Ah dangit, I was expecting a joke in there. Expected you to say "So about May 1, 2008". Hah. Well its true. Only reason i liked playing gtaIV in late 08 is thats when it was set. TNAEnigma Posted January 8, 2013 Share Posted January 8, 2013 Picked IV up in 2009 played it a little, went back to PC modded SA alittle with graphic enchancments, played that for a while because I love Los Santos, then went like come on man you'll get used to LC, came to the end of IV still playing that just free roaming, then trailers came and I saw Los Santos and went f*ck LC I WANT THAT!!! and since then I am just reading news, discussions, more news and more discussions. Dick Valor Posted January 8, 2013 Share Posted January 8, 2013 As soon as I started playing GTA IV. I loved that game, but I almost instantly wanted to see what R* would do with the next GTA. There were too many things in GTA IV that were almost there, but missed the mark for me in some way. It was like playing a next gen GTA III, but I already knew that eventually we would see a next gen VC or SA. This. Going into it, I always knew IV was going to be III in HD, which made me focus on what was improved upon rather than what was missing (no parachutes did sting a bit though). I bought my PS3 for IV, but also with the understanding that there would have to be another HD GTA in the near future (a next-gen VC and/or SA). Fortunately, we're getting the latter. However, I didn't start actively searching for GTA V info until mid-2011, when I had played IV, EFLC, and RDR to death and was growing desperate for a sequel. There were only a few rumors about V then as it was not officially announced until months later, but this is when my truly obsessive anticipation/waiting began. Must have been late 2012, during the last quarter. Actually not that long ago but it feels like I've been waiting for years already. I was/am really into Max Payne 3, had been playing almost everyday for 5 months straight, so I was on the newswire a lot to check on things and there I noticed seemingly angry people ranting V this....V that...V NOW. 7 months without info, you killin us R* and all that noise. I had seen the 1st trailer when it was released. Back then I thought "yeeeah sunshine, the beach, countryside....this will be great". I watched the trailer like 20 times, but then moved on. So when I was on the newswire for Max Payne 3 a year or so later, I witnessed those raids occuring -> walls of "GTA V INFO NOW" comments everywhere, over 9000 at least. I didn't understand why they'd be so crazy for info on "a game" to come, when R* just released one of the most epic games in the last 5 years. In Retrospective, I do somewhat understand Anyhow it was because of those people, DEMANDING info and so forth, that I re-found my interest in V. I started discussing expectations for the V on the newswire but I was clearly speaking for the minorty if not for myself only when I was basically taking a stand saying: "why you wanna know so much about the game, not knowing anything would be the greatest experience ever, stop demanding info". I said I would try to abstain from core info like who's the character, what's the background, new video footage was a no-go for sure. "Spoiler-free for the V" was the slogan. I pictured myself starting the game without knowing anything aside from the game taking place in a revisited HD Los Santos. It was such a mystery, it was magic. But then something happened ;D Word got back to the newswire that trailer #2 would soon arrive. I didn't know what to think of that. Tried not to watch it...but then I did, and ever since I couldn't stay away from anything V related. I tried to be strong and not read that GI article and interviews, but I failed at that too. When I read The Benz's interview I finally caught the feVer, that had me seriously hooked. So hooked I've bought the Complete Edition of IV and jumped back into Liberty City, this time for good. In 2008 I had played IV very briefly, I just now discovered the epicness it contains really. I am totally in love with R.A.G.E....and I can't wait to see what R* is cooking up to further pimp it. All the good aspects they learned from games like RDR or MP3.....imported and further developed into and for V, oh this V.... So I'm currently, more or less patiently, waiting for about 3 months. Might be peanuts in comparison to some here but I gotta wait for the PC release so you can add extra months on top of the orignal release. I count at least +1 month, worst case scenario +6 months. edit: And now I'm going to play the waiting game, as in IV. Currently got the DJANGO UNCHAINED soundtrack running on Independent FM.
