Dick Valor
you kunts. This. I'd bore my girlfriend to tears if I shared the true extent of my V obsession. I will say, though, that contrary to other peoples' experiences here, I have been pleasantly surprised to hear GTA V brought up in conversation by friends I don't even consider gamers. News of V is definitely bringing a lot of former gamers out of the woodwork; it's on more people's radars than y'all would think!
Deffpony
All of you. No one else I know gives a sh*t hahaha. Isn't that sad? Dude... Im right there with you. Theres only two people who come close to caring... My little brother who only plays COD. And my best friend who I grew up playing games with. He is a huge oldschool gamer and he has been saddened by how little I play video games anymore do to work and what not. But he sees how excited I am about it and it gets him excited. He always calls me when something big news wise comes out. But its not the same as having someone like a fellow forum member who is f*cking stoked for the game. bobdude100
I'm the only one who really does the whole foruming thing out of it in my family. My brother only gets peak of interest every time their is new screenshots or a trailer. I update a few of my friends at parties here and there about it. But lately we all are still talking more about AC3 even tho its been out for a while now Edited January 10, 2013 by bobdude100

blakeney
Back in SA and before, ALL my mates and brother etc were all as into gta as me.... like all on the same wave lenght with it, loving the whole immersion factor not just running round on gta.... Then IV happened and iam litulary the only one that stayed a hardcore GTA lover!!! My brother inlaw is the only one that even seems effected by the screens of V i exitedly show him.... i try with the rest, but they are not intrested! They look at me as if to say "Yeah i got exited about IV and look how much i hated that", while proceeding to tell me about w/e new game they playing!! I know by the time it actually comes out my brother will atleast pick it up, so im hoping i can atleast get some co-op heist action (IF there is such a thing) with atleast 2 of them! *You guys are my only Carfreinds [ < inbetweeners ] *
blakeney
We should all learn something from this, since most of the world does not appreciate these games it proves that most people are phukking retards. I come to this conclusion long before a lack of universial intrest for GTAV come about! Ive found you HAVE TO presume that the next man(or indeed woman) is a complete retard... only 1in100 times you will be wrong (you're proberly looking in the mirror that one time )
vivalavendredi
With my girlfriend. Well, actually she doesn't care and she doesn't understand it. But at least she recognizes that it makes me happy - and she said she will leave me alone on release day and the weekend after release so I can play without being bothered
zeppelincheetah
a couple of friends and my brother though nobody I know is anywhere near as interested in GTA as I am. A lot of people lost interest after San Andreas, which is seems to be the favorite GTA of 3/4 of all GTA fans. It's not mine, I've got to give a slight slight edge to GTA III. VitoJoe
Because almost everyone is more excited about the next CoD than a GTA. I know, it sucks but whatever. I don't think so, pretty much everyone on the IGN board, GameFAQs and NeoGaf are way more excited about GTA V than the next CoD. Those are one of the biggest forums on the internet btw, all 3 have more than 700,000 members. OT: My brother, he is a big GTA fan, even more so than me. Celebrate with all the other GTAV fans in line. Pick up your pre-ordered special edition GTAV. Coming out of the game store, get interviewed on local TV news as a hardcore GTA fan and proclaim your GTA devotion to the world. Get home about 4 AM in the morning totally hyped to start playing. Girlfriend is asleep since midnight. Open the special edition GTAV box, pop the disk into your console, and the GTAV opening theme music starts. You are ecstatic. Then your phone rings. "Cousin, let's go bowling!" I obsess over GTAV with the GTAV forum -- that's why I am here. These are are the true believers, who really deeply understand what this is all about, including the context of past GTA games, RDR, LA Noire and even Max Payne 3. This is a true community. I used to have best friends who were into the same things as me and we would obsess and anticipate over them, so I know the feeling. But over the years we all went our separate ways. Ironically, a month ago I was out at lunch with several people on my work project. We happened to go to a lunch place right next to a GameStop; didn't expect that. I rushed in to place a $5 GTAV pre-order so I could get a poster and viewer. That afternoon, talking with the guys, who remarked on my quick detour, I found two guys on the project who are into FPS and TPS games over the years, like I have been. So it worked out that I do have some people whom I see often, to talk about this with, but nothing like real GTA obsession. Because GTA V seems to bringing the best of both worlds back, I do sort of hope that, if GTA V does what I think it will do, word of mouth will spread and GTA will regain its popularity among the general gaming public, including people I know in real life. I agree, when GTAV is close to release, and when it comes out, the general gaming community will probably get caught up in the ultra hype. It will be a beautiful time. But to rope in a new generation, a wider demographic, and to really put the stamp of coolness on GTAV, will probably require some high profile establishment stances, like some US senators or hypocritical TV preachers, to hold press conferences to publicly wring their hands over the ruination of our youth, killing virtual prostitutes, and young impressionable minds being converted into violent gun-wielding psychopaths due to GTAV. That will greatly increase the GTAV hype and the sales. That's exactly how I first heard about GTA III. It's been a wonderful long ride since then, and I haven't been caught yet.
