nydru90
will the countryside & desert regions feel separated from the city of Los Santos???, in GTA:SA everything was too close to each other if u know what i mean, i want long drives out of the city instead of a minutes drive over a hill to the countryside
USAPatriot
We can only hope. Based on photos we've seen so far, a lot of areas seem like a good distance from each other.
Alenko
I'm sure R* will deliver on this one. SA just gave the illusion of a massive country side, which in a game world, it was, but with the reported map size in V, I don't think that there will be an issue with small country drives. In fact, I actually think that the country side will be the meat of the game!
STOGE
i know what ur saying about SA u drove 1 min from los santos and u were bang in the country.Hopefully it WILL be more spread out this time with more of a gentle transistion to wild country
DS 17
I do really hope it won't be like it has been in SA, when you are in the forest or the countryside and you are looking on the other side of a really small river, there is a desert. That is really unrealistic and I pray for not having seperated parts in the map like this one. The pass should be fluent.
richard1997jones
Don't knock SA it was still impressive although definatly needs more distance for example if I stood in the right place I could see all three cities and yes going over a hill from LS to the country was stupid especially as they became all cowboys, if they can't create more distance between then prehaps tone it down the closer to the city you are

Miss Darko
Well, GTA V has two things going for it: one, the extremes aren't as, well, extreme as in San Andreas, since the game is based on a smaller area rather than the entirety of California and even parts of other states, and two, the map size is also significantly larger. There's also the fact that the map is all open from the start, so we won't be seeing well-defined 'sections' of the map this time around, so the transitions should be more gradual. It's not going to be exactly like real life, of course. The map size is still smaller than any normal town and depicts an area much larger than that, with lots of variety. So don't be surprised to see the occasional odd transition, but I think it'll still be a lot more believable than their previous maps. I think they also want to depict the 'sprawl' of the city, and I think that will translate itself to the way the buildings just keep sort of spreading outwards, into these different districts that aren't technically part of Los Santos but close enough to look like they are, gradually thinning out to the countryside. gtajim
How is the map the size of an average town that's just crazy
Miss Darko
How is the map the size of an average town that's just crazy Well, I didn't say that, I said it's smaller. Just used that as the baseline since it's supposed to depict L.A., a humongous city, as well as its surrounding areas.
