STOGE
One of the "improvements" that was made from SA to IV was the instant cinematic button on the control pad (circle on ps3/sorry dnt knw wot xbox was)I loved using this feature and gave you some amazing viewpoints when you were driving around. It got even better with time once you knew the roads off by heart. I HOPE ROCKSTAR KEEP THIS????(wot do you guys think?) the only improvement on this(for me) would be to correct the traffic spawn on a continuation from the last viewpoint. It was a real pain in the ass when you had a clear road in front of youand then when the scene changed you had a freekin traffic jam in front of you to crash into. That was the only negative of that camera perspective and do hope they improve it??? GrandMaster Smith
I thought it was such a waste of space. Not only did they have two buttons on the controller assigned for the E-brake, but they uselessly took up the B or O button for the cinematic camera which could've been accessed just as easily by pushing the back button two or three times. Though I did like the lock on feature with B during chases.
Miss Darko
^ Jeeze, it was fine, it wasn't being used for anything else. Plus, I had it in slow motion by default so I could go to slow motion cinematic moments instantly when I got into a crash or something. However, it could be put with a more obscure button so that another feature can make use of the circle button.
Secura
If they implement any kind of parkour/free running system then I think it's a necessity for it to be added to normal play, other then that though I don't really see how they can improve upon it in its current state. Perhaps they'll even bring the video editor to consoles this time around, that'd be a very interesting toy to play with.
Cutter De Blanc
I almost never used it. Hopefully the button will be assigned to do the optional features like dropping the convertible top on cars instead, or something more useful.

I didn't mean the cinematic camera was a waste of space, I enjoyed using it along with slo mo but I think the button layout was a waste of space. And of course they weren't being used for anything else, because they used them for what they did lol. I would've much preferred having the bumper serve as a clutch than a second E-brake, or something like hold down B and tap a direction on the d-pad to activate blinkers, but no they used it for the same thing you could get to by pushing the back button. As far as the feature goes, I would love to see it return with once exception, ALLOW ME TO LOCK IT! I always wanted to it to stay in the position where the camera's fixed on a door or on the trunk and drive around like that, I didn't like having to flick back every 4 seconds.. Miss Darko
Well, I'm sure if there were plans to have another feature use that, they wouldn't have just gone, "Nah, we have to put the cinematic camera on that button." They used it because they didn't have any other plans for that button, I'm quite certain.

Has the whole convertible car thing been confirmed by rockstar. Please someone reply. OT: I almost never used the cinematic camera button either but I don't have a problem with it, but like you said I hope they put it in another button to free up space for the middle finger thing or gesture wheel if there are more ways to interact with peds. Or some other new feature.
RedDagger
I really like that button, I don't know why but going into slow-mo when t-boning a biker is just so much better than in normal view Although I do agree it could have been put to more use, and the cinematic put to, say, clicking the right thumb stick (if that doesn't do anything, which I don't think it does). 73duster
Why are people always so concerned about wasting buttons? Rockstar knows what they are doing. It's not like they are eliminating some great feature because they don't have enough buttons.

It gives you a behind-the-car view, which is actually pretty important.

It's not like they are eliminating some great feature because they don't have enough buttons. Idk about you but I could've thought of multiple different things for those button that were used twice. Like said before; blinkers, a clutch system, being used to aim without having to shoot the entire time (another pain in the ass imo), a seatbelt feature to prevent flying out the window, even something as simple as rolling down the window instead of having to bust it out every time. There are soo many different things they could've done with them.
YoungChrist
Was kind of useless because many times you couldn't even see where you were driving. I say keep it, but whether they improve it or not, I don't really care because I cant see sh*t while using it.
Showstopper 26
I used it a lot in San Andreas, but hardly ever in IV. With the countryside and desert returning I plan on using it again.

Backfire6
people actually used this? I never once used it. I only used it to do auto pilot in a plane. That was the only time it was useful for me.

Raynos
It was a best button that GTA IV had. I always used that button, you see. I mostly drive using the bonnet view, thus, when doing power slides around corners and parking in tight spaces. It just gave police chases so much more excitement. I sure do hope that GTA V keeps this.
