In my opinion jets are just as bad as helicopters if jets in gta v are able to hover then they will be able to circle strafe like a helicopter in gta iv.

A heat seeking missile should be a salution to take down a jet.

This is probably a minority opinion but I feel circle strafing is something the game developers could not have tested for and therefore I consider it a glitch.

Well I remembered an old idea to fix the AA/DA problem. Vehicle based game-modes (Mafiya Work/Car Jack City/Chopper VS Chopper/Club Business/Witness Protection/maybe Cops N Crooks as well) should be strict DA aiming game-modes, because you can't autoaim from a car/bike and that's where you're going to spend the most of your time in. I'll be pissed if this doesn't get included and once again see dead Car Jack City lobbies. In TLaD I switched to Any aiming system so I can find lobbies more easily.

Will Rockstar bite off more than they can chew

 

The pressure is on, since IV; online multiplayer as a whole has become more important in gaming. Rockstar want to deliver something special, they've already overhauled their social club website for crews and stats in Max Payne 3...so what will V do differently to set itself a part?

Rockstar has stated that Grand Theft Auto V's multiplayer component will redefine open-world games much like GTA III did for the single-player....

 

They've set their aims high, so V is likely to be completely different to IV, and if that is the case, will those who all liked IV so much, such as myself, will V just be too different to enjoy?

I just don't want to find every free mode with it being a battle from the sky, or a race to the fighter jet spawn.

That's a must fix, it sucks big time in the airport of IV.

What if V's Multiplayer will be like "WoW"? Not exactly like it, obviously, but from the core aspect - One big map, anyone can join at any time, you can do whatever you desire, you run into other people etc...Would this be possible?

 

Say you wanna do racing, so you make your way up north, cause that's where illegal street racing is going down. It's organic, there's no waiting in lobbies for game-modes to fill up and start, it's all happening ingame. On your way to the race you might come across 2 groups of people, dressed in green and purple, having a shootout in the middle of the streets seemingly fighting over turf. There are certain game modes in progress and you can spectate on those, or even jump in (don't know if possible...) as they're taking place in the same world you're in. Well don't mind the shooting and keep driving. Planes and helicopters in the sky, police sirens in the distance, there's lots of stuff going down...anything could happen. Maybe a dude tries to jack your car, or while you're at Burger Shot the place get robbed...who knows?!

 

One big Los Santos map with millions of players running around in it at the same time, each going after the benjamins, trying to rise to the top of Los Santos....that would be so awesome. Namsayin? Is it possible?

I feel like no one took this post seriously because of all the arguing over Auto aim, First of all GTA4 was R*'s first attempt at multiplayer, it wasn't made for COD fan boys & it definitely is not trying to be COD, so you really shouldn't be allowed to say sh*t about GTA5's multiplayer, you have no clue what's coming..

 

for all we know it could be like WOW, RDR's multiplayer was basically like that.

In my opinion I really didn't mind the small map specific areas in The Ballad of Gay Tony for Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch. That was fun as hell!

All the settings from GTA IV plus more and cheat options for private games.

No slow mo crap in MP

Weapons have to be bought if you want to spawn with your weapons, i you pick them up you lose them when you die

And I hope competitive modes won't have small map areas that was boring af in RDR.

Saying GTA Online will be as big as a leap forward as GTA III certainly sets insanely high expectations. Which leads me to believe they approached it from a completely new perspective. Maybe they trew everything into the open world, with randomized locations for all the normal multiplayer modes etc and added a money system where you wright your own story based on your actions, so essentially multiplayer would have evertything that singleplayer has.

I'm worried Rockstar might screw up the multiplayer, and here's why.

 

1) DLC and Small multiplayer maps outside of freemode

 

It's no secret that the number one selling games other than GTA on consoles are FPS's, I worry Rockstar will try to emulate this success by adapting similar things found in these games to V. By this I'm talking about maps that are small enough to camp in, and rip off downloadable content to make as much money as possible. Ballad of Gay Tony introduced small maps, and took away vehicles from team death matches. that to me isn't GTA. Having a whole island and lots of options on how to play a Team Death Match is, confinement to a certain area should only be reserved to games like Call of Duty. One of the things I liked so much about IV was also the simple fact that every gun was available to a new comer than a highly ranked player could also use, Red Dead Redemption didn't have this, and nor did Max Payne 3, you join a game there as a newcomer and you'll find all the better players are better equiped, not just better experienced.

 

2) Appealing to all players, particularly casual players too much

 

I hate to sound elitist, but I really do believe V should fully remove full autoaim from multiplayer, especially player vs player. And without doubt, player (on foot) vs player (in car). I think it's a mistake to split a community into two separate playing styles, and leads to a divide. If at the very least, no autoaim is default I'll be happy though.

 

3) Uninspired Modes and Over emphasis on free mode

 

Whilst I admit Free mode is an imagination gold mine, where you can literally invent anything you want and play however you wish, I'm hoping along side it and with as much attention there are unique modes, that set V apart from other games, sure include the standard Team Death Match and Races, but also add to it, the random and never repetitive modes from in IV and to an extent The Lost and Damned. I'd personally love to see Cops n Crooks return, and a version of Team Mafiya Work (Taking calls and doing jobs against other teams, in the very essence GTA). I found Ballad of Gay Tony disappointing online because they gave us all those brilliant weapons, parachutes and unique vehicles but they were only limited to tdm or free mode.

1) Disagree. Having the whole map in modes other than Free Mode was pure tedium. It f*cking sucked. God, I'm really playing that Rockstar never does that again. Players would just go to the airport while you were stuck in Bohan or Algonquin, waiting to have a shootout with someone. And you complaint about the weapons... It's called challenge. In Free Roam, I really don't care what weapons someone has. But in a Deathmatch or Team Deathmatch, players should have the freedom to create their own class. In RDR, players have the same weapons according to the map they're playing on, which also a good way to go. I'd like anything but the way GTA IV was.

 

2) Turn your auto-aim off and your problem is solved. Some people might not want to play without auto-aim. No one gives a sh*t about your preference, because you can edit it.

 

3) All of that sh*t sucked

Personally I would like decent size close maps for CTF,Deathmatch, protect the vip types of modes something like max Payne but obviously bigger considering their is going to be vehicles. Another thing that got to go is "AIM LOCK" it takes no skills at at all. if they can implement a system like Saints ROW 1 online like customization/leader boards/gang lobbies/in game gang matches this game is going to be highly addictive.

I don't think I can be disappointed. I've always been a single-player guy, and never really got into GTA IV's online (or RDR's). If it does turn out to be as amazing as stated, then that's swell, but if it doesn't, it's really no hair off my back.

I like it i like it i like it! It would gives a chance also to let crews settle into certain roles, like some crews could exclusively deal in drug runs, while another deals in policing, while another is anti drugs and waging war on drug running gangs while tryna do weapon runs themselves in their spare time while other players wont be involved in any of this drama at all!!

 

In IVs multiplayer free roam, there was always the possibility of random madness, just the other day i jumped from a helicopter onto an enemies tugboat in the middle of the sea and smoked him, if they introduce all sorts of mini features this random madness will have endless possibilities

 

Anyone who hasnt played red dead mp should check it out. I imagine V will be a much more advanced version of this free roam.
