If its getting delayed we might hear on 5th feb at TTWO's latest conference call.

And on the trademark process for the GTAV words and design, they have until 4th march 2013 to file an SOU, so im keeping a watch on that!! wink.gif

We should have the date by or on February 5th then it seems.

Personally, I believe it will be delayed to October. (Usual GTA releases except IV)

Hate to say it, but I agree.

Why? You don't think we'll get anything else with the box art reveal?

I don't think there will be that long of a delay. April scheduled release delayed to may. Rockstar has put alot towards making sure the meet their deadline this time around.

Instead of hastily announcing a release date they are waiting further into development to be sure they set a reasonable release date.

As far as release date announcements by the end of the month wing a must, I'm not so sure about that. As long as its announces about a month before release it should give retailers enough of a buffer time and prevent retailed leaks of the date. IMO

If they won't announce it with the box-art reveal, what we got to look forward to is their next conference in early February. At that conference they are gonna say the exact release date for the game or comunicate a delay, I'm pretty sure about that. We won't reach mid-February without any of that.

You know they could just announce it on like a Monday or something. There's no rules for this kind of thing.

That was with the original release dates but now look when the announcements happened later. On January 24th 2008 Rockstar Games and Take-Two announced that GTA IV would release on April 29th 2008 and that was when the release date actually happened! Red Dead Redemption's release date for April 27th 2010 was announced when the official trailer was released on December 1st 2009, although the trailer was leaked on November 26th/27th. On March 3rd 2010 Rockstar announced that Red Dead Redemption had been pushed back from April 27th to May 18th/21st. As you already said, the release date of Max Payne 3 was announced on September 8th 2011 for March 2012. Rockstar Games announced on January 17th 2012 that Max Payne 3 has been pushed back from March to May 15th.

Yes sir, you're right. What i was trying to say is that within the conference, we'll have something to discuss about, they are pretty much forced to say something.

that's just my opinion obv wink.gif

Well, yeah, a lot of people will ask about a concrete release date of GTA V but I think they won't say more than that the game will release on Q1 fiscal year 2014 which is April 1st to June 30th and that is within the Spring 2013 release window.

Never say never.

But i think most people would be surprised if it was delayed at this stage. Even R* themselves.

Aim for April 29th - May 24th wink.gif

I doubt R* will delay it just "because" ..also and what if it even happened? It's not like end of the world ..Bioshock Infinite has been delayed 2 times by now and no one has suffered by it ..just continue your daily lifes and you will get to play it eventually

April-May. Not March. 99%. There are so many other games in March and Bioshock Infinite. Also new fiscal year starts in April.

Geralt of Rivia
This thread reminds me of the RIDICULOUS and repetitive threads predicting an October 2012 release date. People repeatedly kept expecting Game Informer to reveal the release date in each successive month since June. When October came and went with ZERO activity, the next big prediction was December, because of Christmas. When the same thing didn't happen again, THEN it became a prediction about "fiscal year!" this and "fiscal year!" that. WRONG AGAIN.

Finally Rockstar told us it would be Spring of 2013. This is the only CONCRETE release period we have received. Stop worrying about delays and predictions. The whole point of saying it would be in the Spring is to avoid painting themselves into a corner with a specific date. Spring gives them a span of several months between March and June to nail down a definitive date, thus avoiding any delays.

To just arbitrarily decide that the end of January means anything in regards to a delay is stupid, and no different than those ridiculous October release date predictions we were being hounded with on a daily basis. They were wrong THEN, and this is wrong NOW.

Are you stupid? How was the fiscal year wrong? R* expected a sh*tload of money this fiscal year, and then when they announced GTA 5 to not be in this fiscal year, they drastically reduced their predictions.

If you can't put 2 and 2 together (I know, it's hard sometimes sarcasm.gif ), it means that when we were using the fiscal year as evidence, we were right. Not "wrong"

Some people will never lose their ignorance... sigh.gif

Man, all of us young impressionable gamers adopted the gang lifestyle after playing GTA-SA. We're living on the edge -- every day could be our last. We can't wait for "eventually." We could be dead on the street any day now. happy.gif

As was mentioned above, the next TTWO financal telecon will take place on 5 Feb 2013.

Press Release: Take-Two Interactive – Tue, Jan 8, 2013 8:00 AM EST..

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (TTWO) announced today that it plans to report financial results for the third quarter of fiscal year 2013 ended December 31, 2012 after the market close on Tuesday, February 5, 2013. The Company plans to hold a conference call to discuss the results at 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time, which can be accessed by dialing (877) 407-0984 or (201) 689-8577. A live, listen-only webcast and a replay of the call will be available at http://ir.take2games.com/.

I am sure we will be glued to our screens here on the GTAF listening to the minute-by-minute reporting of that call, even though we know from past experience that it probably won't give us any insight. But it's something, rather than nothing, to see if they indicate when they expect GTAV to improve their financials.

R* themselves were expecting gta5 by 2013, its obvious just by looking at their release pattern. The game was delayed internally obviously.

You have some f*cking nerve calling anyone stupid or ignorant. Your predictions were completely wrong time and time again. When one of your predictions failed, you simply went on to do another prediction. You were all about the FISCAL year, which had NOTHING to do with a Springtime 2013 release date. Stop trying to defend your flat out wrong predictions by claiming you were right all along. How the F*CK does a Spring release coincide with your 2012 fiscal year garbage? Furthermore, you had admitted you were wrong before when several people started calling you out on your bullsh*t, but NOW you are telling people you were right?

You have every right to your opinion, but don't expect for people to not call you out when it turns out you are wrong. The fiscal year for 2012 does NOT stretch out into Spring of 2013, but i sure you will tell everyone that it does. suicidal.gif

And again with your ignorance sigh.gif Either ignorance, or you have no idea what you're talking about.

"You have some f*cking nerve calling anyone stupid or ignorant."

Not really. I tell that to a lot of people. It's the internet. If you can't take it, don't go on it. Especially when you try to act like you understand what I'm talking about, when you don't

"Your predictions were completely wrong time and time again."

Key word: Predictions. Predictions are almost never right. That's why they're predictions

"You were all about the FISCAL year, which had NOTHING to do with a Springtime 2013 release date."

How many times do we have to go through this? GTA 5 wasn't scheduled for Spring 2013. It was scheduled for anytime before March 31st, as the financial predictions said time and time again. Notice how when R* told us a Spring 2013 release, the predictions went down by a lot? This tells us that the game was internally delayed. Unless you can prove (which you can't) That R* lied for months upon months, just to change it at the last second, then I'm right and the financial predictions prove it.

"How the F*CK does a Spring release coincide with your 2012 fiscal year garbage?"

I just explained that. R* told us they expected to make a sh*tload of money, money they only ever get when a GTA game is released. To get that money, they would have to release the game before March 31st. However, when they told us that it's not in this fiscal year, that it's a Spring release, the predictions lowered immensely. That means GTA 5 was delayed and originally slated for release this fiscal year, but slipped into the next fiscal year.

"Furthermore, you had admitted you were wrong before when several people started calling you out on your bullsh*t, but NOW you are telling people you were right?"

The only thing I ever admitted to was that my 2012 theories were wrong. The only one that called me out on my "bullsh*t" was you, which you did repeatedly, even when I proved you wrong time and time again, you would never respond to me. You would only keep spewing that I was wrong. You know what that's called? Ignorance

"You have every right to your opinion, but don't expect for people to not call you out when it turns out you are wrong."

The only problem with that is I'm not wrong sarcasm.gif

"The fiscal year for 2012 does NOT stretch out into Spring of 2013, but i sure you will tell everyone that it does."

That's just stupid honestly. R* will anounce a spring release date this month. Think about people, box art and release date coming this month! Two weeks from today even!!! R* will reveal the cover art and release date with in two weeks from today. Maybe the reveal box art next week, and the release date a week after. Either way, time will tell! cool.gif

Oh yeah, it's obvious it was delayed internally. That's why they didn't announce a release date, they knew there might have been delays, and so they didn't wanna risk it. Too bad the financial forecasts kinda ruined that, but it turned out good for them in the end anyway.

"Key word: Predictions. Predictions are almost never right. That's why they're predictions"

You can't even comprehend the stupidity of this statement. You continue to claim you were "right", while at the same time explaining how predictions are usually WRONG.

Then you top it off with THIS gem:

"The only thing I ever admitted to was that my 2012 theories were wrong" Of course, you turn right around and say THIS:

"The only problem with that is I'm not wrong".

As for your idea that it's ok for you to name call because "it's the internet", i was suspended for doing just that, so i'm trying to be as cordial as possible, by letting you know that once again, YOU ARE WRONG. Your responses are incredibly immature, and you replies defy logic.

Nobody even mention you by name, and yet you felt compelled to come back and defend your INCORRECT predictions.

Finally this:

"GTA 5 wasn't scheduled for Spring 2013. It was scheduled for anytime before March 31st, as the financial psaid time and time againredictions . Notice how when R* told us a Spring 2013 release, the predictions went down by a lot? This tells us that the game was internally delayed. 1- "How many times do we have to go through this? GTA 5 wasn't scheduled for Spring 2013. It was scheduled for anytime before March 31st, as the financial predictions said time and time again."

YOU chose to buy the so called financial predictions. No one at Rockstar EVER directly claimed anything about this having to do with GTAV, as most of these "predictions" came from so called analysts.

2- "Notice how when R* told us a Spring 2013 release, the predictions went down by a lot?"

Of COURSE they went down by a lot, because this was the FIRST time Rockstar gave ANY definitive information concerning a release date. It would be pretty stupid to come out after that, and claim anything different.

3- This tells us that the game was internally delayed. Unless you can prove (which you can't) That R* lied for months upon months, just to change it at the last second, then I'm right and the financial predictions prove it."

This tells us NOTHING. It tells us that GTAV is coming in the Spring. I don't have to prove anything, because there isn't anything that points to Rockstar lying about anything. You ran away with some false prediction that relied heavily on the IDEA that it was all about GTAV. YOU are the one who spun a tale out of a simple financial report. Financial reports don't guarantee ANYTHING, and analysts were making assumptions that it just HAD to be all about GTAV. Not ONCE did Rockstar ever validate anything about this.

You can go ahead and continue beating your chest and repeating that you were "right", but anyone with working brain cells will laugh at your contradictory statements.

Not "wrong"

Some people will never lose their ignorance... sigh.gif

Wait. WTF. When did this happen?? yawn.gif

Oops.. I wasn't aware of this.. this changes everything..

March is totally out the window.. Early April is out of the window aswell..

Now I can only see late April and May as being possible.

So much for all those twats saying that Rockstar WILL NOT change their fiscal predictions for 2013 because it looks bad... lol.. Take2 does what it has to.

just because past releases were between 4-6 months, that means absolutely nothing.

I do think we'll get a date this month though, or early Feb.

Its called an estimate. And I disagree. Rockstar's games always have a 4 - 6 month gap between announcement and actual release. And I dont think that will change anytime soon. You'll see what I mean when they announce the release date .

Hey, I'll say that its a good observations, and patterns tend to stay the same, but everything is evolving to where the past doesnt matter.

Considering its January, and the game is coming April-June, obviously it'll be 4-6 months.
