Deminu
Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum, but have been playing GTA - San Andreas for a very long time. The reason I finally made an account here is because of a strange lag issue. My computer has AMD Sempron 2.10 GHz proccessor, 1024 MB DDR2 RAM, nVidia GeForce 6100 nForce 405. This exceeds the system requirements for the game, but I am still only able to get around 13 FPS. I have Windows 7 32 bit, and I have tried adjusting graphics settings and using adjust for best performance in the control panel, but to no avail. I heard somewhere that there was a registry thing I could do to make it run faster, but I couldn't find the right file in RegEdit. Does anybody know what I can do? And can someone tell me what that registry thing is and how to do it?
Miro
Where do you have your game from? Are you using any mods? Do you play with the DVD in your Drive? I found some good suggestions to increase your FPS, on a different site. 1) Close all un-needed programs programs. By this I mean, temporarily disable Anti-virus, close your internet browsers, if you have a torrent client running, turn that off too. Windows Media Player too since you really don't need that. Really. Fraps too UNLESS your gonna record something. For Anti-viruses like Avast! you can set a time limit for how long you want it disabled. 2) Turn all settings to low.All you need to do is go to Options --> Display Settings --> Advanced, turn Frame Limiter OFF (People with very high end PCs will notice a huge difference), Draw Distance LOW, Widescreen OFF. Visual FX Quality LOW. 3) Avoid HD mods. Don't download ENB, GTA IV cars, HD Peds, Weapons etc. 4) Gamebooster - It's a tool which closes all programs that aren't needed (even ones you don't see). Very handy. The best suggestions I've found. Hopefully this helps you. Dead (Retired)
Deminu
Ok, but I already stated that I tried the GFX settings. I am doing all of these things, but it doesnt make much of a difference. Could someone give me advice other then, "Duuuuuh, turn graphics settings down."? To answer your questions, a friend sent me his copy along with a NO-CD cracked exe, and I use a few very low poly cars and Niko Belic shirt pants and head. Miro
The mods are possibly your problem. But since you're using a crack, we can't help you. Please buy the game. Dead (Retired)
Deminu
Why can't you help me? A friend gave it to me. End of story. Please atleast tell me this registry thing I have heard about!
lil weasel
The crack may be contributing to problem. Remove the Crack and play with the DVD in the drive. Also, for the time being, remove all the mods. Play with a clean game install, and with the DVD properly. If you have the Original Rockstar DVD and a clean install you may not have the lag problem.
