bobdude100
I prefer driving manual in real life. Hopefully when we drive a manual he makes the gear shift animations. In automatics like mini vans we see him shift from park to drive, or drive to reverse etc. on the steering wheel column. Same with the other automatics with the stick on the console. G-Eazy
Even here in germany most luxury sedans or SUVs have automatic transmission only. And since the newer automatics got 7 or 8 gears they get more popular in mid-size and compact class.OT: Why not, the more details rockstar put in GTAV the more realistic it feels. We may not realize it the first time, but you will think it feels right. WHy not? Because of console limits, it may seem like a small feature, it but all adds up and the ps3/xbox are not that good on ram. You're kidding? Right? Oh god do some research Lol, yeah you're right. I'm not that type of person who knows much about RAM and stuff. But I'm sure that this won't that much RAM in-space.

G-Eazy
Most american cars are automatic, so no!! So because the most American cars are automatic, Rockstar Games won't put some manual cars in GTA:V? For example we can have for an Cheetah or F9 paddle's behind the steering wheel for shifting. Trund
The problem with GTA IV was the the rather stupid automatic transmission. You could hear it by the sound/performance that it was totally ridiculous and didn't fit in any way to a sports car. Manual cars in GTA V would be cool yeah, but let's be realistic: It won't happen. There's hope however that mroe expensive cars and sports cars will have a DSG like automatic transmission, in that case they could add an animation for shifting with the paddles on the steering wheel. But I have this sad feeling that all cars will have the same boring transmission.
Lawlzmachine1989
If we wanted that way, the full-size pickups, minivans and SUVs (Bobcat, Moonbeam and Cavalcade) will have to come in auto-shifting. Say the Coquette and the Futo on GTA IV for example, these can be driven with the stick-shift. With the Cheetah on GTA V, I'm pretty sure that's paddle-shifting. Anyhoo, I would like that kind of animations in GTA V. I have seen MC:LA's gear-shifting animation, so why not on GTA V? It's probable they can? blowtorchrepair
who will play this game to ooze over gear shift animation??? When I'm driving in L.S. in a first person view (if we get one) I want to see as much map as possible, the masterpiece of the game, and not so much a cars' interiors. The windshield cam in IV was perfect. All view and no BS. The hood animation was perfect. but I'll admit, if R* adds gear shift animation it and it looks good, it'll be cool now. Obviously everyone is not like you. Some people are interested in different things than you. YOU KNOW? I like to look at some buildings. Others don't care for buildings. So what? AB0333
To be fair, having a gear shift animation will just scare players from America. They won't understand what he's doing! 'D love to.

J32T3R
There's something called "racing games" that has it go check it out. Will R* release something and save us from this idiocy
Paper Mario
Meh I'd rather have R* focus on other more important stuff. I never really watch inside the car. Kunda unnecessary because you won't be looking at it that much and definitely not during a chase in a mission.

ClaudeSpeed1911
They should add steering animation then add gear shifting.

rare.steak
R* could learn a lot from the really smooth driver animations in from certain PC sim racers like iRacing or rFactor. Nothing fancy but very practical and good looking. Obvious European poster, or rather, poster outside of America. To be fair, having a gear shift animation will just scare players from America. They won't understand what he's doing! While most cars in America are automatic, I'm sure some of the sports cars in-game could be assumed to be stick shift - even though a lot of them come in automatic, you know, to cater to that market. So how do you Americans enjoy driving or is it purely a chore there nowadays?

What's so great about enjoying driving when we have so much other dumb unsafe things to keep us busy? Geesh. You all act like it could be fun to drive. sddales
What a ridiculously jingoistic topic. OT, I think the animations should exist. It's not something you'd see all the time obviously.
