That was very unspecific. Now they're giving specific dates or months. The second trailer was delayed but that wasnt Rockstars fault. They still released it in the correct month. I have no doubt that we will see the box art this month, possibly with a 3rd trailer release date or the games release date. But this is all speculation. They have obviously learnt their lessons from delaying and leaking too much information from previous games and are being tactful with GTA V. As to the business about T2's fiscal downgrading for this financial year, it does not mean releasing before march '13 is out of the question. They know V is going to be a prominent success. Therefore I wouldn't be at all surprised if at the end of this month when they reveal the cover artwork, they'll reveal to the world a release date sooner than expected. I'm no expert on how long it takes to get the game onto discs and shipped out but I can imagine rockstar are either already in the process, or have it ready to go as soon as the nods given. People repeatedly kept expecting Game Informer to reveal the release date in each successive month since June. When October came and went with ZERO activity, the next big prediction was December, because of Christmas. When the same thing didn't happen again, THEN it became a prediction about "fiscal year!" this and "fiscal year!" that. WRONG AGAIN. Finally Rockstar told us it would be Spring of 2013. This is the only CONCRETE release period we have received. Stop worrying about delays and predictions. The whole point of saying it would be in the Spring is to avoid painting themselves into a corner with a specific date. Spring gives them a span of several months between March and June to nail down a definitive date, thus avoiding any delays. To just arbitrarily decide that the end of January means anything in regards to a delay is stupid, and no different than those ridiculous October release date predictions we were being hounded with on a daily basis. bakerach Posted January 10, 2013 Share Posted January 10, 2013 (edited) I've thought all along that Rockstar is going to try to really be different with V, like maybe some sort of quick release without tons of info ahead of time (which, given it's not that far from Spring, is not completely unlikely) and sort of do the Radiohead / In Rainbows treatment to build lots of hype by breaking the standard model (that was when they announced their first album in 4 years 10 days before it was released-- for whoever didn't know) . Digital release on day 1 maybe, or whatever crazy multiplayer they have lined up, but I could definitely see them announcing a March/April release date with the cover reveal at the end of this month. I hope R* proper try and break us with the ultimate joke on the April the 1st and reveal they have pulled GTAV and wont be releasing it... that'll get people talking!
