We couldn't have asked for a better start to 2022. Thank you for voting Cyberpunk 2077 the winner in the "Outstanding Story-Rich Game" category! 💛

This is weird, i haven't touched the game for a long time, after 1 and a half playthroughs i was kinda done with it, was hoping for a DLC, but no nothing happened. And now it wins this award, i don't really understand why they won the price, hmm maybe because most games of 2021 sucked, so they picked a 2020 game as the winner.

Or maybe because the game came out so late in 2020 it wasn't nominated for any major awards until the following year.

Yea it was available for nomination because it came out too late for most end of year awards.

As for why it was nominated and won... well it's voted for by Steam users, who are incentivized to vote in every category during both nominations and for the winner and the vast majority of people tend to vote for the games they've heard of. Steam review are great but the Steam awards are basically a popularity content with absolutely no creditability as an actual award. Hell, the popularity contest problem was so bad that you now can't nominate a game multiple times resulting in people voting for their #1 game for GoTY and then having to scrape the barrel for the rest.

Nice to Cyberpunk get some love. All the meme-ry aside, it really is a gem of a game. Uncut in a lot of places, but a gem nonetheless.

Also there seems to be some rumors going around of a ''soft reboot'' edition from the game, like here https://www.neogaf.com/threads/cyberpunk-2077-samurai-edition-up-4chan-rumour-appears-to-be-discredited.1626958/ .

4chan rumors so take it with a giant grain of salt, but thoughts? Reading it, it seems mighty interesting.

  • The combat zone is being fought over by two new gangs: The Bozos (violent clown psychopaths with a sick sense of humour) and a gang called Slaughterhouse (violent psychopath fascists)
  • Walking around the combat zone feels very inspired by the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Hmm, hopefully this isn't some dudes wishlist. Seems interesting, though.

Do wonder if we'll get a new game + 🤷‍♂️

That leak was debunked by a CDPR employee.

It read very, very much like a wishlist and we should all know how wishlist like leaks go - in the bin.

Paul Tassi does a good article on that 'leak.'

I think it's highly improbable that we will have a game anywhere near what we all anticipated before the release. I don't think 1 year would have been enough. I think 2 years more work at least. I think this last year was just more focussed on removing bugs and the next gen update will be more cosmetic than anything else. I'm not basing this on evidence, I'm kind of just going on my intuition.

I would like to see more life-style things added as well as just more things to flesh out the world:

  • The monorail stations operational like that recent mod
  • Barbershops
  • More apartments with garages to store cars
  • Pedestrians doing more things than aimlessly walking around.
  • More peds to make things feel more alive. More during the day, less at night.
  • Some new discoverable interiors could be nice too.

As for content, I would love to see more jobs and side missions but really, I would love for them to flesh the world out a bit more. Make it really feel lived in.

They should finally fix the shadows of our char, mine is still bald if i look at the shadow. Sure it's just a visual bug, but it's always there and annoys the hell outta me.

And the car handling is so bad, they need to bring that to GTA V level at least, and why we can't do any wheelies with bikes it's ridiculous.

Played like an half hour of it today, after many months, game is still a buggy mess. And i got the feeling the perfomance is even worse than before all these patches.

I actually really like the car handling on release. Think they tweaked it about 2 weeks after that. Can't say it was an improvement or not but I always thought it was OK for the type of game it is. But that's just me.

Yeah, if they fix the bugs (although it's not bad on Series X), it will be nice to have this presentable, relatively bug-free, definitive edition with the graphics upgrade. Something that feels more complete or at least works and looks well, even if a lot of content is cut and elements not originally implemented like police chases. If it looks good and functions well then it would be nice to even think of a Cyberpunk part two. Maybe that will come after another Witcher? I don't know if they are done with that series or not.

I just hope the possibility of a Cyberpunk sequel doesn't get canned even if that's going to be 10 or more years away.

Did anyone hear from Mike Pondsmith and what his reaction to the controversy is? I feel sorry for him because he was really behind CDPR and they kind of let him down big time too.

I never had any issues with Cyberpunk driving system, whether we're talking about the original one or the one after a patch, which only changed sensitivity of the turning if I recall correctly. In my opinion is pretty good for a game that doesn't put driving on the foreground and I definitely had fun with it, with bikes and cars alike. Why would someone prefer GTA V mario cart driving is beyond me, when Cyberpunk, not being a driving game has physics, where every car is slightly different and You can feel and difference between RWD or 4x4 systems.

I still love the game and I play it. I started my third playthrough yesterday, this time opting for a corpo woman, proficient in smart weaponry and katanas. Somehow, this game grabbed me the balls and I still cannot stop playing it nor think about its characters. I hope that CDP won't drop the IP too soon and we'll get the DLCs and maybe a sequel in the future. Maybe it's naivety on my part, but I can't get it out my head. And to think I wasn't even that eager to play it before the premiere.

I was looking if Mike Pondsmith addressed any of the criticism surround the game after the premiere, but I couldn't see anything solid in that matter. CDP kind of let Pondsmith down, but at the same time which other developer could do it better? Many AAA devs got a missteps recently (EA with Battlefield, Ubi with FC6, etc.) and without CDP there would be no Cyberpunk game at all. Licence was there since 1988 and nobody tried to do anything with it, through all these years.

This would be a good addition.  Considering there are countless doors that the player can interact with, only for it to say 'Closed' or 'Locked'.

Haven't played the since it released but decided to reinstall and give it another go. Driving is still awkward and when on foot my screen does this weird jumpy thing at times when walking near random clutter. But aside from some wonkiness I'm enjoying it much more. Just got a Quadro Turbo Avenger car thing, cool teched out muscle car.

I just discovered smart weapons as well. Game changer for me, I can't aim for sh*t. These guns got homing bullets, perfect for a noob like me.

Yeah smart weapons are also my weapons of choice in the game, there even is a smart explosive shotgun, and a smart sniper rifle. But the best smart weapon is "Divided We Stand", after finishing the quest before you get the weapon, you should quick save, to be able to reroll the weapon stats, until you got the ones on it you like. Should be done with all "iconic" weapons IMO.

This is how you get "Divided We Stand"

It really needs one. The minute I finished playing I longed for a new game +

The upgrades and build I had were so sweet. It still baffles me how games, especially RPG's, keep launching without the NG+ option even though fans always beg for it, then try and squeeze it in with an update later.

Always feel like this is intentional, tbh. Sure in some cases it might be a case of not enough time but to me it feels like them trying to use it as an update to bring people back or sell the game to new players etc. As you say, it's become such a standard feature in many genres of single player games yet always seems to be left out only to appear a few months later as part of a big update.

That all being said, I'd really like a overhaul to the games loot and gear before they do anything like that but I don't see them doing that for a single player title so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Smart weapons are cool, but watch out while using them against Tyger Claws. These bastards use the imprint, You can get from Wakako for saving Sandra Dorsett, which makes the guns miss them more often than it hits. Of course two can play that game and their weapons won't work that well on You if You have that tattoo as well.

And of course Divided We Stand may be easily acquired by just shooting the guys and getting gun for yourself if You wish. While the quest got nice rewards even if You won't win (a lot of XP iirc), You may "win" the main prize without taking part ;)

Looks like the PS5 version was added to the PS database, indicating the patch may be soon.

I do wonder if they'll treat this as a relaunch, ie a new version of the game. I know other games have done this in the past, especially if they've had a rocky launch, so they can be re-reviewed and get a new review page.

Saying that, they've dismissed the wishlist leaks so I'm slightly concerned this really is just a next-gen patch for consoles and some fixes. It's not gonna land well if it's not got some significant changes and additions.

I certainly hope it's a relaunch. I'm dying for some Cyberpunk action. However, I've left it so long since I last played the story is going to a little fragmented in my poor memory.

My expectations for this 1.5 patch or next gen patch are extremely low. My biggest gripe with Cyberpunk wasn't bugs because I actually didn't notice many on XSX. What bothered me most is the empty feel about the place. It just doesn't feel like a city. It looks beautiful, plays beautiful but it's cold and empty. And just adding some pedestrians and traffic really brought me back to pre-release times when we didn't know better. I'll post the mod below...

I was just looking for some Cyberpunk news on YouTube. Patch 1.5 is supposed to be near. But as I was doing that I found a modded version of the game which adds more ped and traffic. Just seeing all the pedestrians and cars got me excited. I also try not to watch too much modded content as I play solely on console and I'd hate to spoil my experience of the game by being teased by things we wont ever have on console/official updates but I do think increased ped and traffic density is plausible. What do you guys think?

Massive sleep.

No thanks, the game needs much more than a muh graphics update.

Given the current state of the game's mechanics, let's see if the expansion(s) will make it do a 10 years jump and bring it au courant with the current game releases.

Since the cover was already published I wonder what time period we're looking for when the patch will be live? Week? Two weeks?

I don't expect anything spectacular, but some changes for next gen like increased density of cars and peds would definitely be nice (to return with the values to the level we had around the premiere) and some additional graphic modes (ray tracing?) would be welcomed. I would also like to see some additional gigs, especially from Mr Hands, who has only one. If we're taking about the bugs game is working well on Xbox One X and the issues I encounter are mostly items glued to the ground.

We know that CDP invited some mod makers into development, instead of fighting them, so maybe we will see some mods incorporated into the game?

How is the game on PS4? I'm talking in terms of graphics and performance compared to PS5.

Kinda scared and saddened looking up the game on PS store and seeing how they officially warn against buying the game for PS4, but I really wanna play it though

Probably a lil longer than that. Announcement, trailer/videos, lil bit of hype period if there's new content/fixes, probs some interviews... Probs late next month or March, if I had to guess.

Do reckon there's a good chance they treat this as a re-release as the debunked leak suggested.

What's the point of more traffic and pedestrians if the AI is still garbage? Then you have to fight through the traffic all the time, and the AI traffic still stops behind your car if you park your car on the street. Creating an endless traffic jam like this, because they are not able to drive around any obstacle. I rather trust CDPR directly if it comes to modifying the game. Maybe the game is fine after 1.5, or hell after 2.0 or 2.5, or even 3.0 maybe it's actual fun someday, but that still takes a lot of time. If CDPR don't abandon the game, maybe it's a good game in 3-4 years, with multiplayer, better car physics and handling and customization, more jobs/activities/quests/heists etc., more clothing options, a much much better AI for traffic and pedestians, a real police system similar to GTA V, not just spawning cops out of nowhere without any real car chases etc. maybe someday they even use vertical gameplay more, there are so many skyscrapers but most of what happens, happens on ground level. The game needs a complete overhaul. Of course it would also need real player housing, owning properties like in GTA with garages. Maybe also some businesses, like owning strip clubs, restaurants, or shops as a cover for illegal drug, implants, weapons, car trafficing etc. I mean the city is there, it looks beautyful all they have to do is add actual content and "life" to it.

Some mods are nice sure, but they don't really help with the problem that the game still feels empty. Even if you would see 1000 pedestrians at once, that doesn't help if they don't act like normal human beings like they do in GTA IV and V. CDPR has to add more voice lines to them, make them do phonecalls, do this and that, they shouldn't just be a facade of a human, some prop that is just there with no human reactions whatsoever, other than ducking and screaming if somebody shoots around.

I mean f*ck even in GTA III the pedestrians and the traffic felt more natural and that game is more than 20 years old.

Sounds more believable than the prior leak but still reads a bit wishlisty.

Hoping regardless if it's legit or not we see a bunch of the stuff on that list though.
