TheMisanthrope Posted January 8, 2013 Share Posted January 8, 2013 what is your response (the alterantive to your response once the game comes out) Well since they are saying PS4 and the new Xbox will be coming out by the beginning of next year I just can't see it happening. They would lose money since everyone would be buying the new generation of consoles. Or maybe not I don't know. But I'm confident that it'll be out sometime this year if it's delayed so be it just as long as we get the game I'll be fine I got my bud so hell 4 months, 8 months it's all the same to me it'll be here in the blink of an eye. ..... time for a bong. Personally I'd be pulling my hair out and robbing liqour stores to try and get enough scratch to get a boss PC gaming rig if it were reversed. Rockstar usually announce the PC version 1-2 months after the console release so only a month delay is unlikely. @infiniteammo I'm actually planning to buy a new rig just for GTA V, although I'll wait till intel's haswell chipsets are introduced and till Nvida and AMD announce their next gen cards. R* would do me a little favour to be honest - then I would have more time for other games before GTA5. I want to enjoy GTA4 with EFLC and so on for at least a year, making some movies about it. I have many plans for that game. GTA5 would make me feel only nervous and make me dump GTA4 and my ideas for it. Don't get mad at me because of my opinion. The Warriors was developed by Rockstar Toronto and I would say that was only an exception that might have something to do with the Toronto studio but I'm not sure. Red Red Revolver, Midnight Club: DUB Edition, Midnight Club: Los Angeles and Red Read Redemption weren't released for PC because they were all developed by Rockstar San Diego and their last game that was released for the PC platform was Midnight Club II, back in 2003 which is a bunch of time if we are honest, no? GTA Liberty City Stories and GTA Vice City Stories were each developed by Rockstar Leeds under the supervision of Rockstar North. Both games were PlayStation Portable exclusives until each game was ported to PlayStation 2 some time after the PSP release. GTA Chinatown Wars was developed by Rockstar Leeds and Rockstar North exclusively for Nitendo DS, until the game was ported to PlayStation Portable, iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, and released for each platform, between 7 and 11 months after the release on Nitendo DS. @Noclue_42 I would be happy if the wait is only one month although I doubt it. It is all depended on how Rockstar is going to develope GTA V for PC. Considering that it has been confirmed that there is no lead-platform for the game, I would say that the release will happen sooner this time. Not like what happened with Max Payne 3, with the minor delay that took two weeks but sooner than 5-8 months as it was the case from GTA III onwards until L.A. Noire. Rockstar proved that they are able to properly develope a game for PC and let's say the development costs would rise a bit just because of this, it is definitely worth it because if the game is properly optimized then it will run on a greater variety of PCs and that only means good things then. I'm actually planning to buy a new rig just for GTA V, although I'll wait till intel's haswell chipsets are introduced and till Nvida and AMD announce their next gen cards. Although Haswell won't be much better than Ivy Bridge when it comes to the pure CPU power (not the power of the IGP), I have hopes for some improvements, especially like the thermal compound. As you might know, Ivy Bridge CPUs heated if you overclock them and if you want to increase the voltage slightly unlike Sandy Bridge. That is caused by the bad thermal comound in IB CPUs and something that should be improved with Haswell. I have no idea why Intel took that route, but in any way it was not a good idea. It is high time for me to buy a new motherboard, the CPU and more RAM but I'll wait for Haswell. But as far as delays are concerned. Reasons why it won't get delayed (or delay is just for a smaller amount of time like a week.)-Rockstar seemed to of learned from GTA IV. RDR, MP3, and LA Noire haven't been delayed. That is not true. Red Dead Redemption was announced in February 2009 for a release in Q4 2009. The game had been delayed to the first half year of fiscal year 2010 (November 2009-April 2010). Later the release date for late April 2010 was announced. In March 2010 the game had been delayed once more, this time by a month. Max Payne 3 was announced in March 2009 for a release in winter 2009. The release date was later changed to late October 2009, then changed to the second quarter of 2010, then delayed to late 2010, then delayed again to the second quarter of 2011, then delayed to summer 2011, and rumoured to be delayed to late 2011. Well, a new release date of Max Payne 3 was announced on September 8th 2011 for March 2012. In mid January it was announced that the game has been pushed back once more, from March 2012 to May. L.A. Noire was a project from Team Bondi and Rockstar Games helped in the last three years of the development and also they advertised the game. So in this case it was not only Rockstars fault that L.A. Noire has been pushed back multiple times and that even worse than what happened with Max Payne 3. As if this is not enough, Rockstar has announced the game Agent back in 2007, before GTA IV was pushed back from October 2007 to early 2008, and they even have announced in an Asked&Answered that Agent would release in 2010 but as you might know the release never happened. The game is ether cancelled or a PlayStation Orbis exclusive. now. Nobody knows yet or probably, we will never know it.
