Brown Sugar
The trailer looks creepy as hell, I've never saw the original but this looks so good i will probably see the original before this comes out.
Mr. Scratch
The original is great but the next 2 movies are more comedy than horror, still good movies.
darthYENIK
I disagree, Evil Dead 2 is definitely more horror than comedy. Or at least a 50/50 blend. It's also the best in the trilogy. Army of Darkness on the other hand is definitely more comedy/action adventure than horror. This remake looks f*cking awesome. They may not have found a new lead actor who is as charismatic as Bruce Campbell, who is irreplaceable, but they definitely found someone who looks like she can chew up just as much scenery in Jane Levy. Who I actually enjoy in Suburgatory.
Algonquin Assassin
Oh f*ck yeah. I love the original. This looks insane.
Mr. Scratch
Yeah Raimi calls it comedy horror and it works pretty well, also i love how the characters are still like in the original but with other names and roles, like Scotty now reciting the passage from the Necronomicon,Mia(Jane Levy) being the main character but also is the main deadite in the film and that David guy who is basically Ash but he doesn't survive. WF the Hobgoblin
I've only seen the first two and while I did think they were pretty good, I just don't have the same reverence for the films (especially the second) as a lot of people do. Bit too much daylight for my liking but this looks intriguing.
Mr. Scratch
Funny thing is the director made a mod for Left 4 Dead way before he got the gig.
Ryda King
Funny thing is the director made a mod for Left 4 Dead way before he got the gig. How in the hell do you go from modding a game to remaking a popular horror movie? Anyway, movie actually looks good. I'd prefer no Ash in the movie. That's just one of those roles than be played by no one else but Bruce. Also respect to the guy for not using CGI either.
Mr. Scratch
Somehow he did it,Raimi picked him for making a short about giant robots invading Montevideo on a budget of 300$,and Ash won't be in the movie, this David guy is just a sort of tribute to him,its alot more like Within the Woods which is pretty much the first Evil Dead, also if you put the names of all the characters together David,Eric,Mia,Olivia,Natalie...you figure out the rest. fridaynightscream
This weekend I'm gonna watch Evil Dead, Evil Dead II, Army of Darkness, and the Evil Dead (2013) redband trailers for the first time.
Mr. Scratch
Just don't drunk anything when there is a funny scene otherwise you might choke.
Mr. Reaper.
I can't wait to see this. But I'm not going to see this as "The Evil Dead" I'll see it as the modern lesser version of Evil Dead. Evil Dead without Bruce Campbell is just.. terrible. You watch the classics now and yes, they're comedy. But in their day, it was HORROR with a light dark humor. I can't wait to see how 'Hollywood' this 'Ash' will be.. sigh...
Kirsty
Now that looks good for a remake of such a classic. The gore actually looks decent, I just hope they can get the atmosphere right with the fog around the cabin like the old one.
inflamedeyeball
I love the originals, especially II. I'm weary of this remake, but considering the people producing it it should turn out well enough. Either way, we should all be thankful that this isn't released by Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes. It have a deep resentment for all of the horror remakes that company shat out.
Mr. Scratch
There won't be a female Ash,this Mia character is a drug addict who goes to the cabin for a intervention, and when she gets possessed and acts crazy all the characters think she's just going cold turkey...until she starts killing them. Nitros Oxide
I was a bit skeptical when I first heard about it, it's impossible to recreate what Bruce Campbell did. But after seeing the trailer it looks pretty good, and it's nice to hear that Bruce Campbell was actually involved in making it. Makes me feel better about it. fridaynightscream
So I just watched the original for the first time, I'm gonna watch Evil Dead II in a bit. My thoughts: The oldness of the film take out of it a bit, it has aged. However, it was creepy I can give it that. It was just some cheap 80's horror, though I'm sure the sequels are better, and I'm sure the remake with its new stuff will be awesome, and from I've heard and from what has been said here the trailers are scary as well. So overall, I give The Evil Dead a 6/10.

fridaynightscream
Thoughts on Evil Dead II: Confused on why it ignores the first film completely and goes for the more comedic route. It was still a great horror comedy and was very fun to watch. Best moment was when Ash cut his hand off then put a garbage can on it saying "Here's your new home!" Then putting a book on it called "A Farwell To Arms" laughed at loud at that Overall, I give Evil Dead II a 7/10. I have yet to watch Army of Darkness and the two reband trailers for the remake, I will tonight though.
darthYENIK
Evil Dead II, in a way is a remake, but I consider it a sequel still, that takes place after Ash is "attacked by the camera" at the end of the first movie. I consider that part in the second movie to be the part where Ash goes flying through the forest. Everything before that is, in my mind, an elaborate recap of what happened in the first movie, minus the friends. The same thing is done in Army of Darkness to a much lesser extent, that's more of a normal recap.
fridaynightscream
I watched the two red band trailers for the remake but I still haven't watched Army of Darkness. The remake looks, from the words of Peter Griffin, "Pretty freaking sweet!" I wonder if it'll live up to the poster tagline "The Most Terrifying Movie You'll Ever Experience." I also watched the Green Band trailer which sucked.
Mr. Scratch
There is a green band trailer? What did they replace the blood with kool aid?
fridaynightscream
There is a green band trailer? What did they replace the blood with kool aid? They replaced it with chocolate. I admit the ending of the greenband trailer was cool when the blonde chick gets dragged down the cellar, I bet the tongue cutting scene is right after that! Mr. Scratch
Yeah i watched it and i was like WTF,there is that part where Mia is driving a blue station wagon and out of no where pops out...her deadite self?It has more to show than the redband version. TheJonesy
Just got back from watching it; it was gruesome as sh*t. One of the most bloodiest movies I've seen. I wouldn't doubt that the majority of the movie's budget was spent on prop blood. Definitely a movie that keeps you tense the whole way through. The kind of horror flick that can make you jump but still be an enjoyable ride.
Mr. Scratch
The premiere is on May 10 here,so I'll stay the hell away from this topic until I see it.
