And the patch is now live if someone's interested. It's quite big in terms of size and it weights respectively for:

- Xbox One - 37GB

- PC - 36,3GB

- PlayStation 4 - 40,59GB

It's worth mentioning that along with the fixes we got few free DLC items as well:

- two new iconic jackets

- Archer Quartz Bandit car

- Alternate appearance for Johnny

If you want to see them for yourself without being spoiled don't look below.

I'm really glad a lot of dedication is still put into the game despite everything that seems to be going on internally at CDPR and externally with all the feedback, this is definitely a passion project at least for the devs. The game for sure plays much better than it did at release, and if I enjoyed it thoroughly while it was less stable, I'm sure I'm going to enjoy it even more now on my second playthrough with a Nomad V. Wondering how it's performing now on consoles. Also, rotating V in the inventory finally, ahhh!

Haven't been playing much lately at all, but did drop in-game to see how it was running, and also forget half the controls and forget my V was so low level (right at the beginning of the new playthrough I started  a few months ago) that it wasn't a good idea to get involved in fights yet...

Some pics below because I can't ever stop using photo modes in games

Hmm i didn't notice any performance increase or decrease with the newest patch, using R9 5950x, RTX 3080 etc. But for some reason i can't start it via steam anymore, i get a weird bug with the redlauncher then, if i start it directly out of the folder it works.

Maybe i do another playthrough in a year or so, if there are actual DLC's, clothing and a car doesn't really count as a DLC, well not in my eyes.

They're starting out just like The Witcher 3, some extra goodies and appearance changes (Yen, Triss, etc. had them too at first) as free DLC, and then they're gonna focus on the actual big additions which will probably be paid. IIRC they said as much on their stream yesterday.

Can't say exactly how the game works on basic Xbox One, since my unit started to behave somewhat strange. I suspect some hard drive issues since the console was losing save files and throwing errors in my face during attempt to download them. On Xbox One X however it works bearable. Nothing to write home about, but it runs in 30 fps with occasional hitch or hiccup in stressing areas (like heavy shootout or driving through the city at high speed). Sometimes the texture may load a bit too late, but I did my second playthrough on it and it was fine. Stability severely went up, as I believe the game froze only once during quite long session.

From what the net is buzzing about PS4 has severely lowered number of peds and cars to keep the performance on pleasant levels.

Patch 1.3 increases the performance even better from what I heard, but I haven't tested it yet.

Few screens, since the game can be so eye-candy. These are still from basic Xbox One by the way.

Check out this Kickstarter project. It looks to do the things CP77 missed out on such as a 3rd person view and controllable flying cars and some parkour.. Of course this is all just test footage but it looks nice. Also, I'm sceptical of anything that's crowd funded when it comes to videogames. You see how CDPR struggled, I can't see a small indie dev team pulling something this ambitious off. But never say never.

Sometimes I just wish they would announce a new Deus Ex or something. My cyber punk cravings haven't really been satiated properly.

i just got a series x and i continue my story in night city, with my one x i was about 100hours in, and with the series x it runs and looks better than ever (well, even on the one x i had no real problems with the game)

i am probably one of the 1% gamers who actually enjoy cyberpunk lol, its probably somewhere in my "top 5" games in 2010-2020

I stopped playing it in Jan or Feb, basically not long after it came out. Not that I wasn't enjoying it. I just put it down one day and was kind of never in the right mood to pick it up. But congrats on getting a Series X. I've been playing on a Series X and I didn't have much issues with bugs or anything. Mainly just fundamental things left out like lack of pedestrians, relatively lifeless world,  and lack open-world things to do. I'm not complaining too much as I loved the 50hrs or so I put in. Usually I lose interest in a game at 50hrs then I need a big break and then I come back and fall in love with it again.

I'm kind of hoping the 'fall in love again' is when we get a new gen upgrade. Seeing as the upgrade probably wont come out until the very end of the year or even early 2022, I might just continue on. Start a new playthrough for the upgrade. Actually, think I will do that.

DF did a test for the most recent patch. PS5 keeps an almost locked 60fps. Runs very smooth. However on Series X frames dip as low as the low 40's but most maintains over 50fps. The trade-off seems to be that there are more peds on screen on Series X version at any given time and a minute graphical advantage but mostly negligible.  Personally, I prefer more peds and life over the frame dips. I mostly wont notice dips of 5-13 frames. But I'm biased to Series X. I imagine if I owned a PS5, I'd probably convince myself I'd prefer the frames, cause I'm human like that. 😛

i use the "quality mode" on series x and imo the amount of peds/cars is perfect, it feels like a busy city in certain areas at certain daytimes etc

i can also compare it to the one x version, there the world felt more empty, but on series x some areas are even "too" crowded, depends on what your standard/preferation is

Too busy? OK, wow. ..I can't use quality mode or 30fps any more. Going from mostly 60fps to 30fs is really choppy. But I get you.. I didn't bother me before. I thought 60fps was a bonus and now that its most of my time playing, 30fps is hard to adjust to.  Each to their own, of course :)

All this talk of CP2077 makes me want to install it now. In fact, I think I will!

That makes at least two of us. No game from recent times had me so much invested emotionally as Cyberpunk 2077. Previous game that worked in similar way was I believe was Fallout: New Vegas and GTA IV before that. CD Project has shown with CP77 that maybe technically they're not exactly on the top, but they know about writing like no other. I love characters, storyline, quests, soundtrack and pretty much every non-technical aspect.

Maybe CP77 wasn't the messiah we're waitning for, but it was bloody good game I've completed twice already and still can't put it down. And if we're talking about bugs, sure they are there, but I don't care about them as much as other players. I guess it my be caused by the fact that I was raised in a simpler times, back in the 90s, when there was no internet and people didn't have any place to cry about problems ;) One who had fun was the winner, not the one with the most issues found.

So I've finally taken the plunge and ordered myself a copy of the game since it's pretty cheap now. I guess it's curiosity more than anything as I have to admit some parts of it interest me and I've never played it at all.

I'll be playing it on PS5 so that should help (fingers crossed). I was going to wait for the proper PS5 version, but I'm curious to see what it's like now as opposed to when the free upgrade comes.

All this Cyberpunk 2077 talk made me fire it up with a fresh playthrough...Street kid.

I'm on a series x and I swear the graphics look like they have been muted a bunch compared to the launch version.

Still an enjoyable go.

I'm a PC player but I recall reading on the Xbox there's the choice between Performance and Quality modes. Make sure you choose the latter for better visuals (at 30 fps only though).

Oh yeah...I'm on quality mode.

I remember shortly after release they were toning down the graphics since it was killing last gen consoles.  It just looks as if they kept at and now the game looks to be lacking some of the graphics polish that made it so beautiful.  Still looks amazing...just missing some nice reflections and deeper textures from the release version (I remember).

I'm considering to buy this game. I want to know how big Night City is when compared to Los Santos? I tried googling but get opposite answers. Some say it's twice the size of LS whereas some say it's the same size.

Subjectively, it doesn't feel smaller, which might be due to the following: (1) you can't go through it just as fast, (2) there's more to explore on foot, in particular (3) more verticality. In absolute terms I'd like to know the answer myself. There's also a lot to explore in the outer areas (think "Blaine County") but in this category I think GTA V is the winner. Towards the end of the game you'll notice there are some areas you don't get to visit even though they're marked on the map (there's a rumor they'll be opened up in the upcoming DLCs). In the end, the biggest noticeable difference is that, unlike GTA V, there isn't much to do underwater.

So Night City is smaller but feels bigger? Sorry If I didn't understand English isn't my first language

I took these for You, so You may see and compare the map size for Yourself

17CW8j1.png

4xWbNYs.jpg

Distance between green arrow and white marker is 2.7km (I tried to took as straight piece of road I could). Distance between green arrow and yellow marker is 6.9km.

IH4z9yW.png

Here distance between green arrow and white marker is 2.4km and between arrow and yellow marker 4.9km.

You may also see the whole map for Yourself. The blue lines are roads, but You may also cross the desert between them. Whole map, accordingly to my rough measurement may be around 8x8, but obviously there are places that cannot be traversed like mountain ranges and water. I am not sure how this compares to GTA V, as I don't have it installed at the moment.

And if we're talking about map itself it's a bit different kind than GTA V, as there are more details and the map feels bigger than it may actually be. You may find different back alleys, sidewalks, spaces between buildings and You may want to check them (sometimes there is a reward, like rare piece of equipment or some cool weapon). When You get specific cyberware You may even parkour and jump on ledges and roofs, adding a bit of verticality to the map, which is not present in GTA. Also there are various places and buildings You may venture into, like clubs, bars, police station, psychiatric clinic, warehouses, things like that. Some of them are only available in missions (like hotel from Act 1) and some are available at anytime.

And the best way is to not compare Cyberpunk to GTA V, as these are not the same genre as someone may think. Sure, CP got open world, ability to steal cars, and side missions available to You at anytime, but despite this it's story driven action rpg. You may want to compare it to Fallout 3, 4, New Vegas or Deus Ex for example (but the latter didn't feature open world map). If you want to create chaos and fight with the cops, it's not exactly title for You, but if You want to experience great, emotional storyline (which can make Your eyes wet) set in a interesting science-fiction open world, go for it.

@Tycek already gave you a great answer but just to explain what I meant:

  • NC vs LS feel similar in size
  • In NC is you can go up and down more
  • I don't know how the numbers compare

imo night city is/feels way bigger than LS just because night city has so many interiors you can go in and explore while gta5/los santos has no interiors at all in free roam (besides 24/7 stuff etc, but you get what i mean)

So I finally got around to playing the game.

One reason I bought it on disc is I knew it came with a map, compendium and things like that. It might be a small thing, but I appreciate little things like that.

Most physical games barely come with a 1 page manual now so it’s nice to see something that R* always used to do in the past. Just adds a personal touch IMO and shows the devs had their heart in the right place.

Onto the gsne itself. I only played 30 minutes or so after choosing the Corpo life path and creating a female V.

I’m not entirely sure what’s been changed with the patches, but first impressions it looks a lot better than I thought it would (Playing on PS5 btw). Nothing absolutely stunning, but better than how I pictured it to be. I guess YouTube videos don’t do it justice.

Of course I’m so early into the game I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself, but I think coming into it with an open mind without expecting a reinvention of the wheel will hopefully serve me well. I totally expect I’ll probably encounter bugs, glitches etc so I’m not expecting perfection.

It reminds me of when I got WWE 2K20. An absolute disaster of a launch, but I waited for a few months and when I got it, it wasn’t that bad.

Anyway looking forward to spending some tine in Night City. Peace out.🤙

F*ck clickbait like that. Like Jesus Christ, f*ck them. Unless it's coming from CD Projekt's twitter, it's not confirmed and should be ignored. Same thing applies to GTA VI sh*t too, f*cking kids being too stupid to know the different and assholes make money off of them.

So now I'm about 5 hours in and just completed The Heist.

Honestly the only bugs and glitches I've encountered so far have been very minor. There was one time where Jackie started floating in the air and he sunk into ground for as second or so (which admittedly made me laugh), but haven't enountered anything game breaking/progression breaking.

Besides that I absolutely love the story and characters so far. I was actually left a bit in shock at the conclusion of The Heist. Very few games have left me speechless like that unless they're GTA IV, Mafia II, RDR2 etc. I'm really interested to see where it goes from here. I also think Night City is striking aesthetically and feels so imposing with the towering skyline.
