. Rogue hairstyle being in the vanilla game is nice, it's a very popular modded hairstyle.

The arcade cabinet to me is like... it's nice to have that sort of thing in but adding just 1 feels a bit eh. What the game needs in that regard is being able to go to bars, order drinks (without a vendor menu), dance, hang out with characters/romance partners, buy from the food vendors, being able to interact with the market stalls etc.

Performance mode on a Series S is nice though, 60fps Cyberpunk while still looking very decent on a £250 box is nice, even if the FPS is not a locked 60 which I doubt it is going by the footage lol.

Ooooooh the official modding kit, that's very noice.

Also, 1.6 is out on Steam now, 18.4gb.

Maybe it's time I finally go meet Hanoko at Embers and finish my first playthrough, lol.

Transmogrification (commonly referred to as transmog, tmog, xmog or simply mog) provides the ability to replace the appearance of your armor and weapons with those of other items, or to hide certain pieces of armor.

Yea transmog is an old name for it, more modern games tend to use outfit/wardrobe stuff but it's basically just being allowed to look how you want to look. Pre-1.6 you had to choose to look how you want to look or wear the stuff with the best stats.

Ahh, thanks for the quick response. I wont have to wear hats now for the extra armor

Im not sure, if you can really just take off the hat, but you can replace ugly hats with the look of another hat.

I haven't tested the transmog ingame yet.

Yea I didn't see any confirmation of a "hide helmet" option so I'm not sure if that's in, haven't downloaded the patch yet to check.

You can however make multiple outfits and switch between them in the invent screen, so you could make an outfit w/o a hat and one with and swap between them for combat. Not ideal, but better than it was before.

New features look nice but here's the most underrated change of this update:

Quote
  • V won't continuously fidget in Character Creation anymore.

Words can't express how infuriating this was during my character creation. Surprised it took them so long to fix it.

The DLC looks intriguing. Haven't finished the story yet so I'm a bit out of the loop but the environments look great. The fact they have promised upgrades to vehicular combat and the police system is very promising.
