cidamelo
I have to install it, but I hate installing drivers because they always give me problem!! So I want to know if it gave problem to anyone..... My video card is ATI Radeon HD 5770
Narcis_speed6
Why don't you just install the beta 12.11 or the stable 12.10?
NaidRaida
I would also recommend recent drivers, but not sure if this is a good idea for an HD 5770 which is a pretty old card. There's no way out - you'll have ot try it out! Apart from that I have the feeling that every ATI driver installation makes trouble, no matter which driver it is in fact - but that might be only my experience or my system is untidy or whatever. Why did I move back to ATI... Why.... buhuhuhhhuuu Edited January 10, 2013 by NaidRaida
cidamelo
Well in ATI website the most recent driver which appears is the 12.8!! NaidRaida I always have trouble too!! But I have to install it because of The Sims
Narcis_speed6
Insert all your details here and it will give you the best driver suited for your video card. And here you can find all the AMD hotfixes (such as beta drivers)

NaidRaida
If you need this special driver for a reason you have no choice. You have no choice at all, someday you'll need to put an new driver for another reason. I recommend you to read some tutorials carefully about graphics card driver installation/deinstallation. If you don't follow some rules you'll run into trouble regardless which driver you take. I have doubts that this game needs a dedicated driver. Is that true? cidamelo
I installed it and guess what happens: when I started The Sims, appeared a message 'your computer doesn't have a video card' !!! I restored my computer now, I guess drivers aren't for me!!! NaidRaida I had to install this driver because of this problem my pets don't have fluff in the game
corvettelover
Just run 12.11 beta. I've been running it since it came out and its been pretty much fine, and occasional crash (crashed when playing Dangerous Hunts 2013 once) but other than that it has been great. My card is a XFX 5670 GDDR5 which is a step below yours (unless yours is GDDR3) Or if you are uncomfortable running a beta just run the 12.10. Did you restart after installing the drivers? I don't see why it would do that for a game. OFT: Any idea when the 13.1 or whatever will be out? Edited January 11, 2013 by corvettelover
NaidRaida
appeared a message 'your computer doesn't have a video card' Well, that is indeed a sign for a non working driver. Hahaha But obviously a very rare error. Your computer doesn't have a video card? Tell him the truth! He has! Okay, if some driver is not working at all, get another one and try if your pets have correct fur. Maybe this bug has been solved with a newer driver. Or could it be just a misconfiguration of your driver settings? Generally, I would recommend you to change your video card. You can easily find cheap cards (<100$) with much much more power and quality than yours. And for a better and easy use I always recommend NVidia. I think they have a much better working driver install routine.
cidamelo
corvettelover yes, I've restarted I don't know why but drivers always give me problems!! Since my first PC in 2000! NaidRaida yeeeees what a stupid error!! I don't know if I can download 12.11 beta, does it work in Ati Radeon HD 5770?? And I can't afford a new video card now, unfortunately it is expensive in Brazil But my graphics in the game are fine, I run everything in max without problems, this flufly thing actually is a bug which happens which a lot of video cards, even the good ones! NaidRaida
12.11 should work with 5770, but all other drivers should as well. That is not normal what is going on with your computer.
Stinky12
The latest release driver from AMD is Catalyst 12.10. Download that and try to see if your games properly or not. When downloading, also make sure you select the correct operating system. If drivers cannot be updated, then uninstall the old drivers first, restart, then install the new one. Other methods of installing are, download the drivers from your graphic card's website. e.g. if your card is a Asus brand then go to Asus.com to download the drivers from there. And use Windows Update. Windows Update may sometimes provide updated drivers as well. Here are Catalyst drivers for HD5770 from AMD.com Note that for Windows XP, the latest supported Catalyst driver for HD5000 series graphic card is version 12.8 If you're running Windows XP, then any later Catalyst drivers after 12.8 will not install. Catalyst 12.10 for Vista/7/8 32bit Catalyst 12.10 for Vista/7/8 64bit Catalyst 12.8 for XP 32bit Catalyst 12.8 for XP Media Center 32bit For the game, see if there are any updates, maybe applying a game update may fix the problem too. NaidRaida
This bug is cute somehow. It looks as if the dog on the right needs a brush. Can it be that this is not a bug but part of the game? I don't know, I don't play this.
na89340qv0n34b09q340
If that's The Sims 3 then here's someone who had the same problem as you, looks like someone in that thread managed to help them fix it by screwing around with the graphics settings in the game. Good luck.
cidamelo
NaidRaida this dog looks kind cute but my dog in the game is awful It's really a bug zoo3891 I've done this, I've read almost all The Sims topics about that It was fixed in a patch, but I think it doesn't work for me because my video card doesn't have a new driver
anus
Try this: Uninstall your driver from Add/Remove Programs Download and install Driver Fusion Now run Driver Fusion and select 'AMD Display' and click 'Analyze' at the bottom. Then select all of the results and click 'Delete' Now install the latest driver available See if that fixes it. To be honest, I'd upgrade to Windows 7 at the very least. Your card isn't bad, but support for XP is falling. It could be that a driver available for Vista/7/8 fixes the bug you're having.
cidamelo
Warlord. actually I don't have any drivers in add/remove programs, because always I've installed a driver I didn't like it and used the restoration point I used that driver fusion and a lot of results appeared, are you sure if I delete them, it won't give me problems?? I have the Windows 7 but I don't like it unfortunately
Stinky12
The last supported driver for Windows XP is Catalyst 12.8. Driver higher than Catalyst 12.8 requires Vista, Win7 or Win8. Now XP cannot be upgrade directly to Win7. It need to be upgrade to Vista first, then to Win7. A format and reinstall will be the better option, just make sure to backup all of your important files and save games. Why don't you like Windows 7? cidamelo
I don't like its style, like the quick launch bar... It just annoys me! And it is slower too... I had Windows 7 in this computer and I hated it!! And to get worst, my Windows version is the Starter, we can't even change the desktop I have 3 computers and 2 notebooks at home, and 1 computer and the notebooks have Windows 7, and I don't like it, Windows XP is way better in my opinion
Stinky12
Does all of your computer running Windows 7 uses Starter or different editions? Windows 7 Starter cannot be bought alone at retail store or online. It comes preloaded by the computer manufacture. These are mostly used for very weak computers like netbooks and nettops. If you're using Starter this whole time, no wonder there is hate for Windows 7 as Stater isn't even a proper Win7, and the hardware on these computers are too weak to being with. Try running a proper Win7 like Home Premium on the best computer you have so you can get the true experience of Win7. cidamelo
All of them are running that awful Starter! But what about the quick bar? Can we change it to the "classic" style?
Stinky12
What do you mean by Quick bar? If it's Quick Lanuch, just right click on task bar and uncheck Quick Launch. Win7 Start Menu is exactly the same as the default Start menu on XP, there is no difference. The only difference is All Programs, when navigating to a program, XP expands it towards the right. Win7 keeps it into a single column, making it organized. Windows 7 does not have its start menu in Classic style like XP, where it can be changed to look like Win95, 98, or ME. It does however have a Classic theme, it disables the visual style, but the style of the Start menu remains the same. Classic Style Start menu (Used in Win95, 98, and ME) Default XP Start Menu (Luna in Blue) XP with Classic Style Start menu Windows 7 Start menu Windows 7 Start menu in Classic theme Download and run this software, if you want Win7 to have the Classic style start menu. It also has the option to make the start menu look like XP. alternative option Edited January 19, 2013 by Stinky12
cidamelo
Stinky12 the thing I don't like is this "The only difference is All Programs, when navigating to a program, XP expands it towards the right. Stinky12
There are 2 links at that can change Win7 to look like XP, it's in my previous post. I'm using Win8 and there is no Start menu, it has a Start screen. Programs on it are called Tiles. So programs I used the most are pinned to the Start screen as well as live Tiles, it gives updates or info on weather, news, mail, and more. In Win8 they rename All Programs to All Apps, here it shows all the shortcuts to every program that's installed. Win8 All Apps (All Programs)
