I'm worried about multiplayer!

Guys, I think you could be pretty sure R* will make lots of multiplayer events for GTA V in the first weeks / months after it's release. The problem is that many people (me included) don't want to play multiplayer until after they've beaten the story for the first time, because otherwise the map, weapons, vehicles and so on would be instantly spoiled...

So R* is forcing us into a dilemma, a) play multiplayer in order to participate the events, and have half of the game spoiled for your first gameplay - wow factor ruined, or b) not play multiplayer and have the game 100% fresh in your first playthtough, missing the awesome fun of the best events that there will ever be - the first ones.

I know not everyone here cares about having the game spoiled by multiplayer, and some of you might think "yeah, you might as well not play the f*cking game not to have it spoiled", but this is only a thought. Actually I don't think it hurts too much to receive the first wow factor in multiplayer rather than in single player, but for me the magic of GTA has always been the storyline.

Thoughts? smile.gif

Ive thought about this same thing, It will be tough to not play multiplayer right away, but I just wont do it until the game is beat

priorities ... do what you see as more important and that would be the best choice for you.

I feel the same way. I usually don't touch multiplayer unless I'm eitherin the last quarter of the storyline or finished.

But another thing worries me about V's multiplayer. whatsthat.gif

Modding. "ooohhz iv got an indistuktivle heli, and a fier mod. Letz me troll and mak sur no one but mii haz fun"

Yeah...

Yeah, I'm not going to get bogged down by that decision. Single-player is a priority here. Multiplayer is for longevity.

Mutiplayer.. well, OP, For me, Multiplayer will not exist for the first month or so of having GTA V.

So really, it is not a dilemma for me, I don't really care for mutiplayer in a game like GTA, yeah sure, Its fun.. eventually, When I've done all there is to in single player.. Mutiplayer is a decent way to relieve some boredom.

I must say.. It does annoy me, the number of people prioritizing mutiplayer rather than single player. It seems to be a trend these days.. plus EA forcing Multiplayer into every game...

I can already see those stupid kids who'll choose Multiplayer mode first instead of Single Player. Idiots.

Yeah one of mates will be like that. It's depressing. He 'loves' GTA, will play online for hours. He wouldn't have a breeze about Niko, where he's from and why he's there. The horrible thing is, he doesn't even appear to be curious.

Yeah, i find it sad, f*ck the multiplayer, i will never even try it, don't care about missing those events, singleplayer will be enough for me.

I am worried about multiplayer for a totally different reason, the idiots who drive the wrong way in multiplayer races.

They should make it so in Ranked races you have 20 seconds to hit the next checkpoint, otherwise you get DQ'd and removed from the race.

Also RockStar should do more to ban cheats and hackers

So my worry is that RockStar have done nothing to fix these issues

I take my time with singleplayer campaigns before I look at the multiplayer aspect of a game. Considering it's GTA we talk about I won't be online for a full month, at least. I don't rush from mission to mission and I rarely run or sprint. Usually I just walk from A to B or drive really slow to get to my destination. That's how I roll.

There will be lots of events in the future and they'll be great aswell. I guess the first events do have a magic feel to it since everyone's new, but on the other hand to anyone individually participating at some point, the first online gameplay will be magical just as much - be it the 1st or the 42nd event hosted by R*.

Yeah... except. By the 42nd Event, Everyone else will rip you a new arsehole, it may affect that "magical" feeling.

Bit of a childish comment that, quite ironic really.

I didnt play multiplayer for the first 4 years I owned IV. I never felt like I was missing out on anything. RDR was fun online though. Im in no rush to play online with some random dudes I dont even know. GTA is definitely a solo experience for me

That's not gonna happen. The difficulty level might have become a little more steep by that time, but I appreciate a challenge and I can take the heat! It won't be me walking around with a diper the next day ;D

If some people want to discover the map that way let them. Personally I dont care about the events they put on, Im pretty R* just use them for research and testing purposes

u all sound crazy 2 me!! (except the guy who wants to be called a homo by a kid lol) If there was no multiplayer i would never even touch gta. It is soooo boring shooting bots and running stupid errands in single player. I may play this single player just cuz of the innovative way it will b set up but that will b about 1% of the total time I will play the game. HOW CAN U POSSIBLY RESIST GOIN INTO THOSE MULTIPLAYER ROOMS AND MURDERING PEOPLE??!! If im not havin fun with the gang and pissin people off I just dont see the point. Sum of yall r lyin. U no u want 2 just in a jet or dive underwater lol sneaky2.gif

I'll get my face shooting chops up to scratch with a while on multiplayer, iron out some of them kinks n then steam roll thru single player

I dont see why some of you are personally offended and genuinely upset with people that prefer multiplayer over single player. LOL!!

Its a personal preference. I for one, like both modes equally and switch back and forth based on my mood. When I get the game, first thing I'm doing is checking what the multiplayer game selection is and trying each one out!! And of course I'll proabably FREE ROAM so I can check out the map before I even play a mission(unless it makes you play mission 1)

EDIT: you all need to relax a bit!

Well. When games like mass effect make their endings so full of holes because they didn't have enough time... Yet they include multiplayer.

Multiplayer seems to have an colletral effect on single player campaign lengths. Thus, robbing us of full length story mode.

I don't see the problem here, at least with GTA V. I say this because R* has had plenty of time to complete the game. I highly doubt they are rushing this one so I think you hardcore "story" guys will get all that you desire.
