It seems like GTA 4 had the most amount of actively speaking people in any online game for xbox 360. Even today, I've seen 6 people talking at once. This makes me hopeful that this will be similar in GTA 5.

So what I want to know is, are you going to have your mic plugged in and talk when you play? And if not, why?

And perhaps to encourage you to use a mic, at least in free mode, you should know that many people only kill other players without a mic, because they can't tell you to stop.

But I am going to use a mic. I find the game is 10x more fun when you can actually communicate.

I probably will have one but, I will be in a party with friends because the online people tend to get annoying.

Im not saying all people are annoying just most of them, commonly the ones that play music or have crappy mics, and yes I know you

can mute them, but its a hastle and a pain in the ass.

I bet they will make it easy to mute people, like how it was with RDR. And isnt it more of a hassle to fight off people who will kill you unless you can tell them that you're cool?

They way multiplayer was set up in GTA IV, you could only hear people on a mic if you had a mic.

I have not used my mic in 3 yrs, it only leads to fights...Too many teen a**holes in this game. There is ZERO mature conversation.

No, too many immature players out there. If they drive in the opposite direction in order to ram other players in multiplayer races, then I surely don't wan't to listen to whatever they have to say.

U beep once and I dont get in your car it should be obvious I don't want to get in your car. U beep twice I shoot in the air, U beep 3 times and you die.

I agree 100%, GTA IV has the most communication between players that I have seen. But all of 'em are annoying as hell. I don't use my mic in any game to be honest. Only when I'm in a party with friends, and they have to be people I know from school.

I only use my mic when Im in games with friends or when somebody attacks me and I want to hear them rage when they -insert my name here-

If I'm playing with friends: yes.

If I'm just playing by myself: no.

Too many annoying wanna-be gangster in IV... I don't imagine V will be any different.

Well, actually it will depend on my mood... But, It makes me realised, do you guys would like that you could hear the voices of the other players without having a mic? I mean in GTA IV, if you didn't have a mic pluged in, you couldn't hear anyone. Unless you are on PC...

@TheJasonGallant

I think I heard people talking in RDR occasionally and I don't have a mic, so I guess it might work that way in GTA V.

I dunno, I've thought about it. I saw a game mic specifically for my console of choice and it was pretty cheap, probably not great quality but something I could potentially get. I don't know though, I'm pretty shy and there's probably a lot of dicks out there, but there's been a lot of times where I feel like it would be more fun if I could actually communicate during my multiplayer sessions, so I guess it would depend on my mood. But I'd have to get a mic first.

On PS3, you cant hear anyone unless your mic is on. Im not sure about PC but on the 360, you can hear people without your mic on.

Speaking of talking with mics on multiplayer, it would be nice if you could have more than just a 2 person call. 3 or 4 person calls would be nice as its pretty annoying to mute everyone all the time. If not, it doesnt really matter.

Yeah, in RDR we could hear them...

But don't worry about dicks out there haha, there are but just like in real life, there are dicks and good people out there. A mic is worthing it... I have one... I mostly use it with my friends tho... Before, when I didn't have any on PSN, I used to always have it so I can get some people to speak with. And this shy thing, well it's less there when you're talking over the mic... At least, it depends how shy you are wink.gif

Yeah, well I have the game on PC.. And I can tell you that we hear them. I think it wasn't always the case on PC tho... It was included in a patch.

I didn't know about XBOX 360... I don't have this console.

I think the most fun I had online was in Multiplayer Racing and about 5-6 of us were all humming and singing Super Mario theme tunes together.

Had about 4-5 good experiences of having a mic on IV with the 360 but about 40-50 experiences of idiots hurling racial abuse and 'yo mama' jokes, so I invariably gave up using the mic in the end, every time i had it plugged in.

With people you know, or even with strangers when there's only a small few of you (3-4) it can be fun. Any more and you often have at least a muppet or two banging on about some nonsense or thinking they're real "too kool 4 skule lolz" kind of people.

I sometime use my mic online, depends who is on. I've met some decent online gamers and I chat to my RL friends either in a party or just over general chat but there are the odd few people that just try to 'give it' but I often find that the ones that say 'I gonna kill you and own you' etc etc are actually pretty crap and end up saying the phrase 'ok ok stop it stop killing me' lol.

The funniest one ive heard was yesterday... There was a kid of about 5 I reckon, and his mum (in her 50's, smoked, swore, probably dressed like an out of work chav - you get the picture) saying to her little boy

"This is a grown up game so if you get shot or hear swearing then thats part of it, just dont swear yourself, ok"

"Ok mum" then after a min or so... "he's killing me he's killing me (starts crying)"

"Thats part of the game"

"But he keeps freaking killing me"

"Dont f*ckING swear you little sh*t"

ahh, makes ya laugh.

If you haven't hit puberty and have a squeaky voice in public servers, leave the mic disconnected from the platform.

Honestly i dont know... So lets think. For the first 6 months of IV i had my mic in. I mostly used it when friends are online but here and there i would talk to randoms. Then by month 7 i couldnt stand the retard 15 and under year old morons who yap away talking sh*t. I dont care about this (not so secret) car behind a garage, nor how you are better, and the stupid rap played through your mic to assume the role that anyone in the game wants to hear your sh*tty crackly piss of a sound music. Gta's biggest problem? Too many little kids with big mouths and sh*tty taste. Gta has a wonderful radio with good/ bad music and ranting i would ever need to hear smile.gif

We can only hope for a hardcore free roam to thin out the young mouthy noob clowns that plague the game of all its glory. Sorry but if you wanna talk you can pm my ass and maybe then i will grace you ears with a conversation worthy of my tongue to speak.
