Andreas
The game will run but only on lowest settings and don't expect a decent framrate. GTAForums Crew Chat Thread - The Sharks Chat Thread - Leone Family Mafia Chat Thread

Prometheus
Anytime man, anytime. Seriously though, I'd say it could be playable on Low settings, depending on the resolution.
radioman
I'd say it could be playable on Low settings, depending on the resolution. Not really, I had almost an identical set up, and it barely ran at 10fps on all bare minimum settings and bare minimum resolution(800X600)... OP, You will need a new Video card and processor to run the game optimally, as the Pentium is a weak processor for modern gaming, imo...
luceberg
The E5400 is not that bad a cpu, better than the old pentium D. http://cpubenchmark.net/cpu_lookup.php?cpu...400+%40+2.70GHz I say it would be playable if you dont expect too much. Shoumaker
Time for a new build OP, anyways yes you'll have to play at a low res with low settings and with low draw distance, detail distance and vehicle density.
Andreas
The E5400 is not that bad a cpu, better than the old pentium D. http://cpubenchmark.net/cpu_lookup.php?cpu...400+%40+2.70GHz I say it would be playable if you dont expect too much. It's nevertheless just a dual core CPU and as you might know settings like texture quality, night shadows, texture filter, draw distance, detail distance and vehicle density need all a bit CPU power, one setting more, the other less which is why GTA IV needs so much CPU power and why a dual core CPU limits pretty much everything, even though in this case the system as whole is limited. westsidebud
my C2D runs GTA IV just fine.. that's a bad argument ! also someone said in here the other day it will only use up to 3 cores anyways so.. the guys gpu is worse than the cpu situation.. buying a GTX 560 or 660 would be cheap and make a HUGE difference.. although the game is very dependent on the cpu speed / performance. when getting very low FPS overclocking can sometimes make things better. unc13bud
yes, they gave bad advice, but i think buying gtx460 or gtx560 (and up) is waste of money with s775 dual core. 9500gt would get it playable with low settings, i don't think the user would benefit for anything over a gtx650ti original poster, turn off shadows, turn off reflections, set vehicles slider to 1. you need to reduce load on both cpu and especially graphics card - 8400gs is 16 shaders cores, which is like standard nforce onboard graphics. plus i bet you are using some passive cooler with 8400gs

Andreas
<snip> No, it will not run. Your PC is too weak, the only way to play the game is to buy a new PC. roboegeus
I'm currently installing windows 7 professional x64 (64 bit) on my iMac that has 3.06Ghz intel core duo processor, 4gb ram, ati radeon hd 4670 256 MB. Gta 4 and SAPD fr should work right?? Thank you again
Andreas
If it's possible to install it on the iMac then you will be able to play GTA IV on low settings so yes, it will work. I just recommend you to install patch 1.0.4.0 which you can download here. unc13bud
AMD Turion™ 64 Mobile Technology MK-36(2.0 GHz, 512 KB L2 cache) -Up to 2 GB of DDR2 533/667 MHz memory, upgradeable to 4 GB4 using two soDIMM modules (dual-channel support) -ATI Radeon® Xpress 1100 integrated 3D graphics, with up to 128 MB of shared system memory if you can max out the memory, do so. i can't remember which of my laptops benefit from doing it, but some of them change the amount of memory alloted for graphics when the system memory is upgrade. it will still look bad and barely run, i suspect - but don't know for sure. if you have the game already, turn off shadows and do whatever else you can to lower the system resources. gta iv/eflc can run on PC with only 800mhz chip @1920x1200, but it has to have quad cores to divide the CPU work up, for example, my x4 975 was locked by incompatibility with biostar ta780g http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introd...on.php?S_ID=
