Dare I say Fuel, Like Mafia 2.

No no no. Getting gas is never fun in real life and being in a game will not improve it.

I actually tried getting gas in mafia II once. Stopped at the station, pressed a button, and sat there waiting for my fuel tank to fill up.

I'm completely serious, this is what it's like.

Does that look fun? No. It's realistic, but that doesn't count as an excuse anymore. Doing taxes would also be realistic, but I don't see anyone suggesting that.

"But it makes it more immersive!"

Yeah, but you're just immersing yourself in a world where you have to do all the same boring chores you have to do in real life. So, it makes immersion and even playing the game itself kind of pointless. Because it's not fun anymore, it's just a second life.

I know I'll get a few confused.gifs for this, but turn signals are a little detail I've always wanted. It just bugs me how everyone in the world uses them except the player.

I was thinking the same thing. something little to add. just something to make it that much better.

good stuff here gentlemen cool.gificon14.gif

i would like to have:

- bulletholes in victims !! like in RDR and countless other games so far.. sly.gif

- a bit more gore .. again like in RDR when you shoot someone in the head there is a gaping hole on the other side that was sick colgate.gif

- taking hostages (im pretty sure this is confirmed already)

- more recoil to weapons !!

- weapons that go BOOM ! not those pathetitc "pop pop" sounds like the basic pistol in gtaIV.. (was it a glock or something like that) .. i really hated that sound it sounded so lame and weak

- cars that sound like cars !!!! again in gtaIV some cars sounded like f*cking blender mad.gif

- speedometer (i know i know it isnt a racing game blaah bhaal.. but a bit more realistic)

- when you shoot 1 round and realod you loose all the remaining bullets in the magazine .. i love this in other games.. it makes you think like in real life..

- ability to carry cash... i really dont see a reason to put ATMs around the city just to see how much you got.. especially when your money shows up allways on the upper right corner in the hud colgate.gif cmon...

- a little bit of shaking camera when you run fast.. not much but a lil shake tounge2.gif like in Gears Of War..

- when flying a buzzard (or any other helicopter with guns) you have a some kind of crosshair so you dont have to shoot blindly

- ability to make awesome longer drifts in high speed.. not too much but better that in gtaIV.. in IV it felt that when in slide the car just stopped... they said it feels more racing game so i have high hopes for this cool.gificon14.gif

- ability to use michaels rappeling skills on every building in freeroam.. kind of like parachute..

- looting bodies !! i hate when the guns and money just fly on the streets when you shot someone biggrin.gif

all of these are those lil things that i miss and they bring so much to the game tounge2.gif

Some really trivial things here that can really improve a game's atmosphere, DRASTICALLY

- When walking down the street, better ambient noises. So if you're in the ghetto you should hear the occasional siren and gunshot, if you're in a busy area you should hear alot of chattering in the background with alot of different sound effects (someone's phone ringing, somebody dropping something, somebody shouting for a friend etc)

- After turning off your engine, the vehicle should be locked. If it's an "expensive" car, when you're walking towards it to enter it, your character will automatically pull the keys out of their pockets, press the unlock button and you'll hear a little "bloop bloop" sound while your hazard lights flash.

- Hearing the radio from other's cars and those driving past.

- In the ghetto, seeing people get pulled over, cuffed and taken away

- When driving, other drivers occasionally having a small crash, or someone gets cut off and they slam their brakes and a small amount of traffic gets held up with some car horns being sounded.

- Occasional roadblocks for roadworks (occasionally with some wooden planks able to be used as a ramp, and a barricade to smash through)

- Street racers racing through the city with cops following (ambient event, help the cops or racers, each give a reward.

- Drug deals in alleyways (ambient event, with the possiblity to walk right in with an assault rifle and take the cash and the drugs)

I agree with the little alarm feature. Not as a truly functional thing but an immersion thing.

- ability to do drugs, sell drugs and steal drugs

- ability to rob convenient stores

- buy and smoke ciggerettes

- ability to purchase, steal and sell alcohol. ( get drunk longer, can shoot weapon while drunk, less stumbling than IV)

- vehicle customization and rare vehicles plus a place to store them

-All the lights working on emergency vehicles.

-Continuous highways to just cruise on.

Already confirmed, but I can't wait to take a semi the wrong way down the freeway and take out cars with even better vehicle damage.

lot of good replies..

i have a couple odd ones lol

i wanna see ghosts and sasquatchs.

Like if your in the woods you might see one run by far away or something.

And maybe you can do some weird ghostly like effect randomly in a dark alley.

What about a working web browser in the computer cafe's ?

more wild life in general would be good.

just a couple random things off the top of my head..

mostly i wanna see them do stuff that push's the boundaries / edge.

put some stuff in that will make the public cry and whine and bitch n moan devil.gif

it's Grand theft auto so lets make it bad ass and not politically correct !

give douche bags out there a reason to complain about GTA and its horrible influence on people lol

Gas

Again? Again with the gas? Really? It's not fun. I don't care what tom sawyer's been telling you, he's just trying to trick you into filling up his tank. It's as exciting as watching paint dry and as fun as getting gas in real life is, that is to say, not at all.

It's not fun, it's a chore. It's not an exciting activity, it's getting f*cking gas. I don't care what anyone says, this should not be in GTA V!

I know, let's get rid of the guns and the violence, the heists and the robberies, the socialisation systems, the minigames and everything else. And let's rename GTA:V to "Gas Station Simulator".

Experience the excitement of a full service stop, the thrill of shopping in a trashy little gas station store and the danger of using the gas station restroom. Feel the tension as you observe safety regulations regarding naked flames and using cell phones. Not to mention the full on, mind blowing experience of pumping gas just like you do in real life.

Game Informer - "Awesome. It was like we were really there."

IGN - "Not to be missed."

Gamespot - "We jizzed our pants - literally."

Gas Station Simulator - Coming Spring 2013.

I'll get on the phone to Rockstar and tell the Housers they've been doing it wrong all these years, shall I?

I can't even laugh at that. I know you're joking, but I can't laugh at that. Too many people have un-ironically suggested this feature that making a joke at this point seems like a quaint argument.

I don't know what these people do for entertainment. Is there a movie that just goes through someone's normal life without anything unusal happening? I've heard of some guy name Dostoevsky who writes books like that which is probably where they get their literature.

Also, doesn't the sims exist? Oh, but sims doesn't have driving. In that case, city car driving or gran turismo maybe? Hell, there already is a sandbox game with fuel out there. It's called mafia II. And the DLC episodes have free roaming. Why also take GTA V and turn it into that? Why make me suffer through tedious crap just because you can't suspend your disbelief far enough to believe that cars don't require fuel. You people must have thought avengers and every other superhero thing ever was crap because it was unrealistic.

But you know, there are simulators out there for you guys. Many racing games, mafia II, and if you want hunger, the sims. Why GTA V too? I mean, I suppose Saints Row 4 could be good if corporate stops f*cking with sh*t, but then when V is a simulator, I feel as if they will then move on. To the saints row forums. Next thing I know, Saints Row 5 also has gas and hunger and the need to go to the toilet. At which point I will give up and see if I can invest in yearly F1 simulators. At lest F1 sims are fun. Mostly.

whats the problem with gas anyways? if they do it like in Mafia 2, you'll barely have to fill up your gas tank cause it never goes down... in Mafia 2 I only filled it up once the whole game -.-

Anyways, i'd like the game to have a simple thing they should've had in the other GTA's like sitting, smoking, walk with your dog (in this case, franklin's dog) and please make police more realistic... realistic in the way that if your not in their line of sight, they must search for you, and not run right into your location. And a couple of other things

There is no way in persuading them since they want the game to be built to their liking...and if they did implement it in the game I'm very much sure they will do it correctly. Oh and play the sims? They are taking a step to that with yoga which is completely useless.

Gas doesn't really add something to the game. I never expect to stop and see Robert DeNiro fill up on gas in Ronin because it really wouldn't further the story unless some important dialogue or a smoothing happened at a gas station. There's a difference between what's good for immersion and what fulfills a realism fantasy

Yes 2k is also working on gta v.i saw it somewhere a while a go.

But this thread is like the wishlist thread.

its actually not confirmed if 2k helped, actually i dont think they helped.

Yeah what i meant is that the devs of mafia 2 are 2k chech.

i know ? dozingoff.gif

Yeah so they helped yes.

No. They didn't. 2k Czech came out and issued a denial when that rumour started getting touted around as news.

GTA fan from the United Kingdom

Drinking (if it is like TBoGT i will be more than happy)

Get High: Marijuana, Cocaine, LSD/Acid

More interaction with pedestrians, being able to speak to them etc.

More interiors

Pedestrians going about their daily lives, mowing the lawn, fixing their car, some pedestrians being hostile towards you if you go in a shady area, i know they had this in IV but it would be cool if they started hurling abuse at you and started smashing up your car and throwing sh*t at you

Hippies smoking bud in the countryside

Drunk people

Buses/coaches as a way of travelling

Exactly. It would be completely useless as a feature. Unless they were to increase the rate the fuel goes down, in which case it would be annoying.

Either way, it sucks.

Some little things I'd like is a better fighting system like in Sleeping dogs, able to throw people in trunks and take them out. Able to use the environment to attack, like in Sleeping dogs when you can throw people over ledges or smash them into walls. Able to use your turn signals. Able to interact with the environment more, being able to jump and climb more often. A little better car damage system, like hubcaps flying off when you take turns at high speeds, inteiror damage of cars, if possible. Being able to see little animations like the dome light turn on and stuff when the door is open. Probably more little features I'd like, but can't think of them at the moment.

So you go to a station of some sort where there are moles and do ... what exactly?

When the tires pop on your car and you carry on driving id like to see the bottom part start to become red due to friction and then when you stop it slowly cools down. itll add that little pinch of realism for me

Exactly. It would be completely useless as a feature. Unless they were to increase the rate the fuel goes down, in which case it would be annoying.

Either way, it sucks.

Hate (love) to play devil's advocate, but a fuel requirement could enhance certain minigames. For example, Franklin's repo missions could involve stealing cars with variable amounts of gas in the tank. For cars running on fumes, you have to make it to a gas station before the car dies, perhaps by using downhills and strategically planning your route to the nearest station. If you fail to make it, you fail the mission. It could make the missions more exciting and wouldn't happen every time (kinda like how Jacob's drug running missions from IV had a few different types).

Fuel could also provide for a more visceral experience in free roam. You're trying to get away from the cops and steal a car with next to nothing in the tank and have a very cinematic "f*ck me" moment. Then, thinking on your feet, you strategize from there: do I drive the car and hope it's enough or just take off on foot through the alley and hope for something better? To some this may seem tedious, but to someone who really enjoys the gameplay and going with the flow, these dilemmas make the game that much more fun and visceral.

In any case, a fuel requirement could be circumvented by cheats, inventory items (i.e., gas cans), and/or perks (like the ability to call a friend's tow truck business?). The real point here is that suggesting fuel is "completely useless" and sucks no matter what strikes me as a bit closed-minded and absolutist. It only takes a little imagination to envision how it could be fun.
