I think I need to re-install GTA SA because I did a system restore a few days ago to a point in time before I last played the game (I think), yet after I installed it. The shortcut to the game AND all the files for the game in the ProgramFiles(x86) folder are still there (it appears), but when I try to start the game, I'll get the loading disc for a second or two and then it just stops doing anything. Other games I have that I installed prior to my restore point are still there and work, but this one won't even start, which I would think it would since I installed it before the restore point. It could be something else entirely since I just got online for the first time in 6 years and I've done a lot of updates since (about 300 Microsoft updates, etc.). I was thinking that if my game save files are still there, I might uninstall, reinstall the game and see if it works, but I sure don't want to lose all that time I spent getting to where I was. Girish Posted January 10, 2013 Share Posted January 10, 2013 Your savefiles will be located in the GTA San Andreas User Files folder that is located in My Documents. The folder will also contain a gta_sa.set file. It would be worth a try to delete this file and check if the game works then. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
lil weasel Posted January 10, 2013 Share Posted January 10, 2013 To be more clear delete only the gta_sa.set file, which contains config data from the last game play. Been stuck there for three years and have just been replaying the game up to that point, since I wasn't online and couldn't come here for help. I'll search for mission help here because I'm 100% sure (well, 99.9% sure) that I'm not the only one that ever got stuck there. Thanks again! Watch the blip on the radar, when it is pointing down you are above. square you are on the same altitude, pointing up you are below.
