bobdude100
Can't wait! Go Leafs go. They just fired GM Brian Burke, now hoping they land goalie Luongo. He prob goes to a cup contender or Florida. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/541008-nhl-lockout-is-over-whos-pumped/#findComment-1062121016 Share on other sites

bobdude100
Toronto is the only team that really needs him while still being able to afford him. luongo01
Yeah, but the media is making it sound like he must be traded before the season. Thats not going to happen.Luongo may only be moved near the trade deadline when Schneider has proven himself and how the playoff outlook seems. During the next offseason team will be able to buy out 2 players and create some cap space. That might bring up other teams like maybe philly if they get rid of bryzgalov or chicago if tbey think a goalie is holding them back from another cup run. Id rather keep our "garbage" than take the leafs garbage. No offense to leafs fans. bobdude100
What Vancouver has been asking for Luongo is way to steep. So I don't think Jake Gardiner, Morgan Rielly, or our first round pick is garbage. Luongo ain't worth that maybe Matt Frattin, Cody Franson and a third round pick. No one will ever get Jake Gardiner he is going to be the face of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the next few years just you watch. darthYENIK
Hockey still exists? lols Football's for doody heads. Anyway, there's a NHL topic. But on the topic of the Leafs firing Burke. If he can't turn that team into a winner, it's gonna be hard to find someone who will. luongo01
I didn't mean that Gardiner Colborne or Rielly were garbage but I doubt toronto would part with them. What is garbage is almost everything else on the leafs that could be a part of a luongo deal. Franson wont even crack the canucks top 6 defencemen. Canucks need pieces now for a cup run before the core gets too old. Kadri isn't much either. Nhl and ahl coaches have said he has no passion and bad conditioning. No sign of potential seen in him thus far. Luongo for a short season is better than anything the leafs would be willing to give up. I doubt Luo will even waive his NTC for toronto. He would rather go to a cup contender or florida. If toronto is the only team interested Luo will force gillis's hand and make him trade luo to florida for whatever florida was offering. bobdude100
Franson can easily crack the Canucks 6 defense. He is a big guy, a up and comer. He will most likely only be a 2nd pair defense player his career but he will be a solid one wherever he ends up. I am positive Luongo will be leaving Vancouver this season, to leave him their would be cruel and unusual punishment the fans would destroy him. I think Kulemin, Conolly, Franson, and third or maybe second round pick would be a fair deal for Luongo and also maybe Raymond. There was only like 5 minutes of hockey talk during the hour aired show on average. ESPN is butthurt that the NHL left them for NBC. Case in point, the segment they showed the morning that the new CBA was agreed upon, with "the Sports Reporters" sh*tting all over the NHL, close to what you're doing, but less playful, and more talking out of their ass. They actually suggested that soccer and college basketball is more popular. They should just move all the teams to Canada where people give a hoot about it.
