fameframe
Since this game will be focusing on getting the almighty dollar, I suppose they would want you to work hard so you can have a sense of achievement. They said you will have A LOT of things to spend money on. So unlike in San Andreas you can be a billionaire in two seconds this one could have you work for it. streetx1xracer
wut. idk how that would be fun since cheats usually help you out or make the game more fun with crazy stuff. But i see what you did there.
Algonquin Assassin
Eh I don't see the problem with the money cheat being there. I've never used it myself. I do think R* need to make it harder to get money though. Try to counter things like the horse betting trick in SA for example.
EverBlazin
It was pointless last time, there was nothing to buy. Almost.
Racecarlock
It's a cheat. You won't have to use it. Besides which, it's a game. Not real life. Why should I have to work as hard as I do in real life?

Backfire6
I agree about IV, there is was really nothing to buy near the end. Besides more ammo. I already had all the "lack" of clothes. So I had a load of money that basically just collected dust. So ya....there better be more then just a few things to use money on like they say. And taking away that cheat? Doubtful but kind of would make sense for THIS one. But if they get rid of that cheat they might a s well not have codes at all....because then people will be like "well now where is the money cheat" lol And you'll see a lot of newbs demanding it. Miss Darko
There should be a money cheat because that's exactly the kind of thing they're used for. If you want the challenge then you don't use the cheats, like I plan to (for the first time when playing GTA, actually, so I'm not being all holier than thou or anything). But it should be kept separate from, say, the armor and health cheat and just be its own thing, because I think it was sometimes tied with that as well as advanced weapons. Miss Darko
^ Well then what's the point of playing the game with an invincibility cheat? It's the same deal but I still think there should be an invincibility cheat. Edited January 9, 2013 by Mr. Darko
Algonquin Assassin
If they make a money cheat then what is the point of the game? "The pursuit of the all mighty dollar with the exception of a number you can dial on your phone for $500,00." What was the point of every GTA that's included it? I agree it takes away the fun of obtaining it yourself, but the beauty of a cheat is it's not forced upon the player. If people want to use it to get out of a rut why should they be disadvantaged because you think it's pointless?

Why should I have to work as hard as I do in real life? Not sure if serious. When a game feels like work then it's not really doing it's job, is it? It is not real life. I should be able to use cheats if I want to. You probably won't, you don't have to, I'm fine with that. But sometimes I just want to buy a sports car, and for those times I should be able to cheat the cash in if I want to.
Durden
My genius plan: As soon as I make my first chunk of money, probaly from the first heist, I will likely have enough cash to buy any 1 thing in the game, no more. So I will save my game at that point into a seperate save slot, and experiment with every single thing in the game (buy submarines, guns, tanks, jets, cars, etc...) then I will know how everything operates! I won't do this on my 1st playthrough though, I want it to be fair game.
gtafan023
i know i gonna get warned or maybe ban but i wanna say some of you people are freakin retarded if you dont like cheats dont use it,i really never understand this pointless argument about cheats every person has their own right to enjoy their games DONT USE IT,the cheat is NOT ACTIVATED AUTOMATICALLY,its EVEN DISABLE ACHIEVEMENTS AND SUCH in SA i actually earn my cash in the game in a legit way and i never use any cheats at all LEARN TO CONTROL YOURSELF AND STOP BLAMING OTHER THINGS

TheMisanthrope
Pfft f*ck the money cheat. As long as theres a lower wanted level cheat if I need the money bad enough I'll do like I did in GTA: IV I'll run over multiple pedestrians get out take the money and repeat until desired amount is required.... may take some time but it'd work. meson1
In a game whose focus is 'the pursuit of the almighty dollar' and in which you need to attain money to progress, surely a money cheat is too much. It's a bit like having a 'win game' cheat. Cheats should aid you in the game. Not solve it for you.

They don't aid, they blow up the world then turn pedestrians blue. If you want your car to go 3*10^45mph and be a donut, it would be a viable option for a cheat. Why not add a cheat the makes carmeggedon? That doesn't aid, it's for fun. They're for fun, not for the story.

Why should I have to work as hard as I do in real life? This exactly. If I havn't got the time to play the game enough to get the really good rewards, then its nice to have the option to cheat. I've spent my money on the game just as the next person has... why should I enjoy it less just because life can be busy and hectic? If its a cheat then you have a choice of whether to use it or not. I'm not being entirely serious. Yes, but you said cheats are meant to aid you - what I said is that they're not, they're for fun. It depends on what you can spend money on, but it would be annoying to have something really expensive that you can't cheat into the game - and no money cheat. And sorry if I came off as a bit hot-headed
