I Shot The Sheriff
Don't you think the name Michael is too common? It doesn't feel personal enough to me for a GTA protag... it's like say John, or Joseph or something... cliché, stereotypical english name. There must be a million guys in the US called by that. Rockstar could have been more creative on his name What do you think?
Finn 7 five 11
I think it kind of suits him considering he is a sort of average business man looking guy. Yeah I would have preferred a more interesting name though.
Mokrie Dela
What and Tommy, Carl, Toni, Vic and Johnny werent? What do you want him to be called, Archibald? Stereotypical english name?! Seeing as how most of the US are descendants of Britain, thats not surprising. Why would they call him Arkady, or Jesus if he was an American ? Severe
What's in a name? Seriously though, when I see characters with 'unique' names, it always seem like an excuse for them not having any actual character.
Knife
What makes the character's names unique sounding is normally their surnames, we don't know his surname yet. "Tommy" is nothing special. "Tommy Vercetti" is.

Algonquin Assassin
Well I don't know about Michael, but I don't know what R* were thinking when they named Claude "Claude". I always picture some guy with a moustache and a beret from some from village in France. Anyway I'm not sure what else they could've called him when he's an over 40s American male. Bonfy
My guess is it's not the name the problem. The real problem is people don't know what to talk about anymore.
Barguast
Chad Explodo would've been a much better name. Or Vinny McDeath. Seriously though, it doesn't make a bit of difference. If a name is over-thought, it'd show and it'd be tacky. Understated names make great bad-guy names in the long run. See: Claude, Tony, Walter, Mike, etc.

ninjapixy
biblical names are common place, hence easy disguise for witness protection. next your going to complain a surname like Smith is far too common!
simonp92
Mike, Carl, Toni, Tommy, Johnny. Yes, that's extremely original. How about you wait to whine until we know his last name?
